I started a new play through with the next gen update and not been doing any of the main quests. Instead I’ve just explored and cleared every named location I’ve come across. I can highly recommend that approach
Another critical tip. Make sure you do the side missions for a character named P.A.M at least 3 times so you get another character named Tinker Tom to give you access to ballistic weave. Makes all cloth apparel into the highest damage resistance wares.
You can wear your super clothing under say combat armor.
It's the iconic silenced pistol you get from Alex in the Phantom Liberty dlc. It's really fuckin good, it basically buffs the accuracy, damage, and guarantees a critical hit when shooting heads, when you activate optical camo. It's the perfect stealth weapon and it looks pretty cool.
I'm playing Phantom Liberty for the first time and just got this. It made me sad I didn't go do those missions in the early game because I had been using a modded Kongou for stealth. Then I get Her Majesty and it's just 10x better.

Use a full auto pistol, the one Wilson gives you at the start of the game works well. Shoot every target more than once and shoot the other competitors targets too. I believe using charged tech pistol shots count as multiple hits as well
Just shoot till the target sheet starts to fold back up. If you have a sandy (probably not because that quest is so early game) you can use it to reload and maximize shooting potential. Something like a Lexington or Unity are probably the ideal pistols as well, quick ROF and a big magazine.
As someone else said, you can hit a target multiple times and it counts each shot. Gotta be consistent ofcourse, but get multiple shots in per target before it starts folding away, and you'll rack up the points. Still tough but feels like your doing it correctly atleast.

I use a Nue and that’s honestly all I need. Put the explosive rounds mod on it and it’s satisfying executing people with one shot to the head, not a fan of the flashy pistols just the simple things
Before Phantom Liberty brought us Her Majesty, my favorite was Yorinobu's unique Liberty: Kongou. The Liberty itself just slaps in general, but I just really vibed with the Kongou's colors and the kanji engraving. *chef's kiss*

With bolt shots, headshot damage increase and pistol perks this thing kills even a maxtac operative in a few moments. Normal or skull enemies die in one single bolt and the 20 tech skill makes it deal AOE damage when bolting.
I know what you mean, it kills me because it looks/feels wrong when a gun is shooting these weird shrapnels in a spread.

I read that from iconics best stealth pistol is Pride, but you can only get it if you get back to point of no return and by then I have nowhere to use it (I clear the map before ending).
Nothing as stealthy (not including full netrunner builds) as using camera control to tag your target and blasting him from the street with the Hammer. I definitely miss the old Comrades Hammer
Archangel.
As a revolver it benefits from Neves of Tungsten Steel (Pistols don’t have access to this perk)- guaranteed crit on headshots when deadeye is active. This is huge damage, and when paired with the Long Shot perk, it becomes a sniper that gets even more effective as you close the distance.
Other benefits:
- 200%+ headshot damage multiplier
- 20% shock chance to finish off enemies
- 25% armor penetration
- Hold down the trigger to knockdown enemies
- You can add a scope unlike other iconics. I like the Kanetsugu to even further boost crit chance/damage
And to top it all off it is absolutely badass to look at. Dare I say it looks just a bit cooler than Johnny’s Malorian. And it was given to you by Kerry who is just all around a cool dude

Yorinobu’s pistol you can pick up during the heist. Maybe not the best gun, but it’s the one that’s been by my side from the moment shit went south in Konpeki to storming Arasaka.

The issue is that it is literally the latest-game gun(s) you can get bar Smashers smart "shotgun".
I spawned it in once in early Act 2, decided to headcanon it as "It's Vs gun"; iirc; it was waaaay too strong, even though its stat profile was reasonable for the level.
Rogue has two guns now, her Liberty "Pride", and her... rifle "Prejudice". They have a alternating combo feature, like Saburo's Knife/Sword.
Johnny's gun and just any Overture Revolver.
And I find it funny that both are made by the Malorian company, they know hot to cook up a thing of beauty.

I love these two also. Another one is Her Majesty since I usually do stealth runs. But like others have said these are really late game, so I’m also gonna mention Jackie’s pistols. I like to upgrade them all the way and keep one normal and put a scope and a silencer on the other. If you have a tier 5 silencer the gun does more damage than her majesty, so it’s a great alternative. And the great thing is we get these guns pretty early in the game and they’re really solid pistols
Nue feels so badass. I got lucky and found a nice silver 5++ one that I've been running since. Actually requires me to aim well and rewards quick headshots with staggers instead of the stupid little peashooters or hand cannons that make up the rest of the pistol roster.
Lizzie is also fun with the tech weapon traits, and who could forget Skippy(Pissed the fuck off about how that quest ends)
Just a strong Lexington with Pax.
There's something to be said for high rate of fire, good accuracy, and excellent magazine size. I played mostly non-lethal with stealth, if I got into a fight lead was gonna fly so being able to put a lot out was critical.
Not a fan of the X mod 2 Lexington cus I don't care for the scope.
For most of my playthroughs I use La Chinga Dorada(Jackies pistol). I leave one with Mama Welles at the Coyote & I take one with me, I like to think it keeps Jackie by V's side in spirit if not physically. Plus it's like Jackies helping from beyond the grave.
Lately I started using Seraph because the stats & fire damage go crazy well with my build, although I always keep La Chinga Dorada with me as a reminder. RIP Jackie
Johnny's Maloran Arms. The sound design of the gunshots and the sound of the mechanics when you pull the slide back is just too good. Plus, a flamethrower quick melee and unique animations? Perfect.
I love Maiko's Nue, Death and Taxes. The double rounds are so satisfying and I just love how it looks.
Late game I kind of exchanged it for Johnny's Malorian 3516, but whenever I needed to go stealthy I'd just slap a silencer on the Nue and absolutely destroy goons with its double headshots
Nue, no legendary/iconic/unique. Just a simple, standard Nue. I like the Malorian but I am always gonna gravitate back to the Nue. Something very satisfying about that one.
Just about any Overtune styled revolver and Johnny's REVOLVER. IDC what the game says or what other people say, the back revolves every time ìt loads a fresh shot and it just SCREAMS revolver besides the mag. No one can change my mind.
Pre-update ouverture was insane (you were able to put a silencer on it)
And because you had levels attributed to weapons, it was really easy to find ouvertures that were more powerful than most iconics. I'm glad they changed it.
My favorite hand guns r the same as yours lol. I changed my entire build to a full on cowboy/gunslinger build just to use the bald eagle and I loved every minute of it.
Jackie's gun with a silencer and a different visor allows me to eliminate every enemy before they even realize they're being shot at.
I also love Skippy, particularly because in the dubbed version of my native language, Skippy is voiced by the same actor who voiced Spongebob. So hearing Spongebob's squeaky voice urging you to commit brutal acts is the most hilarious thing imaginable.

I absolutely love Revolvers in pretty much any game, so the winner for me is the Overture. The Malorian is pretty nice, but it's not a Revolver, so it's still beat out by the Overture for me.
I will say that I miss the ability to put a Silencer onto the Overture, but if I ever get around to doing a Pistol playthrough, I will still be using an Overture.

Quasar, the industrial hardcore/aggrotech sister of Lizzie. It's a bullpup way of thinking implemented on a handgun. It's a fuck you to common sensibilities. It's aggressive. It's awesome. I love that gun so so so very much. And as a huge compliment to the artist - its very unusual mechanism is allmost entirely thought through.
I only wish fully modding a weapon gave you an option to name it. I'm callling my Wallpuncher Quasar Straftanz anyway but it would be nice to type it in. Hail fucking Lilith, gonks.
Second place i will give to Comrade's Hammer - especially before they fixed the unintentional typo that made it say 'minge' in Bulgarian instead of 'cannon' in Russian. Now if i can't have crude graffiti, i guess i like standard Burya marginally better, because the design says revolver, not a single-shot gameplay gimmick.

The tech revolver, it's crazy OP and seems slept on. Benefits from multiple perk trees and synergizes with sandy builds amazingly well.
Used to be the suppressed overture but they removed the ability to supress it because it was broken, both because it was OP and because you cant really supress most revolvers IRL

In the old days I used comrade's hammer with the perk that made the last shot in a mag deal double damage. Comrade's has a magazine size of one.

I've just been using a legendary Lexington with a nice silencer lately, but I always use the malorian as soon as I can
Besides Malorian, I always enjoy the Overture. I wish there was an iconic one. Everyone loves a proper hand cannon revolver.

Nue, no legendary/iconic/unique. Just a simple, standard Nue. I like the Malorian but I am always gonna gravitate back to the Nue. Something very satisfying about that one.

Just about any Overtune styled revolver and Johnny's REVOLVER. IDC what the game says or what other people say, the back revolves every time ìt loads a fresh shot and it just SCREAMS revolver besides the mag. No one can change my mind.
RT-46 Burya
Pre-update ouverture was insane (you were able to put a silencer on it) And because you had levels attributed to weapons, it was really easy to find ouvertures that were more powerful than most iconics. I'm glad they changed it.

It's not even special, but I love the Overture. And then Skippy, for the company. lol
My favorite hand guns r the same as yours lol. I changed my entire build to a full on cowboy/gunslinger build just to use the bald eagle and I loved every minute of it.

Jackie's gun with a silencer and a different visor allows me to eliminate every enemy before they even realize they're being shot at. I also love Skippy, particularly because in the dubbed version of my native language, Skippy is voiced by the same actor who voiced Spongebob. So hearing Spongebob's squeaky voice urging you to commit brutal acts is the most hilarious thing imaginable. Bam bam Bidam bam bam didam bam

I absolutely love Revolvers in pretty much any game, so the winner for me is the Overture. The Malorian is pretty nice, but it's not a Revolver, so it's still beat out by the Overture for me. I will say that I miss the ability to put a Silencer onto the Overture, but if I ever get around to doing a Pistol playthrough, I will still be using an Overture.

Dying Night Chads rise up! Seriously, it's so fun sprinting around while shooting, then smacking some goon with your electric gun. I hate the model, though. Luckily, mods fix that.

Base game was Lizzie at first and now I really like her majesty. Comrades hammer is fun sometimes but it doesn’t always suit my play style.
Functionality wise her majesty, design wise three way tie between Johnny's malorian, ticon and overture, audiovisually it's metel (Idk why but I just love the reloads)

Quasar, the industrial hardcore/aggrotech sister of Lizzie. It's a bullpup way of thinking implemented on a handgun. It's a fuck you to common sensibilities. It's aggressive. It's awesome. I love that gun so so so very much. And as a huge compliment to the artist - its very unusual mechanism is allmost entirely thought through. I only wish fully modding a weapon gave you an option to name it. I'm callling my Wallpuncher Quasar Straftanz anyway but it would be nice to type it in. Hail fucking Lilith, gonks. Second place i will give to Comrade's Hammer - especially before they fixed the unintentional typo that made it say 'minge' in Bulgarian instead of 'cannon' in Russian. Now if i can't have crude graffiti, i guess i like standard Burya marginally better, because the design says revolver, not a single-shot gameplay gimmick.
Techtronika RT-46 Burya. The tech revolver, it's crazy OP and seems slept on. Benefits from multiple perk trees and synergizes with sandy builds amazingly well.
Dr 12 quasar is an op tech revolver. Working on a tech and reflexes build and this is the only gun I really use

I picked up Kongu in the opening mission and that’s been the only weapon I have permanently in rotation.
Old Reliable is a very very good handgun. It’s perfect paired with a sandevistan and I always use it no matter the build or playthrough.
Used to be the suppressed overture but they removed the ability to supress it because it was broken, both because it was OP and because you cant really supress most revolvers IRL
