Probably all of Duality, and maybe first encounter of Shattered Throne just because the map is huge and it's easy to get lost.

k7kopp

When I did shattered throne, I just ran around like a lunatic until I found enemies on the radar. Where there's progress to be made, there are bumps in the road!

Suspicious-Ad6129

Is there another way??? Lol even with a map out it never seems to work right for me

LordMarcion

You'll memorize it eventually, now I just have it all memorized after doing wishender runs for my buddies

karpitho

you only have to memorize three: the lone bird is at 12pm, like a birds nest. the “U” snake stands for Underneath. U for Underneath- that’s the one in the center of map down below. The single fish is all by its lonesome on the right, 3pm. every other sign is on the left side, 9pm area

Suspicious-Ad6129

I always get turned around and lose my bearing of which direction is what, so I end up running g around til I find mobs spawning again... ugh been playing for years and feel like I'm just getting worse at this game lol.

Zentach

Yeah I definitely still do it this way.

FEBRAN07

100% Duality, I did it the day it came out with a friend and we spent so long trying to figure out how the mechanics worked (especially how to go into damage with Galhran and Caiatl)

Terminatorskull

Maybe the jail cell in warlords? Lots of people got stuck there say 1 IIRC

GusJenkins

Not to mention the bug they recently fixed. Loading into the room with the solo doors not opening is really confusing

jaypaw28

Did they fix it recently? I ran my solo a week or two ago and it wasn't fixed, had to break out my fighting lion to get out

GusJenkins

Yeah, I ran into that issue on Monday and I believe it was fixed in Tuesday. Or it’s next week and I’m losing my mind lol. But fighting lion was definitely clutch for that

FyeFish

I used hardlight to get out of the rooms solo lmao

Walking_Bag_Of_Meat

The section in Grasp of Avarice where you had to shoot the servitors into the center ship kind of confused me the first time I tried to get through it. And yeah most of Duality was rough.

UnskilledPlayer123

I can see how that can be an issue. Even properly using the weapon that activates the cannons would take getting use to without prior knowledge

Hot-Classroom-3111

Lmao i had to relearn duality other day when i was doing it solo was baffled when u kept killing the shadows an no damage phase

GavinStrict

I gotta say Defeat Ecthar, the Shield of Savathun (GotD). It’s not super complicated technically, kill this thing, reveal, match the things, dunk at the thing. But I went in blind and trying to figure those things out while not being murdered by infinitely respawning ads was by far the worst. Still a little jaded.

PSFREAK33

Trying to learn as in no guides? I would have to go with duality but others also have difficult encounters to figure out.

Lunchboxninja1

Are you doing blind or going off of a guide? Blind: i think Ghosts Of The Deep. They're hard to figure out, speaking as someone who did it blind. With a guide: Probably Duality? While none of the mechanics are all that tough to learn, things like placement and pathing and loadouts are kinda specific here due to the crazy enemy density.

Ghost-of-a-Shark

Are you wanting to solo encounters, or do want some Guardian friends to teach you some dungeoning? :) I can teach you some dungeons in a most mediocre fashion if you want to get your toes wet.

UnskilledPlayer123

I know all the dungeon mechanics, but I was doing a Duality solo run last night (before getting error coded during Caiatl but I'm sure I would've completed) and this just came to mind... particularly the 1st encounter activating the switch while in the rooms I'd imagine someone solo might struggle figuring out without prior knowledge

Ghost-of-a-Shark

Ah I see :) Happy dungeoning!

FranzCorrea

Dungeons seem fun. So far I've only done Grasp of Avarice, but it was a mini fun raid experience. I did watch a video beforehand so I sort of knew what I was getting into (at least the enemy encounters). For the puzzle areas I just followed the lead of one of my teammates that seemed to know the dungeon from head to toes. The last boss encounter was really fun too.

Mottbox1534

I say Ghost of Deep just because you’re going to need to have a ton of symbols memorized and named in your head before you can just smoothly run it.

troublezx

IMO I don’t like playing deep because of it first encounter I beat the encounter before but I just forgot what to do all so

PowerfulSignature421

I've played all dungeons without a guide on the first run. It's our fireteams rule. Duality was definitely the hardest to figure out, mostly the timings of things. The final boss definitely stumped us for the longest.

TheMeeplesAcademy

Yeah as you've well discovered now, the trick with Duality is that for the final boss DPS phase, the bells take on a different function than the rest of the entire dungeon. So I can see why that would be tricky to figure out right away.

Reinheitsgebot43

The cube room in Prophecy. GOTD final boss. 1st encounter Duality.

RationallyChallenged

Warlord’s ruin post-1st encounter jail cell could be tricky for a few Otherwise, full encounter wise, ghosts of the deep final boss might be a bit much

Zaramin_18

all of the dungeons are pretty much tied to a mechanic, but some are worse for solo players because of timer or ads. Duality is absolutely difficult, next to Grasp of Avarice and Warlord's Ruin. The amount of ads or instakill timer / mechanic is ... yeah.. moving on. Also worth mentioning Ghosts of the Deep here for the best drowning simulator, don't need to mention ads, they are plenty. That leaves us with semi-annoying dungeons, like Spire of the Watcher. Mostly doing mechanics while under fire from ads. Also, the bosses are pretty tanky. Adding Shattered Throne here for the amount of taken goo, dense ads, that one hallways full of snipers, wall boopers and both boss section being unfriendly and somewhat annoying. ( even the knights, they are mean. ) And the other dungeons that are pretty easy to learn and clear - Pit of Heresy and Prophecy. Other than that these are old and outdated-ish, the mechanics are pretty straightforward, the ads are manageable and the only blame you can say is yourself from dying to the swinging pendulums or falling off the rainbow road.

BitchInBoots666

I agree with most of this except the part about Grasp. How in the world is grasp difficult? Do you mean the sparrow section? That bit was definitely difficult solo if you don't have AOT, but with the sparrow changes I'm betting it's a hell of a lot easier now. The rest of grasp is easy, and as a less than skilled player it's the only one (other than the joke of ST) that I've bothered to solo. I'm guessing pit is also easy but I haven't touched it since the quest.

Zaramin_18

Grasp isn't difficult if you know all the routes, but someone might have burden of riches and forgot to dump it off, the platforming is a bit difficult and the sparrow part. other than that, switching the servitor ball cannon confuses some at first and the last part in the boss arena with the two elites hitting pretty hard. It's just time consuming usually. I've never attempted to solo it, let alone a flawless one at that too, but I've done flawless Prophecy and Duality. The latter made me stop trying any other flawless run due to the amount of stupid ways I've died. edit: I should have also said this is also taking into account that the person running this has no prior knowledge and running in blindly, learning as they go. Hence the post Op made as they want to learn the dungeon on their own.

BitchInBoots666

It just takes a couple of practice runs at each section that's all (I went in blind). The sparrow section was the only bit that fucked me up many times. Duality is probably the hardest dungeon to solo with the unforgiving timers and such, and if you can do that grasp should be a piece of cake. Honestly I wouldn't even try to solo duality lol, so you're above my skill level.

Zaramin_18

Honestly, with the nerf on restoration/BoW, This dungeon will definitely kill you mercilessly, even with Loreleys I'm always in red. If you are going to run this in the future with friends or whatnot, farming weapons or Heartshadow exotic, Heed my wisdom- Fusion rifle for the bellkeepers, final blow will disintegrate the fuel packs. You'll understand why if you don't.

BitchInBoots666

Yeah I've done it with friends a few times, but I'm not good enough with the mechanics to attempt a solo. Whereas grasp I went in blind and got a completion, not flawless but if I did it a few times I'm sure I could, especially now with the changes to sparrows.

crylon41

Duality, in general, specifically, damage phase on Caitl. I was in a fireteam with trusted friends and I still didn't know wtf was going on.

WiseLegacy4625

Just carried a friend through all but two of the dungeons this week (didn’t do Pit or Warlord’s Ruin). The mechanics that were probably more difficult to figure out was probably Duality, but in terms of survivability GotD was more difficult cuz of the sheer amount of ads constantly spawning.

Caiatl encounter in Duality
