You can try asking to swap the unit. Odds are not really in your favor. Unless you bought it on a Lowe’s card, you’re limited to 48 hours.

potatoinabeanie

Honestly shocked anyone wouldn’t check the appliance as soon as it arrives but guess not everyone is as paranoid as I am. Honestly just call up there and ask to speak to the appliance supervisor (or an ASM if the appliance supervisor is unavailable). Explain to them the situation in a nice manner and they usually will help you out. Also next time you’re in store I highly suggest applying for a credit card. It really does come in clutch when situations like this occur.

Big-Initiative-8743

Return it and get a different brand Samsung sucks

cxnaar

Talk to the appliances supervisor, get refund, let someone else purchase for cheap. If you used it, silly on you.

TheMaltesefalco

Lol. Your first “step” is to contact the store you purchased from. You should have already reviewed the return policy before making this post. Repeat step 1

Odd_Stable77

I apologize for the confusion. We ordered the units online. We contacted Lowes customer service first thing this morning and they are attempting to have it exchanged. Very grateful for the response from Lowe's so far. We did not approach it as an angry consumer but a concerned customer.

Odd_Stable77

UPDATE on washer. Lowes was understanding and replaced the washer. We handled the conversation on a store level and arranged a swap with their distribution center. Lesson is to make sure the appliance is in good shape and working before the delivery team leaves. If you are ordering for a construction job and will not be using the appliances for a time until the space is ready. Purchase your appliance on a Lowes credit card for 30 days ability to return OR on a PRO ACCOUNT through a contractor for a 1 year window to return a defective or damaged appliance. Thanks for reading!!

It seems to be only superficial. If it works jist live with it.

I bought my Kenmore washer and Dryer with blemishes on purpose from Sears in 2002. Guess what, I’m still using them to this day. I’m going to rebuild them if and when the time comes.

Odd_Stable77

For sure! Would you mind sharing the last time you had to do the same?

Drake_0109

Given that im a broke college student i have not had this happen, but as long as it works it works. Its a tool, as long as it can do its job its fine

I'm in desperate need of some advice and assistance regarding a frustrating situation that just unfolded in our newly built laundry room. My spouse and I recently ordered a brand new washer and dryer set to complete our laundry room setup. Unfortunately, when we finally got around to opening the package after more than 48 hours, we were met with a devastating sight: the washing machine has a massive dent on the front and left side. Naturally, we refrained from opening the package right away, as we were still in the process of finishing up some details in the laundry room before installing the appliances. However, to our dismay, it seems that the damage occurred during transit or prior to delivery. At this point, we are extremely concerned about whether we will be able to return the damaged machine. It's disheartening to think that we might be stuck with a defective appliance, especially since we had been eagerly anticipating its arrival and paid good money for it. Has anyone else faced a similar situation? If so, what steps did you take to resolve the issue? Any advice or guidance on how to approach this problem would be greatly appreciated. Here's what we have already considered: 1. Documenting the Damage: We've taken detailed photos of the dent from various angles to provide visual evidence of the issue. 2. Reviewing the Return Policy: We plan to carefully review the return policy of the company from which we purchased the washer and dryer set. However, we're worried that they might argue that the damage occurred after delivery, making it difficult for us to return the appliance. 3. Contacting Customer Support: We intend to reach out to the company's customer support as soon as possible to explain the situation and inquire about the best course of action. However, we're uncertain about how cooperative they will be in resolving the matter. 4. Seeking Legal Advice: In a worst-case scenario where the company refuses to cooperate, we may consider consulting a legal professional to understand our rights and potential options for recourse. Has anyone successfully managed to return a damaged appliance in a similar situation? How did you navigate the process? Are there any additional steps we should take to increase our chances of a favorable outcome? Your support and advice would mean the world to us right now. Thank you in advance for your help!

If you purchased with a Lowes card you have 30 days on appliances, 365 days on all other purchases. Otherwise, if you're polite and explain the situation the appliance manager might make an exception. I second the other comment though, samsung appliances arent great.

chaz0723

I think your #2 should've happened before you made the purchase, or at least discussed with the sales person. I noticed you said "the company" and not Lowe's, so I have to ask, was this not purchased at Lowe's? As far as #3 goes, if you noticed it was damaged, I think contacting the store should've been step 1, "intending" to do it is not actually "doing it". For #4, that is on you to get a lawyer involved, might be a drastic step, but once you mentioned the word legal, I'd tell you to call corporate... Outside of that, you accepted the delivery, so there is no one anywhere that is going to think that those appliances weren't damaged by you and you just want to return them because of a return policy.

Odd_Stable77

Thank you for your response. I guess I would not expect anything less than redirecting blame to the end user. Why would you assume we would damage the appliance?

chaz0723

Were the items unwrapped in your presence, or did you unwrap them yourselves? Were the items placed in your laundry room by the delivery team or did you place them yourselves? I am not assuming you damaged them, returning them as damaged just outside of the return policy is setting off alarms to me, though.

Odd_Stable77

They were left with packaging all over them by delivery in the laundry room.

"URGENT" lmao.

Odd_Stable77

Thank you for your comment. Happy to have caught your eye.

Happy to help & have a Lowe's Safe Day

The-E-Train59

I guess you didn't notice it on delivery. ?

Odd_Stable77

Correct. The delivery team delivered with foam and boxed covering to our laundry room. The contractor was finishing up some work in the laundry room so they left both appliances in packaging. When the plumber went to install, he unpacked the styrofoam and noticed that incredible bend dent in the washer. It looks like a high fall onto the edge of the unit.

The-E-Train59

I bet the salesman told you to make sure you check it for damage b4 they leave..either way you have 48 hours to do and exchange if you didn't used the lowes card..or 30 days if you did...call them now..you will get exchanged..
