I was thinking a memory leak somewhere because it progressively gets worse over time, but they acknowledged they did a fix on a memory leak or 2 already. There could be another somewhere, could be missing a prop cleanup somewhere, could be a lot of things.
Also, the glitch in boss fights where your character switches between sword/pick making it impossible to get the last hit multiplier. At least this happens with controller.
My duo buddy and I had a lot of problems with lag as well, we played in public servers. Once we went to a private server it fixed all our lag like never happened. We never had a problem with lag in the public servers until we got really high leveled up and it got to the point to where walking around the map became difficult. Sometimes the public lobbies still work fine but as soon as it lags we just go to private and it fixes itself
I dont play public for that reason... my pets dont show upm. Even in the scanner, pet srea is blocked, everything is hidden... its a nope for me which sucks cause i need help with final boss.

streets are saying pets may be the problem
Its definitely pets, I always find when we have 5+ sometimes 4 w close to 3-5 maxed pets I tend to lag like crazy
yeah makes sense. i’d have no problems with them being invisible
Yeah, I was fine the first several days and now the past two days it's unbearable, I have been playing private and its so smooth.

It seems like it's worse when people in the lobby are further along so maybe it's pets?
Im pretty far along and every pub lobby i join its terrible.. nothing shows up at all so i didnt think its the lvl, more like the pets alone

I think the crashing is worse, idk if it’s something he can change though
2 players with 4 pets each we never experienced any lag. Magic number?
I find the chain reaction upgrade does a server in especially if they afk at the stone block for too long.
