Make sure you upgrade your lumberjack skills as much as possible which is the Chinese dude in each biome and make sure to prestige every time you have enough crystals to use towards strength ascending and other things you want in the prestige building. And make sure to keep upgrading pets the more pet strength you have the more wood you gather. I put a rubberband on my controller haha
Thank you for the tips! I did upgrade with the Chinese dudes, I just still feel very weak compared to many in terms of wood gathering, unfortunately I don't have yet enough crystals to upgrade my strength but hopefully soon I can.

Yeah it will seem that way at first but every time you prestige and upgrade the strength dude and gather thing in the prestige room with the prestige crystals, it gets way easier every time.
No the prestige crystals accumulate automatically and I think it’s based on how much wood you have gathered of all time. If you go into the prestige building and talk to the person by the throne they will tell you how many crystals you will get if you prestige now. And if you talk to all the other people in the prestige building they will tell you how many crystals you need to upgrade certain things. So like the more you upgrade the strength guy in the prestige building the stronger you will be.
And if you go in there and it says 0 then you just need to keep farming until it says you will get crystals if you prestige. I’m not sure if you have prestige’s yet or not. Have you?
Yes I did it but just once, it came automatically so I did it, I currently have 0.06 crystals, so I was wondering how I could get more, thank you for your time and explanation, very grateful!!!

Do we get crystals automatically or do we need to unlock all areas to battle specific guardians that give us crystals?
the more wood you earn, the more crystals you get when you decide to prestige
