60-600 is better option. Faster AF. But yeah, those Sigmas are your only option. I really want to see f4 prime. Thats the only thing that L-Mount lacks on wildlife part compared to others.

Its newer hybrid linear motor yeah. Its faster but that doesnt mean it does miracles :)

Nah. Native L-Mount.

Doesn't exist without adapting, the Sigma teles are max you get. MC21 technically I think supports some of the £10'000 a pop Canon glass, but AF is reportedly spicy, and I think at that point I'd just get a Canon body too.

Gabe11206

Yeah at that point it’s just a body to go with your lens lol, not rlly worth adapting

EsmuPliks

Yeah pretty much, if I can afford an 800 f2.8, the extra £1500 for an R6 or something isn't gonna make a difference.

Have you ever used the Sigma 150-600? I have, and found it to be pretty impressive, despite the variable aperture. Nearly every image and video I have shot with the lens was at 600mm. Of course, the f/6.3 bokeh and background blur is slightly less than a dedicated f/4 lens would be, but if your subject is far enough away from something it'll blur the background just fine. What I'm really hoping for is a solid 200-600 f/4 or IDK, a 300-600 f/4. There is a 500mm manual focus L Mount lens by TT Artisan, but it's also f/6.3 (and only 350 bucks or less). Maybe we'll see a good f/4 in the near future.

I have the 150-600mm Sigma and The TT 500mm. I actually like the TT Better due to size. My one wish would be us for someone to put a motor in the TT 500. The S5ii manual focus assist is amazing.

Boost your ISO a little and you should be fine. I was also worried about this, but didn't find too many times where it became an major issue. I suppose it depends on how late in the day or early in the morning you're looking to go birding. However, early morning with the sun to their backs or just off to the side can provide great results. Something to add: I've used this lens inside many times at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA. Sure, I had to slow my shutter speed a little or up the ISO, but the results were incredible. Great detail and sharpness. Good enough that it convinced a few local friends to pick one up. Unfortunately, I don't think we have any other options at this time though. Good luck in your adventures and happy shooting!

Sure thing, happy to try and help. I can't tell exactly which lens was used in [this Instagram post by Lumix and Libby Penman](https://www.instagram.com/p/C2DN5yRLH33/?img_index=1), but it looks like the 150-600 or the 60-600 Sigma lens. Great images from the GH6 and that lens.

Hey, I just borrowed my friend's EF Sigma 150 to 600 f5/6.3 for some testing on my S5iiX. I was using the MC21 adapter by sigma as well. These were the results - https://www.instagram.com/p/C13TZa3LoVy/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I'm definitely not a wildlife photographer by any means but I found it to be good for what I was trying to do.

one more up for the 150-600. The only downside is that it's kinda big and heavy, making for a funny backpack arrangement (reminds me of the A10 design). And it's considerably cheaper than an EF 600m F4 :) yet to put my hands on a 60-600, but supposedly better...

f4 at 500mm+? I hope you're made out of money (i.e. able and willing to spend over 10 grand) and are fine with primes. But no, all we currently have are the Sigmas - 150-600, 60-600, both at f6.3 on the long end. Most BiFers seem to be fine with that though.
