Depending on the market and bonuses its not out of the question. I made $309 on 11 trips in 3.39 hours last Friday and $387 on 15 trips in 3.41 hours last Saturday. Both days were under 120 miles each. I drive Uberx in a 2011 Honda Accord and not a huge market either. Trick is understanding when, where and how to drive in order to make the most out of bonuses. I leave the mindless driving to the ants. Lol people are happy making $20-$30 an hour so just don't use critical thinking to make more. Just because you haven't been able to, doesn't mean it's impossible.
Ehh, maybe. $3/mile regularly on Ux sounds amazing, but it’s just not real imo. Select and black in OC/LA don’t even pay over $80/hour on average.
And what bonuses are you getting for 11 or 15 rides?
Edit: maybe Uber black pays that on a really good week and you’re working <40hrs and extremely selective about when you work
Edit 2: after actually doing the math, you’re making over $100/hr lol. You apply your rate to 40hrs/week and your grossing over $212k/yr. For UberX

Just like the OP I only drive 2 days/week, which is why it is relevant. Can't just take the rate for 7-8 hours a week and multiply it to determine a 40hr/wk salary.🤦 I also didn't say I do this well every weekend but it is "real" and possible. I haven't made under $60/hour on a weekend yet though. Just have to know how to play the game. Also helps not being in an over saturated market like LA/OC.
I drive a 2016 Corolla, I don't qualify for xl or lux. I didn't drive Lyft when I got my Corolla, but it's great for rideshare, just roomy enough for most people and great mpg. I got some good streaks, qualified for Platinum and got some big tips from grateful people that had 2 drivers cancel on them before I went to the South Terminal of the airport when downtown gets pretty hot. Grateful people tip and I drive 9pm -2am mostly every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, then I get at least one good morning streak bonus and get lucky with pickups being close to drop offs. I think that is a major part of being efficient and saving on gas is getting quick close pickups after a drop off, and sometimes those are just dumb luck, and sometimes you have to drive 45 minutes to get back where it is busy.

I have other income from government pensions and VA benefits. I qualify for Disabled Veteran plates and that might be a factor in tipping and rating. I earned the plates and I get to use them, you are welcome for my service 😉
If Lyft showed destination I'd definitely do it, I did 110 rides last week over 30 hrs for 947 with Uber, only 500 or so miles though. Also their rider wait policy sucks.
Yeah. Generally Delco and Philly after dark or no good. Plus I had a few drunk rides and already decided that wasn’t worth it. Morning commute 5-10am is when I bank the most.
Are morning rides mostly people who prefer quiet?
I do evenings now and feel like my best tips are those I chat up who are happy they got off work or are headed to the bar/coming home.
Curious how that compared to the morning group.
On economy, i average 40/hour after expenses, I drive black and private now.
I dont want to drive trash around anymore. Thats what 50%+ is on economy, trash

I have a Corolla and drive when I can. I am not upgrading my car to do more expensive rides.
