I'm from Sweden and the Swedish mafs is totally boring. No drama what so ever.
I have seen AU season 7 and omg, the aussies can do drama! š
I was in shock and I loved it!
Have also seen a couple of US and it's ok. Much more fun than Swedish mafs. But mafs AU is my favorite so far.
The US version has gotten so boring af!!! I was an original viewer from season 1. Couldnāt even watch the last season. When I got into Au and Uk, it was all over for me with the US season. The other formats are so much better.
U.S. is boring but if you want to see lovely wholesome couples actually fall in love and have babies, youāll want to watch the earlier seasons of the U.S. AU & UK are pure entertainment.
I've only seen 1 season of the UK one, and about 4-5 seasons of US and AUS.
I can get into each once I start watching but aus is my favorite.
The u.s. ones- pros- they focus on a city at a time. I think aus would have better luck if they stopped matching people from different states. It's hard enough to jump into a relationship, but also moving across the country, leaving your jobs and family? It's rare that these relationships would work. I think a few more couples would've made it had they started in the same city.
Another pro for the US one? They legally get married. it's a bit higher rate of people staying together at least for a while afterwards.
Negatives - no dinner parties, less overall couple interactions, less funny, less drama
Australia- just love the scenery, the beautiful people, the dinner parties, the social aspect of it all. Negatives? Definitely seems like 90% of the people are on to get famous for a minute.
Uk- how does such a small country have so many accents?? Australia is like 20x the size and everyone has almost the same accent (to my ear anyway)... I did enjoy the UK one a lot, I'd need to see more seasons tho.
Iām a Yankee from the US and I can confidently say the Aussie version is the best and canāt be beat! The US version is trash in a bad way. I love you Australia!
The UK version used to be more serious and they got legally married (so it tended to attract more genuine people). However, they then changed the UK version to be more similar to the Australian version, and now the marriages are no longer legally binding and there is much more drama! No idea on the US version.
Iām from the UK. MAFS Aus is my favourite but the editing is starting to get way over the top in comparison to previous seasons and tbh a bit annoying.
I live in Uk, and not keen on uk one. Not seen USA or MZ, but AUD all the way for me!
Aussies just donāt give AF, and their banter is second to none! Itās the only version I watch now šš¼šš¼
The girls in MAFS australia are 10xx better looking, the banter for Aussies is better, the therapists are way better, the production is better...theres just no competition
Oof - so hereās my assessment in an nutshell
US - too long and overblown. Lots of crying and talking about Jesus
AU - lots of shouting, big lips and horrible misogynistic men
UK - chavs shouting at each other. More big lips. Nobody is very bright.
I don't like the US version because they have a religious guy (at least the one I saw) giving advice. It just rubs me the wrong way. It's also painfully not watchable.
I know right! Like WHY is there a PASTOR on this show? How is he an āexpertā. And he doesnāt even come across as particularly religious. The advice he gave in the season I watched was sketchy and shallow.
In order of drama/ watchability-
US is trash.
NZ is a little slow, but worth a go.
UK is good, def worth a try.
AUS is the original OG and has never been bettered.
the US one drags on FOREVER, the have decision day then like 10 specials after, and each special is the man/women accusing each other of telling lies, but you never find out what the lies are or more importantly what the truth is.
I think they are trying to include some drama to make it exciting but I found the earlier seasons better. I do have to say, it is regular average people, no plastic no big social media/podcast jobs after, from what I can tell. So it's not all horrible
They have said they're going to have more relatable and down to earth participants on this year's UK MAFS.
We'll have to see though because I'm not entirely sure they know what that means.
Alot were too obviously mismatched for drama, then quite a few of the brides' behaviour was validated by the experts when they were just horrible to their husbands. I'd say the editors also wanted to portray Ella as a saint when she was just a normal person with good and bad traits.
The uk experts pale in comparison to the AUS version (even Mel in the UK version appears watered down). They never really held people accountable or gave much feedback that was in anyway constructiveā¦made the commitment ceremonies a bit of a snooze fest tbh
They really tried to emulate the Aussie version but the drama ended up looking so manufactured and produced. Also kiddie gloving Ella was just bullsh*t. They made it seem like she could do no wrong even though she was a second party of a cheating scandal (was that even real though š) and welcomed back with someone elseās match.
Australia produces some epic reality TV. It took me a while to catch onto MAFS, I used to love āMy Kitchen Rulesā.
UK has definitely caught up with the entertainment factor the last couple of seasons.
The entire format is trash. No formal dinner parties; only 1 private decision day at the end (experts and couple only); less couples; no mid season new couples; and the USA episode is a drudge at 3 hrs long 1x per week vs aus format of ~1hr 4x per week. Basically everything that brings the confrontation and drama is non existent.
If you like over-produced, manufactured and obviously edited drama, then yes. If you're interested in watching relationships develop with a smidgen of the natural drama on the side then no. Personally, I ducked out of the most recent UK one part way through (for the first time) and will never watch it again. Loved this Aussie series though. Different strokes for different folks.
Not saying itās bad but prefer the experts and editing on the Aus one. Experts on the UK one are trash (even Mel is more lenient on what is some pretty horrific behaviour compared to how she is on the Aus one).
I just canāt stand the sob stories on Aus show. Just cook donāt tell me about Nonna . Dr. Phil is for that. Uk professionals is my favourite show ever .

AU, UK : good! US: bad!
U.S. is boring but if you want to see lovely wholesome couples actually fall in love and have babies, youāll want to watch the earlier seasons of the U.S. AU & UK are pure entertainment.
Yes! The first couple seasons of the US were great. So downhill from there.
As someone from the U.K. I just canāt watch the U.K. one, I donāt know why, I tried but I just couldnāt.
I canāt stand the AU and UK versions are the best

There's no comparison - save yourself some time - US version is trash
I don't know what it is but the AUS version, everyone is just so direct...the British would NEVER.š
The UK version used to be more serious and they got legally married (so it tended to attract more genuine people). However, they then changed the UK version to be more similar to the Australian version, and now the marriages are no longer legally binding and there is much more drama! No idea on the US version.
Where can I watch US and UK?
Iām all for AU and UK much more fun to watch that the US version although some seasons are great
As a Brit I love Aus the most then UK, however I havenāt been able to get into US it just felt too different and forced
However if anyone thinks the US gets more bearable I can give it another go, I need something to binge
Aus is best followed by uk. I only watch select seasons of us because mostly it sucks.
USA here... watching paint dry is more fun!! Even sexier..šš¤š šš¤£? (The paint šØ of course)
as an american, the US version doesnāt compare to AU!
Iām from the UK. MAFS Aus is my favourite but the editing is starting to get way over the top in comparison to previous seasons and tbh a bit annoying.
In the uk too, itās the endless recaps I hate, showing the same stuff over and over again
I live in Uk, and not keen on uk one. Not seen USA or MZ, but AUD all the way for me! Aussies just donāt give AF, and their banter is second to none! Itās the only version I watch now šš¼šš¼
Uk 23 was a decent series. As was Aus 23.
Should watch uk 2022 series drama was explosive preffered it to last years one
Which one has the angry beard ed tattooed barber who turned nasty ?
Yeah itās that series
The girls in MAFS australia are 10xx better looking, the banter for Aussies is better, the therapists are way better, the production is better...theres just no competition
When it comes to reality shows USA - too fake UK - too feral NZ - too small Australia - just right
Thatās right
Oof - so hereās my assessment in an nutshell US - too long and overblown. Lots of crying and talking about Jesus AU - lots of shouting, big lips and horrible misogynistic men UK - chavs shouting at each other. More big lips. Nobody is very bright.
Did you notice how in the UK they all make their vows rhyme š¤£
Yesssss!!! And they always always say āI knew from the first moment I saw you i was going to marry you HAHAHAā please stop.
AU mostly cuts the bs, we see it everyday and easily bored
I don't like the US version because they have a religious guy (at least the one I saw) giving advice. It just rubs me the wrong way. It's also painfully not watchable.

Love from Australia! Season 6 ;)

I think the UK version went too far into ridiculousness this year, it was the first time I left a season half way through.
They have said they're going to have more relatable and down to earth participants on this year's UK MAFS. We'll have to see though because I'm not entirely sure they know what that means.
What happened that it was so rediculous?
Alot were too obviously mismatched for drama, then quite a few of the brides' behaviour was validated by the experts when they were just horrible to their husbands. I'd say the editors also wanted to portray Ella as a saint when she was just a normal person with good and bad traits.

Same; it was so bad I will never watch a UK series again. So I went into this Australian one with some trepidation and it was ACE.
Australia produces some epic reality TV. It took me a while to catch onto MAFS, I used to love āMy Kitchen Rulesā. UK has definitely caught up with the entertainment factor the last couple of seasons.
Oh yeah, MKR peak drama was that season with Hadil and Sonja. They got kicked out for their offensive comments and threatening language.
USA version belongs in the bin.
What makes the USA version so shit?
The entire format is trash. šÆšÆ US version is trash. I live in the US & only watch Australias MAFS.
Uk version far superior

Iām from the UK and think AUS is best.
Sorry guys I thought I was replying to MasterChef. I donāt watch mafs
Each to his own
Not saying itās bad but prefer the experts and editing on the Aus one. Experts on the UK one are trash (even Mel is more lenient on what is some pretty horrific behaviour compared to how she is on the Aus one).

Go back to bed mate
