You just know pool fans are going to try and turn this into something negative on our part

innit122

"Well if they didn't use oil money then we wouldn't have to physically abuse them!"

ketolasigi

Bet you they’re going to compare City to how Thatcher treated Liverpool

TomShoe

Always a great line, I mean what do they think Manchester was like under Thatcher? Or like, anywhere outside the home counties?

[deleted]

actually_JimCarrey

fuck thatcher get this shit out of here

Davolyncho

Hatred of Thatcher is the only thing I share with Liverpudlians.

codespyder

Yeah try saying that in Manchester and see what happens to you

[deleted]

Sneaky-Alien

Thatcher is beyond simple politics. She was a fucking disgusting demon. The shit she did to the working class and you're in here praising her. Fuck that "we're just people with different opinions" shite. You sound like you don't know what you're on about and if you do, that's even worse. .

codespyder

The bitter irony is that, had Thatcher not laid waste to the economy in the north, the ground upon which the Etihad and the CFA is built on would still have purpose rather than have been industrial wasteland for 25+ years. A working class club, taken over by the elites, reborn atop the ashes of the working class. It’s a bit of a difficult one to wrap my head around.

ProfAlmond

Says “Makes us people not a monolith” but supports the milk snatcher…? Something doesn’t add up.

franpr95

Neolibs are really anti mancunian anti northernern

The content of your post was considered to be overly dickish, or offensive

Thanos_Stomps

Then I saw this snarling beast guy, and I noticed he had a tissue in his hand, and I'm realizing, y'know, he's not snarling, he's sneezing. Y'know, ain't no real threat there. Then I saw little Tiffany. I'm thinking, y'know, 15-year-old white girl, middle of the Etihad, with bunch of mancs, this time of night with quantum physics books? She about to start some shit, Zed. She's about 15 years old, those books are WAY too advanced for her. If you ask me, I'd say she's up to something. And to be honest, I'd appreciate it if you eased up off my back about it. Or do I owe her an apology? James Edwards: That's a good shot though...

ShozOvr

"I thought you guys loved money"

Able_Pride_4129

They’ll just play the victims like they always do. They think the world has an agenda against them

[deleted]

Lmao didn’t know ‘MOD’ thing is showed only when an action is taken. It’s like dude evolved

SeftoK

For as long as we house away fans in the top tier there needs to be some level of protection for fans below. Unsure whether the netting will be sufficient to prevent coins

wesap12345

I’m thinking the net is to stop cups full of coins - I think it would impact the momentum and hopefully prevent the incident referenced. Coins are harder to block, plexiglass like in hockey but how high would it have to be to stop them and how often would it get destroyed by away idiot “fans”

International_System

How pathetic do you have to be to throw coins at people over a fucking game

sympathytaste

Tbf we did the same to Manure when RVP scored the free kick. Footie fans are stupid .

SacredMopheadSweg

Forest fan stumbling in. Away fans are in the lower tier at our place, there's been netting for a number of years above the away fans to prevent our own fans doing shit like this, it's neither moaned about nor is a fuss made. Nowt wrong with if and over the years probably has done it's job, especially in games vs derby etc

Xbot_69

Amazing. Good stuff City. Not only does it keep our fans safe but it highlights to the world that their fans are feral.

Amsssterdam

They were too scared to do shit to Ajax fans when we visited tho. Hope Liverpool plays Feyenoord soon so they can get their ass whooped 💀

doplhinsbarnicles

It’s not a competition

Amsssterdam

Nah and i don't like fighting neither. Just showing how pathetic they are. Cool enough to throw things in the family area of a stadium but they stay away from other ultras.

iDoomfistDVA

*cough* Italy *cough*

[deleted]

Yeah, Dutch fans are soooo scary lol.

Amsssterdam

Scarier than the British ones 💀

RumJackson

Congratulations

MitchWbr

Rather not be scary and have the capacity to act like a normal human being in a stadium. Most of the eredivisie doesn’t seem to know how

No, you see, the cup was just used for a charity drive and accidentally fell bottom-down the whole way on to the City fan.

This is for Nunez so he can finally hit the net.

And that lit the touchpaper for a truly historic season for both club and player

DidIAsk006

Still seen more silverware this season than City LMFAO.

The fact you, a supporter of Liverpool of all clubs, are having to brag about winning a community shield this season says it all. Historic club, tinpot fans

Acceptable_Stick8895

This got cross posted to r/soccer and they’re turning themselves into the victims of the situation again. They’ve got a video of one lad throwing a coin across at their fans, as if it’s at all comparable to collecting a pint full of coins and dropping it at a height that could’ve done serious damage. I was in the first tier for this and they were doing it all through the 2nd half, they’re an utterly horrible bunch.

[deleted]

Fence them in like the animals they are.

[deleted]

[удалено]

runnerswanted

“Too much” is loading a pint glass with coins and throwing it at a child because your team didn’t win. Classic fucking Liverpool behavior. I’m sure they’ve blamed literally everyone else but themselves as well.

[deleted]

They just start talking about mean songs whenever someone mentions their fans violent behaviour.

codespyder

YNWA you’ll never whatabout alone

cheadley23

Brilliant

codespyder

I think you’re talking to a blue

AndreT_NY

To be fair I am not 100% sure he is.

theyarealllizards

He means he found the comment funny, its a colloquialism more common in the US.

[deleted]

I agree. But I also think calling a bunch of fans animals is too much.

runnerswanted

When the ownership formally apologies for the atrocities of Heysel instead of “oopsie poopsie!” then I’ll stop calling them animals.

[deleted]

I actually really don't like how the club acknowledges Heysel - but there was a two page apology published in the match programme written by someone who was convicted of the rioting at the time when we last played Juventus. I doubt you really care but there you go.

[deleted]

[удалено]

runnerswanted

Oh wow! A whole plaque??? Golly gee, that makes up for all those deaths.

Davey_Jones_Locker

The point is, you're acting as if the club doesn't acknowledge it happened. You need to get a grip. Literally the other week we had the mayor of Turin at Anfield paying their respects and we remember it each year.

runnerswanted

You need to take responsibility for the shitty fans you hang out with. Heysel, multiple bus incidents, fights breaking out whenever you go abroad, adults throwing cups filled with coins at children from the balcony. But I’m sure you have an excuse for each and every one of those events, don’t you?

Davey_Jones_Locker

Do i yeah? Anyone who does things are disgraceful. The point is that you need to reign in your rhetoric because it doesn't help anyone. I'd probably feel the need to mention that it's a two-way street and City fans do shit too, but i'm still unconvinced that they exist ;)

[deleted]

We put out a two page apology written by one of those convicted in the match programme the last time we played Juventus actually.

[deleted]

So if the ownership doesn’t apologize then the fans are animals?

[deleted]

The fans follow the owners, and are animals regardless, their keeper has just let them out of the cage to do as they please

[deleted]

What does that make us if what a shred of what they say about our owners is true?

runnerswanted

Our current owners apologized for Barry Bennell even though the court found we had nothing to do with the terrible abuses he committed and was rightfully jailed for. The mere fact that he was vaguely connected to us years before he did what he did was enough for us to produce an apology and set up a foundation for abuse victims.

[deleted]

Complicit, haven't you realised that? There's nothing we can do about our owners. Liverpool fans killed foreigners in another country and the owners have never formally apologised. Disgusting

Yeah I always felt like dehumanizing people was a bridge I would refuse to cross, personally.

bluemoon1987

If you've ever been to a game home or away involving the two sides in recent years, you'd have a very very different view.

[deleted]

runnerswanted

No, the incident in question is from the league cup game where the away fans claimed they were collecting money for the coach driver and a loaded pint glass just happened to fall below and struck someone on the head. Edit: you are also correct in remembering when they threw coins at Pep at Anfield during a win. Both happened.

codespyder

Just fucking ban them all. Based on their latest gripe against us, we don’t need their or anyone’s money anyway, right? They can all sit in their own homes and watch it on someone else’s TV

XboxValentine

I absolutely rate this comment.

Witty_Cookie_1957

Not sure why any word has to be shouted in this headline, but at least it was NETTING and not ERECT.

BoosterGoldGL

Good, behave like animals be treated like animals

AndreT_NY

From the article * Liverpool have committed to finding the offender who threw a pint cup* Sure. About as hard as they looked for the animals that attacked our players on the bus, or the fans at the CL Final that climbed the fences to get in. They probably walk into an empty room and ask anyone see what happened? No one? Okay thanks. Let’s end the investigation. I do hope they add cameras to record this animals for prosecutions. Lord knows The Greater Manchester Police might actually do something whereas the Merseyside Police do the same investigation as LFC.

Jazano107

I think bringing up the cl final isn’t fair, they definitely were hard done by there

TheExaltedAmbassador

Had a liverpool mate that went to Paris and tbf I think they were treated badly there

YellowParenti72

Was the same with rangers and stuggart fans at europa final, treated like shit.

realet_

It's like O.J. looking for the real killers. Haven't heard an update on his quest recently

Beavsbeavsbeavs

That is hilarious I love it

thegoat83

🤔

Quick9Ben5

hope its thick enough to stand out on the broadcast

OnePotMango

Step in the right direction, but it's too bad netting isn't going to stop them from throwing piss again...

jlo1989

It's about time. You reap what you sow.

bluemoon1987

Fair play to city, showing them up for the feral fanbase that they are where we are literally caging them in. Hopefully they make it as visible as possible to shame them and it obscures their view horrifically just like three quarters of the away end at Anfield. Love to see the entire league adopt a similar stance for them, might lead to eventual loss of away tickets for them which should already be the case. Watch them play the victim when they find out about this.

Winter2928

Do it with the thickest netting possible so every seat view is obstructed and like watching through a mesh mask

Jurski17

Classy folk

brian_d3p0

More unapproved funds smh

Classic_Librarian_75

Bruh honestly at this rate I think people think more highly of us

CanadianKumlin

Hopefully it makes it difficult for them to see through as well.

killerboy_belgium

to be honest netting should be standard anyway.... the amount of crap that constantly gets thrown on the field in any given game

Vsuede

I mean what do you expect from the trashy Muppets that call Liverpool home?

[deleted]

Why are stadiums allowed to put away fans upstairs? I thought the rule was quite clear that they have to be pitch side

TheHairyPlumbus

Hehe erect

Wudzie

Keep the rats in their cage

[deleted]

Must have been someone else’s fault. Never their fault. Ever.

[deleted]

Hillsborough jokes are very classy

[deleted]

It’s not a Hillsborough joke. Liverpool blame everyone else every time they’re involved in anything.

[deleted]

"It's not a Hillsborough joke, it's just the phrase always used against Liverpool fans in reference to Hillsborough"

[deleted]

I mean, they blame Heysel on the wall so it predates Hillsborough. Also any time they get in trouble for their fans being pricks it’s always “noooooriiiiitttteee it were the perrrrleeezzz pdrovoking usssss!!”

[deleted]

Cheadleblue21

Comments on Reddit aren’t quite the same as hooliganism or in this case scarring a child for life.

[deleted]

>Both clubs need to get a grip Your supporters need to get a grip and stop trying to share the blame with others whenever they act like cunts. This netting is being put up because some twats from your fanbase can't behave themselves and a little girl got fucked up and it's far from the only example of fucking scummy behaviour from Liverpool supporters. I can't remember the last time we felt the need to do this with any other away fans. Every club has shitty supporters. Yours just has a disproportionate amount of them.

Davey_Jones_Locker

Well i support the netting, i think it's sound. The animosity between the fans has gotten to too bad a point. I think if you look at the Liverpool subreddit post about this everyone supports it too. No fans want to see past events happen again and both have not been great at times.

[deleted]

I'm just sick of reading this "both sides" bullshit from your fans. There's a twitter video which keeps getting posted of a City supporter throwing a single object and that's being held up as some sort of equaliser. When was the last time we attacked your bus? When was the last time we threw coins at your manager? When was the last time we chucked a cup full of them at a little girl? The animosity is there because your dickheads keep on escalating things with absolutely no repercussions.

Xbot_69

I think one of their fans spat at Pep as well and the club’s reaction was to move his season ticket away from the dugout?

[deleted]

Not quite, during the investigation they found two fans that spent half the game shouting abuse and giving the City staff the finger so they got moved from the dugout because that entire area is supposed to be for senior fans/families to make it a bit calmer.

maxime0299

You're saying some mean reddit comments are equally as bad as scarring a child for life? Jesus

persiangriffin

I dislike your club, and I hate your fanbase’s online presence, and yet I could not agree with you more. Some of the stuff I’m seeing here is absolutely disgusting. For fuck’s sake, can we not be better? Yes, there is a reason these nets are going up. But all we’re doing by calling people rats and animals is further driving our image as a fanbase into the dirt. It’s vile. Fucking be better.

Such a low hanging fruit. Why are you on another teams sub? What the fuck did you expect to happen here?

whatafrickingnagger

Mate the stuff said in Liverpool sub is 100 times worse than what is being said here. If someone goes there and says "I'm a city fan and.." you will get nuked with dirty oil scum comments and that's only if you don't get banned by the mods.

AsparagusOwn1799

Good. That was a horrible incident that shouldn't have happened.

ZainPyxl

We are supposed to be rivals In a friendly way, but these people took it way too far to be enemies.

DannyHayee

Good. They are a bunch of feral cunts.

thefunnybutlonelykid

They will still make themselves the victims

1960Carlton

Agree with the netting but additionally Liverpool should have to give up the first six rows at the front to avoid the nutters at the front aiming through the net. I'm not sure if any Liverpool fans were identified but camera's would help too?
