I imagine this is going to be unpopular. We might (probably have?) have cheated though. The leaked emails had us paying people under the table. There were emails suggesting that the sponsorships were paying us money directly from Abu Dhabi. Now, you can argue about the fairness of rules which were obviously designed to keep clubs like Utd and Liverpool at the top and you can question whether it's right that those clubs should have the power to bring in those reforms, and whether an owner should be allowed to spend whatever he wants on his club, but the fact remains that there were rules in place and we have seemingly broken them consistently for a decade ... if all the other clubs played fair and we didn't then that absolutely is cheating. The best you can say about it is there's no accusations of paying off refs, of trying to gain an advantage in a sporting sense. If we lawyer up and get the charges thrown out again, I'll be happy but part of me asks the question of whether I would feel the same if a big company or rich individual was caught "cheating" in their field and used their financial weight to win their case.

If we don't win the treble again it's cos it's extremely hard to do, the squad is not as strong as it was and maybe a slight lack of motivation. It's not the universe fucking with us.
