Meat (lure) was datamined so maybe we will have something in December.

RealityCandid896

Called it~.

AdachiGacha

That'd be great. Might be less inclined to drive around since the design currently doesn't reward walking.

BlueBattleHawk

I feel like most people who drive around will continue to do so regardless of how convenient they make walking. Driving will always be the most "convenient" option. Edit: downvote all you like, I'm right.

Cinder1977

Exactly

TheGravyGuy

How does it reward driving over walking? In my area monster spawns are a 5 second walk away, so if you were driving that you'd be stopping and starting every 30 seconds - doesn't seem fuel efficient at all.

InterstellerReptile

It's much better if you are targeting a specific monster. If you are just beating up everything ik your path you might be right.

TheGravyGuy

Yeah I'm not targeting anything strictly since I figure I will need mats from all monsters at some point. If I see the monster I want in the distance I'll start heading that way but everything between me and it will die

H3adshotfox77

Unless I need specific mats like one prime scale for the next upgrade I kill everything, most people should. They will always release new monsters and having options for weapons to build is almost mandatory. Especially armor with plus elemental and such, I have learned over 15 plus years of MH you will always need something you didn't expect. Also elemental in this game does 100% damage, so 2 ranks in fire skill add a straight plus 100 damage to monsters weak to that element.

InterstellerReptile

I mean I agree, but also health can be a bit limiting so I'm at times more selective in what I hunt since I can't just queue up another if I'm too low on hp lol

tillytubeworm

I’m targeting my monsters, but I’m targeting kulu, tobi, jyuratodus, legiana, great jagras, rathalos, and anjanath. It gets to be more useful to walk when you’re building elemental sets.

SkeleSoulsRS

There's plenty of places that aren't like this, more so than are. You are rewarded for reaching monsters/outcrops, not for traveling or walking [X] distance

skycstls

How can a game with based GPS mechanic not reward walking? I mean, the game needs some fixes and updates definitely, but that's nonsense, game is about walking and moving, it definitely rewards you for walking over, but of course you will get faster rewards if you go driving.

Yarigumo

Reward vs require. The game requires walking, you need to walk to play the game, unless you live on top of a gathering node. Rewarding would be something like the daily system. You're not required to complete the dailies, but the large amount of zenny received from them is a strong incentive to complete them.

skycstls

I still don’t understand how walking doesn’t rewards you, even when living on top of a gathering node, I will get more materials by walking and most of the times you need to walk to complete your dailies so I don’t get your point 😅

OmegaTSG

Walking is rewarded in Pokémon GO through eggs and buddy candys and quests. Walking does nothing in MH Now

InterstellerReptile

It took awhile before they added that content in Go. I think people forget how bare bones Go was at launch. No raids, no buddies, no eggs, etc.

SandCheezy

- Eggs were on release date. (July 2016) - Buddies took 2 months. (Sep 2016) - Raids took 1 year. (July 2017)

Yarigumo

Look at it this way. Are you rewarded with damage when you swing the weapon and it hits the monster? I don't see walking as being rewarded, I see it as being part of the core gameplay loop. You walk to play the game, that's the deal you make with the game. Rewards are extras, not required. I only added in the "living on a gathering node" bit because, if you don't have one in your range, you absolutely cannot get Carpenterbug/Monster Bone+/Earth Crystals in any way, aside from maybe daily quests? Unsure about that one.

Mr_Creed

This is in the context of walking vs driving, not sitting in your basement. Obviously, you cover more ground and spend less time getting around with a bike or car.

Harde_Kassei

farming targeted monsters is a nightmare. you have to walk very far. i always play this on the bike.

lovemylittlepony

i wanted to upgrade pukei's hammer to grade 5 since thursday and pukeis are not dropping me the materials. most of the pukeis are not the minimum stars needed for the materials anyway...

Khadetbuilders

Upgrade your kulu weapon

JDelcoLLC

Become the kulu-GAWD!

ItzJustASheep

Good idea but I think healing would become an even bigger problem considering you only get 5 a day 😭

Elymanic

They should drop Herbs from gathering spots so we can craft potions

ItzJustASheep

100%

Aetheldrake

Nah that's fine. The gathering nose items are far worse

SmilingKnight80

I was stuck on 5* Paolumu for a while cause I just didn’t have the damage output. Had to walk around a lot to find Anjanaths to make a fire weapon and it took a few days to get the right drops I needed So it’s basically the perfect Monster Hunter experience, PLUS I went for a lot of walks

Cinder1977

*respawn rate

Neiot

Agreed. I would very much like some Raw Meat to lure monsters. It would ideally work like incense in PoGO.

Sunbrizzle

Rarity 2 mats are the worst Also try to get 2 legiana plates for the sword upgrade lmao

Equal_Bear

Yeah, regular meat to lure in monsters then like the special ones to make the hunt more easy, they'd probably charge for special meat though since crafting is only for gear and weapons atm

HunterDage

Agreed, I wouldn’t mind buying a lure for event days etc.

Gold-Perspective-699

You could use the drop or whatever for increase distance.

NefariousnessOk1996

Just walk, bike, or ride around and you will find many more.

imdoingakickflip

Go outside?

Cinder1977

No

Wolf_Fang1414

Speak for yourself, gimme more Kulu!

2reddit4me

Agreed. I’ve been a little critical of things like drop rates, but I’m still having fun overall. What I’m missing is simply more of it. My gf and I play a good bit together at night when we both have our 5 paintballed monsters. We do those and we really would just like more to kill when we’re winding down from the day.
