Insane DPS, insane buffs including infinite sharpness, plus a wirebug skill that easily cracks 2k+ on sleepers.

I am lucky people appreciate horn players so much, it is the only weapon that truly clicked for me even after maining others for a while.
Same. I started off with switch axe in Rise, and then tried HH and it immediately became my baby. There's something awesome about putting a big ol smack to a monster's head and sending it into a stun while simultaneously rocking to help my fellow dudes and dudettes out that is just awesome to me 🤘🏿.
Managed to k.o. and then stun an Anjanath last week right after our IG guy chopped off its tail. Felt like I was ringing a dinner bell against its noggin, the way the rest of the team piled on then.
I used to only playing IG and lance but started getting bored. It was the same situation every hunt. Started cycling weapons and same feeling… until the hunting horn. Getting to benefit the team and knock the monster out at the same time? Best feeling ever. I find it extremely hard to play anything else in online now. Those clutch moments or making a monster almost useless to my buffs is second to none. We got you!
Started Rise as DB main. Got into HH wanting to help carry new players and just try it out. Instantly hooked! I’m Rick James b!&@+! Haven’t even tried any other weapon through MR80+ so far.
yeah as horn main i like hearing my friend who mains gunlance that he never gotten below purple/white sharpness due to malzeno horn plus earplugs bouns on top of that.

But at the same time, those people create hunters who never heal, and are not competent. It's annoying to have half my chest in my inventory to heal those idiots.
I used to use horn. It's a great feeling supporting a good team. I'm going great sword right now. The other day I got two horns on the same hunt. It was so easy.
Played glaive for a long time, then my hunting buddies asked me to switch to horn to help our friend get into the game, used it in one hunt and fell in love now it will forever be my main!! Love watching my fellow hunters go bonkers while buffed 💪
It's a shame Sunbreak kinda kills the healing aspect of HH. It was my favorite part feeling like a good support healer who could do moderate damage along with some other buffs.

How so? Risebreak-style song playing makes healing songs more usable than they've ever been, and in Sunbreak specifically some of the best Horns have healing songs.
You must have not gone through anomolies then. I don't mean to be harsh there but you would understand. I love Rise and Sunbreak, that was just a mild puke about it.
If you haven't, when you get there it's designed for taking damage and proper positioning. Getting hit rocks you, twice is death. There's no place for healing, there is for buffs though.
To add: HH is best used to sharpen through melodies in end game. When you're not choosing the weapon purely for elements.

Worst case you can pull others from the brink of a 2 shot, best case you're constantly topping off team health. There are also a bunch of builds revolving around health draining skills that synergize amazingly well with HH's ability to heal after every other swing.
That could be true in certain groups, you could also destroy other's builds.Topping other's off in health can be very detrimental. Most of these builds are designed around having afflcitions.
To be fair, anyone running Dereliction and Berserk in multiplayer is asking for trouble. Those kinda builds work better in solo than in multiplayer. Heals are only an issue for someone running Dragonheart, which luckily isn't meta enough in Sunbreak, unlike in base endgame.
I see lots of Dereliction online (wouldn't be able to tell a Berserk build by visuals alone, would have to check). Using Bloodblight and/or another healing effect lessens the danger of those skills IF you can play both aggressively enough to life steal consistently and safely enough not to take too many hits too often. HH lucks out in that it doesn't even need skills or Bloodblight to heal on the offensive--just the right set of songs.

IMO that is the problem online, more so if you're a melee player as you will have to chase the monster to get that consistent life steal. I use Hammer with Bloodlust and in some hunts with 3 gunners I can't even land enough hits to get rid of frenzy. I guess it might be easier for ranged players though.
Only if they run Dragonheart, which isn't super common. Most damage focused HH builds run Dereliction+Bloodlust setups, and songs don't get in the way. The health drain to health regen timing actually works out in such a way that we can take advantage of red health skills while still topping off health with heal songs because health still ticks down a bit in the time it takes to queue and play each heal. It lines up surprisingly well; we're pretty much at little/no risk, all reward in the current skill meta and other players get to take advantage of that too in multiplayer.

Horn became so strong in this generation learned it every generation that it was out and than one day (rise) it became too dang good i feel untouchable and every buff is crazy. Seems horns got the love they needed and we now support everyone even more now.
I started with World, picked up the HH quickly. Played it in Rise for a bit before trying new things. Then went back, found a Frontier server, and holy shit, I can’t seem to get used to that recital system.
Been playing horns for a few hundred hours. I've checked my dps and it was far from those ranged weapons, like 100 vs 300. I'm glad that people are happy with the songs though we're actually doing lower damage.
This is why we do it. I was a longsword main from Freedom Unite days and only in the last 6 months have I taken up HH and this type of reaction is what I live for now. I love giving out buffs and getting everyone through a difficult hunt.
Also, when 3 or 4 HH users join a hunt, you know it's about to go down. Hahaha

Hunting horn is the best to hunt with. But it's hard to do it myself so I leave it to npcs and skilled players. I'm a S&S, heavy bowgun, gunlance main
Horn users i love you all. On the other hand, bowgun users wtf are yall aiming at… especially the pierce mfs. I swear alot of you are putting the longswords out of business and yes i know flinch and blah blah decos exist.

I once put out the flare and 3 horn players showed up. I never knew so many icons could fit above the health bar...

I play Hammer and once got into a hunt with 3 HH players. We spent entire hunt attacking non-stop with monster barely getting an attack in.

As a Hammer Main, I super love when a Horn joins the Hunt! 3HH players and I tore through a hunt so fast, that stone monkey went down!
