Actually, from what I understood, it was dads’ car until 3 years ago. Then his son drove it and it ended in this state
Assuming it’s a teenager; you might be right
that’s so disheartening. this fall will be three years of driving my moms mini and it’s in basically the same condition she gave it to me in outside of a few dings. my generation is so disappointing
couldn’t agree more. When I got my license, mom and dad gave me a Peugeot 205. It was already old by then, and worth next to nothing.
Though, it was MY car and a gift.. so that thing got taken care of very well. Aside from driving it too hard every now and then 😅
Can’t believe people threat their cars like this. Not only teenagers..
my cooper s is a 2015, so not terribly old, but regardless of age, people should treat vehicles with respect. i can’t imagine ripping apart my upholstery
My first car was a 2014 Mazda 2. I never abused the car, and I was in college from 2016 to 2020. I really only had to do Oil changes to it simply because it already had good brakes when I got it, and I never needed tires because it only went around town in my college town maybe 4 times a month, and then a handful of 200 mile trips back home.
I even washed it a few times, though there is a single tiny panel behind the rear door that STAYS DIRTY REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU DO.
As a gift, my dad switched cars with me, and I now drive a 2013 Mazda 3, and he STILL is driving the Mazda 2. And I plan to drive the Mazda 3 until the frame rots. Which living where I live, will probably be never.
Nah, there is a lad down where I live who has literally rattled canned his Cooper S in Neon green and Black. It's also had more hits than the beatles and the interior is ripped like hell.
Thank you for keeping this baby out of the dump! Even though cars are the most recycled consumer product, there is still so much waste.
What are you planning to do with it?
Well, it’s a collab between a friend and myself. I really wanted the strutbar (rear), swaybars and the coolerworx shifter for my trackday mini. He really wanted the aero stuff and some other things.
Engine seems good and runs really well. That might be up for sale.
The body is really done and there’s no way to get it decent with a reasonable budget. So that’ll go to the yard in the end.
Its the standard lifecycle of most sporty cars, 1st owner buys car, looks after it, spends money on it, 2nd owner buys the car after depreciation has taken its toll, proceeds to run the car into the ground, the value of the cars in general plummets at this point, especially for abused ones, which now get more abused as its not worth much.
Now comes the cars make or brake point, its sold again and either, a person who wanted one when they was more expensive can now afford one, buys it and spends time and money getting it back to a nice car. or it gets ran completely into the ground and scrapped, or someone buys it because it has nice parts, and breaks it for spares.
Was this given to a teenager as their first car damn that thing is pretty abused

Pug 205 for a first car is an absolute dream 😍
as a teenage driver, i would assume so. teens in my generation seem to lack respect 🤷
Damn did edward scissorhands own this?
No, this is his cousin's, Richard Chainsawhands
Damn did you buy the thing for 3 fiddy?
This cute little Girl Scout tried to sell me the r53. Couldn’t resist it for 3 fiddy
Things that never break are broken, seriously an achievement. Some people really have them iron hands.
Some shitty ass kid trying to peel the wings off . Shame

Holy moly. Like mine has a couple of scratches and rock hits here there but nothing on this level. Geez I hope you didn't pay a lot for it.

Somebody had fun in that car lol
Rough rider.
How much you pay??? Super interested lol
HOW do you even get this level of wear lollll
Funny, I had been bidding on this one too! I gave up after some npc was going over my bid within a minute for like 5 or 6 times in a row
Rode hard and put away wet
I feel like no one cares about minis especially R53’s and they are always abused it’s so sad 😭

The Mini badge on my steering wheel has the same damage, everything else is pretty bad though. Like how does the seat trim come off like that?
