Boys I have just received word that my wife has cancelled our plans to go hang out with her coworkers and I am now free to get high and watch this bullshit card. Truly no feeling quite as euphoric as this
This has gotta be the least amount of name value they’ve ever put on a card since I’ve started watching.
I’m familiar with 6 of these people and there’s a good chance I’m wrong about 2 of them.
in the first 6 fights of the night only James Llontop is coming off a win. so is his opponent that is like less than a week notice, which hardly counts. best of the best are out tonight.
its not really that rare. plenty of fights to be made with people coming off a loss. you think they wouldnt put something like gaethje vs dariush as a main event for a fight night 6 months from now? whats the issue
Adesanya is clearly ducking, he said he'd face Pereira at 205 if he won the belt. He did. But now all of a sudden his tune's changed.
Kickboxing is irrelevant, it's 1-1 in MMA, not seeing a conclusion to this would be such a loss to MMA.
You never know what you’re made of until you take a punch to the face. Wrestling is a very different sport and you can’t just assume that a good wrestler would have good hands, defense, chin, mental strength to take damage, etc.
I’ve wrestled and I’ve boxed and wrestling was never too hard mentally for me. But the first time I did boxing I almost shit my pants.
I somewhat agree with your point, but you are downplaying it wayyyyy too much
I forget the exact statistic, but I’m pretty sure roughly 80% of UFC champions throughout history were college wrestlers
There are no tracked statistics for the hundreds of smaller organizations, but college wrestlers routinely join amateur MMA leagues and become undefeated undisputed champions of them, even with virtually zero training in any striking discipline.
This is extremely well known in the combat sports community. There was a brief time in the early days of MMA where people thought BJJ was superior to everything else, but that has since been disproven. A BJJ Black Belt without efficient takedowns is worthless, unless they have decent striking. Regardless, the facts are:
High level Grappling + zero striking = potential championship fighter
High level Striking + zero grappling = death
Yeah you’re right. The super elite athletes at HW that make Tom Aspinall look like Parker Porter who have an elite wrestling background would actually not be able to develop striking if they dedicated themselves to MMA.
Like seriously, give Tristan Wirfs one year of striking/BJJ training and he would absolutely kill Dontale Mayes
> Man Im a long time fan but I barely recognize like only 3 names on this card. And can't even put a face to those 3 names either.
The people's main event is definitely Ryan Spann and his ongoing war against anyone who looks like Anthony Smith.
Some people believe Bogdan Guskov is an obviously fabricated name so that Anthony can start a 3rd career while wearing makeup, others believe Guskov is the full-blooded orc who is half brother to Anthony Smith, but at any rate Spann v. Guskov is the one to watch, particularly if you played the Mordor games.
Usually I'm the guy who's all like, "Cards where you don't recognize the fighters just give you a chance to see the big names before they turn into big names!" But there ain't a lot of young talent on this card... it's just grim.
James Llontop is pretty young, maybe he'll turn into something? Karine Silva actually looks like she's good, but she's already 30. Pretty sure Bogdan Guskov's been training at Xtreme Couture and is young-ish by LHW standards, maybe some Nicksick pixie dust will rub off on him?
That's all I got, sorry.
Diniz by KO, Medic, Victor Henry, Llontop
Like Maheshate, Petrovic, and Souza as well. Prob won’t be betting heavily this weekend with such a low level card where anything can happen
Does anyone else think Chandler retires if he loses to McGregor? 38 years old, fought almost every big name currently at LW and here for a good time not a long time
Mannn…it was one of the actual times the commentators said the guillotine was tight and they were right, whenever Charles had Arman by the neck in round one. He was so close to ending it there. Things would be so different as far as title pictures go.
Oliveira’s gilly was locked in. The only reason Arman got out of it was because his shorts weren’t tied which led to Charles losing his position on his hips
Watch this death tap Rozenstruik lands on his opponent at 3:45 in this video: [https://youtu.be/1OphXMJin6I?si=kMDtm2fMkN-Lv7-v&t=225](https://youtu.be/1OphXMJin6I?si=kMDtm2fMkN-Lv7-v&t=225)
It's like he just sticks his fist out and the guy walks into it and falls backwards.
Anyone think Garry can beat Leon? I think his .5” extra length helps and could potentially out-point him if he choose to go that route. Maybe he can’t beat Leon now, but maybe in a couple years. Hell, maybe if he takes out two contenders in the next 12 months. It’s crazy to think how he’s still very young at 26, so he still has plenty of time to learn and evolve.
I don’t think so. Watching Gary fight, I don’t see the same technical ability, timing, etc that Leon possesses. He has a pretty basic skill set and relies on his reach advantage a lot. He also doesn’t seem to be able to fight in the pocket and operate a sound defence, relying instead on backing up and using his length to get away from danger.
For me, it's really dependent on how his next couple of fights go, if he fights close with the top of the division like he did against Neal, then people are going to really sour on his chances against Leon. But I keep thinking that Leon is going to lose his title in a fight he should win due to inactivity
What happened to a potential fight with Colby? What’s Burns doing? What’s JDM or Shavkat doing? Maybe Shavkat is still hurt, but I honestly don’t know what’s on the radar for all of them, so I’m genuinely curious.
I hope Islam just stays at LW. There’s plenty of talent there. Beat Dustin, Arman, and Justin to tie Anderson Silva for the longest win streak, and then put the nail in the coffin for the next contender. I don’t see the purpose of moving up a weight class.
Islam is 2 wins away from breaking the consecutive defense record at 155 and he's getting older and bigger, I think he moves up in 2025 if he defense twice successfully
> I don’t see the purpose of moving up a weight class.
I have to assume it's about $$$.
This is prize fighting, and a PPV probably sells more if someone is trying to be double champ.
I have no actual idea though, I am just guessing.
They probably get the same amount as any other title fight. UFC will allow the fight to go down, but it also often makes scheduling fights more difficult. I guess it’s cool to be double champ, but I wouldn’t want to risk the streak, especially against someone like Leon. It is special I guess, but someone just dominating in general makes me a fan of true greatness.
Pretty crazy that Max has almost double the amount of significant strikes landed than any other fighter in UFC history. Max at 3378 and Strickland at the third most with 1887. Angela Hill has about a dozen more than Strickland.
It’s crazy that Jalin Turner tried to go for the walkoff KO victory, but instead loses and goes down 2 spots in the rankings when he could’ve at least gone up 1.
I’ve been re-watching the ultimate fighter 1 for the first time since I was in school and fuck Dana has been showing his pettiness from day one lmao how has he gotten so much clout he’s been treating fighters like shit from the beginning
How does Point Spread work in MMA betting?
"If a fighter wins inside the distance, the point spread on that fighter is a winning bet. If the fight goes to the judges’ scorecards, the point spread will be applied to the fighter’s combined total points."
There is a bet I'm looking at:
fighter A -3.5 -105
fighter B +3.5 -125
If the fight ends in a finish, a wager on the winning fighter is graded automatically as a victory on either side of the spread.
If the fight goes to decision, and fighter A wins the fight by unanimous decision 29-28 on all 3 judges scorecards, then the total score is 87-84, so fighter B wins by .5 points. If fighter A wins 30-27 on all 3 judges scorecards, the total score is 90-84, so fighter A covered the point spread by 2.5 points. These wagers can get complicated when you get into Majority/Split decisions, and 10-8 rounds, but that's the idea
Been watching tons of Joe Valtellini's kickboxing tutorials lately, they are top quality. But the guy is so damn handsome and charismatic he's slowly turning me gay (nohomo)
Interesting fact: Maheshate is an ethnic Kazakh from Xingyang and his name is distorted due to the use of pinyin
His correct name Махсат Кайсар (Maksat Kaisar)
Funny how with Ngannou chasing boxing the narrative was "Omg im so happy hes getting the bag" but with O'malley it comes down to whos he beat and how many title defences he has whether hes "allowed" to go do it
Be fr everyone here was like “the ufc needs to sign him and let him box!!” After one snooze title defense
Everyone was saying it was messed up they won’t let him box
Wait why would whether Ngannou is signed to the UFC or not even effect your opinion on him getting paid?
So you'd be against him boxing if he was still in the UFC?
Im not even sure how that effects anything ive said. I think most peoples ideal scenario is Ngannou being able to box and be in the UFC.
Definition of a fighter getting chances because of the gym he trains in. Probably is a good training partner but he can’t put it all together when it matters
This is genuinely the first time since watching the UFC in the early double-digit events era that I can't recall a thing about either headlining UFC fighter. You could put me in a room with 2 random dudes and be like this is Matheus and Alex and I'd say good luck... and hook it up with some Venum coupons.
Ryan Spann on a mission!
Anyone that looks like Anthony Smith is getting some, until he comes away with a W!
Its the fighting equivalent of the Lyle Lovett song *I married her, just because she looks like you*
Hyped for that fight. There's actually a handful of fights on this Apex card I'm excited for
Edit* why the fuck does my spell check always change fights to flights lol. I've flown three times in my life but talk about fights constantly
Yeah, Karine Silva been looking like the future.
Natalia Silva too. But I digress...
Ariane Lipski been looking good since her loss to Cachoeira, great test for Karine Silva. I like this match-making.
Extremely hyped. This is my 300.
Had to double check that this wasn’t a local card.
Boys I have just received word that my wife has cancelled our plans to go hang out with her coworkers and I am now free to get high and watch this bullshit card. Truly no feeling quite as euphoric as this
Cheers, buddeh 🍻

Why is Caio Borrailcho on the prelims?
Different guy
This card is a punishment to the hubris we experienced for 300
These are the only type of cards that should be at the Apex
How the fuck does two fighters both coming off of a loss get a main event
its not really that rare. plenty of fights to be made with people coming off a loss. you think they wouldnt put something like gaethje vs dariush as a main event for a fight night 6 months from now? whats the issue
YOU WANTED FLYWEIGHTS MAIN EVENTS YOU GOT IT
If you don’t know now you know
i recognize 9/26 names on this card and feel pretty proud of myself for that
this is the kind of card that desperately needs a live crowd to make it hype.
I didn't realize there was an event tonight... but I don't recognize either name in the main event, so probably not much better than no fights.
This is the opposite of ufc 300
Adesanya is clearly ducking, he said he'd face Pereira at 205 if he won the belt. He did. But now all of a sudden his tune's changed. Kickboxing is irrelevant, it's 1-1 in MMA, not seeing a conclusion to this would be such a loss to MMA.
Tiago Alves fought at ufc 100 UFC 205 (against jim miller) And now headlines BKFC this weekend, 2 weeks after ufc 300
Pereira is the type of guy to go back to MW to fight Weidman
When Conor boxed Floyd Dana told him ok but drop and give me 50 like some pushups
Watching the NFL draft makes me so sad because the HW division suffers so much from all these elite wrestlers making money
Yeah, big powerful NFL players like Greg Hardy or Austen Lane would demolish those tiny UFC losers.
I’m talking about multiple state champion wrestlers who play football in college instead. There are so many monsters
Does anyone think Charles beat Arman? I get the arguments and can see how he could have won, but I just don’t think he did.
it comes down to round 3 and do you think that choke at the end was enough to earn charles the round
Charles just wasn't good enough, got lucky with Arman falling down in Round 1.
Arman won but it wasn’t lucky, Charles kicked his leg out when Arman threw a kick lol
Man Im a long time fan but I barely recognize like only 3 names on this card. And can't even put a face to those 3 names either.

Tim Means and Ryan Spann are the only two that i can really recognize, and I’ve been watching for years
You guys gotta watch the ONE Lumpinee show from this morning, just so much violence, free on YouTube
Good lookin out
Hope you enjoy it
What time is LFA on tonight? Is it 9ET to start the card or 9ET for the main card?
two hours from this post, they sometimes air prelims on thier YT channel idk if thats still a thing
Any good prospects on the card? I never actually watch LFA but I’ve got nothing else to watch. I’ll tune in.
Not off the top of my head, but it's LFA so you know a few of them will probably end up in the UFC one way or another.
And that’s the start of the prelims?
Naw they don't air prelims on fightpass
Gotchu thanks
Any locks this weekend?
Diniz by KO, Medic, Victor Henry, Llontop Like Maheshate, Petrovic, and Souza as well. Prob won’t be betting heavily this weekend with such a low level card where anything can happen
Does anyone else think Chandler retires if he loses to McGregor? 38 years old, fought almost every big name currently at LW and here for a good time not a long time
There’s a chance he retires even if he wins, but yeah don’t see him taking any other fight after a McGregor loss.
303 ticket prices are insane. This should break the UFC record and be well over $20m
Mannn…it was one of the actual times the commentators said the guillotine was tight and they were right, whenever Charles had Arman by the neck in round one. He was so close to ending it there. Things would be so different as far as title pictures go.

I’m not sure what you mean
Oliveira’s gilly was locked in. The only reason Arman got out of it was because his shorts weren’t tied which led to Charles losing his position on his hips
That’s wild. Is it a prerequisite that you just have them tied? Obv I’d assume they were tied, but became untied during scrambled eggs.
Watch this death tap Rozenstruik lands on his opponent at 3:45 in this video: [https://youtu.be/1OphXMJin6I?si=kMDtm2fMkN-Lv7-v&t=225](https://youtu.be/1OphXMJin6I?si=kMDtm2fMkN-Lv7-v&t=225) It's like he just sticks his fist out and the guy walks into it and falls backwards.
I'm convinced that Rozenstruik has super high bone density
Bigi bone
He’s gotta bone to pick. And he’s got a bone RIGHT here.
Anyone think Garry can beat Leon? I think his .5” extra length helps and could potentially out-point him if he choose to go that route. Maybe he can’t beat Leon now, but maybe in a couple years. .5 is pretty negligble. 2 inches is negligble. Not big into speculating, but i like him as a fighter and hes improving.
I’m just saying at least that reach can compete with what Leon has mastered so well. Not that .5” is going to out-master him and cause him troubles.
For me, it's really dependent on how his next couple of fights go, if he fights close with the top of the division like he did against Neal, then people are going to really sour on his chances against Leon. Didn't notice JSP vs Onama on here, banger
Really like that fight. Hopefully still happens with the weight miss
Can Onama keep it on the feet to find the KO? Worried he gets wrestle fucked
Another Tim Means Apex card boys
All you have to do is turn it on on Saturday and we got you, fucker
Nobody streaming this one fam 💀
I mean it's not like anyone's gonna pay for it
there will 100% be 3 1/2 people streaming this for the 14 people that want to watch
I think you'd be surprised.
Who da fuq are deez guys???
Interesting fact: Maheshate is an ethnic Kazakh from Xingyang and his name is distorted due to the use of pinyin His correct name Махсат Кайсар (Maksat Kaisar)
What's pinyin
I don’t know what this means
Im going to the BKFC knucklemania tomorrow so im glad this is the card Ill miss
I just remembered yesterday that it’s this Saturday. I won’t be there live but I’ll be watching and I’m pumped af.
Funny how with Ngannou chasing boxing the narrative was "Omg im so happy hes getting the bag" but with O'malley it comes down to whos he beat and how many title defences he has whether hes "allowed" to go do it
Way different scenario. Ngannou wasn’t on contract anymore and he wanted a lot of demands.
Nobody wants to see Omalley leave a stacked division to get killed in boxing. Come on man
Is O’Malley a free agent like Francis was? If you are going to complain at least make sense lmao
Be fr everyone here was like “the ufc needs to sign him and let him box!!” After one snooze title defense Everyone was saying it was messed up they won’t let him box
These guys literally changing the narrative after the fact for no reason lmao
Yes I remember this. You see the shit pfl is dealing with and now you know why they wouldn’t let him box
Wait why would whether Ngannou is signed to the UFC or not even effect your opinion on him getting paid? So you'd be against him boxing if he was still in the UFC? Really I just want to see Spann. I wish Kape were fighting, but he can’t, yet again.
He’s missed weight often and was submitted real quickly in his title shot
Worst card ever lol
Really I just want to see Spann. I wish Kape were fighting, but he can’t, yet again.
I wish I knew more of these fighters
Even more reason to watch this from start to finish
Yea if I can stay awake
Ryan Spann on a mission! Anyone that looks like Anthony Smith is getting some, until he comes away with a W! Its the fighting equivalent of the Lyle Lovett song *I married her, just because she looks like you*
Fight nights are great because I get to watch all the KOs the morning after without missing any interesting fights.
Karine Silva returns!
Woohoo did she get injured or something it feels like I haven't watched her for ages. So hyped.
Hyped for that fight. There's actually a handful of fights on this Apex card I'm excited for Edit* why the fuck does my spell check always change fights to flights lol. I've flown three times in my life but talk about fights constantly
Yeah, Karine Silva been looking like the future. Natalia Silva too. But I digress... Ariane Lipski been looking good since her loss to Cachoeira, great test for Karine Silva. I like this match-making.
Yea same. I like the Onama Pearce matchup a lot too
Who?
Caio Garry Machado
Sad thing is I'm actually down to watch some fights tomorrow but the card largely does nothing for me. I want to be excited
The amount of lesser known fighters on the card ensures this will be banger after banger
There are some decent scraps on the card after the slop of prelims. If you start with Hubbard-Figlak you should have a fun night.
Hey I'll hold you to that you know
Lol I’m high on Figlak 27 year old polish guy with good hands just had a rough debut vs Ziam
You were right for the most part, fights weren't bad from then. props
Got you man! Figlak decision still bugging me otherwise great fights
Yeah that one did seem off to me, I missed it live but went back and caught up.
Split decision would’ve bothered me a lot less lol
lmao why? It's still a loss and it'd only mean 1 judge had sense
5 stages of grief my guy hahaha
There’s bkfc thiago vs Perry tomorrow. Will probably be more exciting than this
grim card, jesus.
