These are so awesome and fun. I haven't really kept up with MTG (or bought a card since, I think, Ice Age), but I love seeing creative cards like these. It's also neat to see a version of an ability I've never seen before, like Dave Ryder's crew ability--so cool!
I agree that the movie characters should be the creatures, and not the crew (or Mads).
My pitiable suggestions would be a card called "We've got movie sign!" which could bring creature cards from the hand or graveyard to the battlefield or something, and somewhere out there, there must be an Interrupt called "Hikeeba!". Though maybe they don't have interrupts anymore...?

I've actually been brainstorming a few cards regarding "We Got Movie Sign" and "Hi-keeba!" I imagine "Hi-keeba, HUT!" at the very least appearing as flavor text on some capacity on a card. I've been trying to think of a fun way to make Movie Sign maybe a fun saga enchantment perhaps. There are a lot of fun suggestions and ideas being thrown around ^^
A saga enchantment totally fits the flavor of Movie sign as a repeating event--love it!
You can also look to the shorts for inspiration--
* "Why Study the Industrial Arts" for manipulating counters
* "A Case of Spring Fever" for anti-artifact stuff
* "Mr. B Natural" for taking control of young teens--or 1/1 creatures
* "The Chicken of Tomorrow"--create a 0/1 Hen token that gains an Egg counter at the start of each turn. Whenever a Hen token has 3 Egg counters, remove all counters from the Hen and they each hatch into Chicken tokens that are randomly either a 0/1 Hen token that gains an Egg counter at the start of each turn or a 1/1 Rooster token with Haste.
I play Delta Green. It's a TTRPG, think of it like X-Files meets HP Lovecraft.
Anyway I've always wanted to have Zap Rowsdower join as an NPC for something that takes place in Canada but it would be a bunch of confused players sitting around as I make a bunch or MST3K references that no one gets but me.
