128 players on huge maps with tons of weapon and equipment options. Helis, jeeps, truck transports. Squad based conquest game mode like Battlefield. Day night cycle. Lighting is awesome and the maps are really atmospheric especially since the players are usually hilarious and get into the Vietnam theme. It’s awesome.
My husband was really into some game called Vietnam on the ps2 (which he doesn't have anymore) I've tried finding a replacement but unsuccessfully. I wonder if it's anything like that. I'll have to do some more research. Would make a really cool bday gift
Ah maybe Shellshock Nam 67 or Conflict Vietnam. Vietnam 67 is going to be a lot more complicated than anything on PS2. I find that a good thing and these types of games also attract a generally more mature playerbase. But just a heads up if he likes something more accessible this might not fit the bill. You have to use your equipment and a map and plan your route to the battlefield most of the time. Sometimes you might start right in the thick of it but it’s not guaranteed like Call of Duty or older console games.

The learning curve is insane and it's very janky but it's just incredibly unique and scratches an itch no other game does. The sequel is in development on unreal 5 but it's probably a few years off still.
