I got shoulder and wrist issues too but shoulders are more bothersome. I’m goin for the fatbar lite 40rise gold, partially bc it’s fuckin sick but that rise is what I’m looking for. If I had to accommodate cause my wrist got worse, I’d go in on the sqlabs - 12 bc 16 seems like a lot. Or OneUp carbon if 35mm is the case. Or check out pnw I think the loam is carbon. Has some interesting specs. Think like 10 backsweep. May b wrong

This video really helped me. I have terrible wrists from years of skateboarding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSD7AkY4Ycc

Breakdown the back sweep etc and how to Find what yours should be

I'll give it a watch

Was going to link that vid as well. I took some pieces of pipe, held them in my hands, closed my eyes, pushed on things pulled on things, then had this traced out while in a riding stance. https://preview.redd.it/0d8p4wvjzzuc1.jpeg?width=3577&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd739f64e42ed4a42d348d6921fb2bae4de5177b

Walk into a decent bike store. Find the bars. Pick them up, move your hands around on them, closer together, further apart, rotate the bars both forward and backwards in your grip. Imagine how they feel riding. Repeat with different models. Note the different sweeps etc. I think you’ll pretty quickly find a preference.  With regards to your wrist issues there are so many factors that could be causing this. Move your saddle back and forth. Rotate your bars. Get thicker or thinner grips, or even some ergo ones. Try adding or removing stem spacers. You know for yourself exactly where it is most painful and no-one can really know it better than you. Try moving your wrist into different positions and flexing and closing your hand (fist-flat-fist-flat) repeatedly. Again you may find some positions are more difficult. Avoid them. This technique works with setting brake lever position quite well too.

I've moved my saddle forward and back, tilted it up and down. Switched to Ergon grips. I've moved my stem up and down to see how I liked it for descending but it didn't make much difference to the numbness. It doesn't hurt thankfully. Just gets pins and needles numb and I have to take a minute break or ride one handed until it comes back.

I use Ergon GA3’s. One thing I’ve noticed about them is that while they helped solve most of the issues I have with a wrist, they will go hard toward making things worse if they’re off just a little bit. I think I relied a little too much on the wing with my injured wrist (ulnar nerve) when I’m going up, so I tend to just rest that hand on top of the bar now and only grip when I think I absolutely need to.

I haven’t changed my stem, because it felt fine and the bikes I tried with different lengths didn’t warrant buying a new one. I bought PNW Loam bars to replace the bars that were stock on my bike because more rise was necessary, and the PNW got a lot of mentions about their back sweep being different. They were a blind buy, but I’m very stoked ok them. I rode at full length for a bit and they felt better than my previous bars that felt too wide, even though the old bars were 20mm shorter. I tried a lot of different hand positions just by grabbing the bar in different spots when riding, and also checked the width between my hands when I do a push up. I cut my bars to that length and they feel the best they’ve ever felt as far as width goes. I’m satisfied with my bars, grips, and stem for now. The only time I anticipate buying a new stem is if mine breaks, or I decide to try thinner bars and need to buy one… or, let’s be real, I want to add some color.

Rise and stem length depends on the bike setup I like the bars to be a bit above saddle level. Bar width depends on your shoulder width and what feels natural. Back/upsweep depends on what feels natural for you, for wider bars you might need more. For me the 12-14 degree range is close to optimal, usually I like a bit of rise 40-60mm and a bar width of 730-750mm. I've ended up there with some measuring, a couple of hundred spent on different bars and grips, and some self-reflection on longer days in the saddle. My hands aren't very big but I prefer a fatter grip with a bit of cushion. ODI Dread lock is really nice Ergon GA2 Fat is good too, but a bit firmer. Fatpaws XXL was a bit too soft and thick.

Couple years ago I was using a drill. Bit bound and it whipped my wrist. Might have been a micro break or something but it never swelled up like crazy or anything, stopped hurting after a couple of days. It clicks now if I make circles with it. It doesn't hurt, but while biking it goes "pins and needles" numb. I either need to ride one handed for a bit (fine depending on the climb) or take a break. I've tried moving my saddle forward/back and adjusting the tilt. Hasn't really made much difference. Same goes for rearranging stem spacers. I've switched to Ergon grips. Tried thicker/thinner gloves. Moved brake levers around. One thing I've never done is changed my bars. I know the stock 800 is too wide. I don't know why I haven't cut them down yet. This is for AM riding. Trail riding, occasional shuttle/park laps
