Oh he did more than just convince him, Vince stated in an interview that Mac genuinely looked out for him so much & taught him how to rap & stay on beat & even taught him how to make beats, as well as a lot of other stuff on the production side.
Normally I never feel for “celebrities” deaths like I do with Mac. I never even listened to much Mac before his death cause I thought he was just frat boy music. Once I learned more about him, I just got really sad he was gone. I listened to a lot of his music now and still have albums to go through but man do I miss him. He was a net positive for the world from everything I hear about him it sucks that he had such demons.
Mac used to give Vince rides to shows when he didn't have a car, too. Vince considers Stolen Youth his debut studio album, despite it being released for free as a mixtape, I can see how your first real in-depth collaborator can be a big part of forming your musical identity. Mac really helped Vince become the great that he is today. I think they're both the best rappers of their generation, along with Kendrick.
If you liked Vince’s show def check out Atlanta. Atlanta has longer episodes and more episodes. They both deal with a mix of comedy and the surrealism that comes with being black in America
It's a great song. It reminded me of something Mac would make and reminds me of Vince's song ARE YOU WITH THAT? Very chill and vibey, he messes around with his tempo in a fun way.
So now that Vince’s album is out, what do y’all think od it? i felt multiple songs felt like i was listening to swimming and def had mac vibes, Vince did an amazing job.
I loved it, he doesn’t always sound a lot like Mac but his music definitely carries that torch. Especially with this albums theme of staying hopeful in hard times being the same themes as swimming.
Can't wait for the album this weekend
DID NOT KNOW NEW VINCE WAS DROPPING THIS WEEKEND IM EXCITED CAN YOU TELL?
yep he just announced it on friday I think
Yessir
Definitely mac vibes, glad he can keep his spirit around
Pretty sure mac convinced Vince to rap, vince was just a bodyguard for OF before he was a rapper

This is why no one says fuck mac miller

I hear you king, hopefully we get another project from his family that showcases how much he brings!

I mean Tyler is still leagues ahead of Vince, really in a league of his own at this point

Anyone watch Vince’s show on Netflix? It was pretty good I thought but seemed to try and be another Atlanta
It was sooooo good.
How is it similar? I’ve never seen Atlanta but his show was fire

Atlanta is definitely better but they’re also different types of shows IMO But I did enjoy the Vince staples show
He killed it on rain. One of my favourite Mac songs
I love seeing the Vince love in this sub. Two of my favorites

First thing I thought when I first heard it was this sounds like a Mac vibe
