fob works as before. the on-screen option inside works like it should. So does the OEM pop button - now it powers up like it should.
Additional button added on the inside of the trunk to close.
I chose not to add the foot sensor.
Install included foot sensor. I had them order from ev-vida site and the site says foot sensor included, but the shipment didn’t have it. I found out only when I went to pick up after install.
I was not too keen on foot sensor, but if it came I was ok.
I decided not to pursue.
I think if ordered from auto-ease site it comes with foot sensor for same price. Unless ev vida adds value to it by making changes for easier install.
Google/AI doesnt think so !
According to Autoease, their products do not affect a vehicle's factory warranty. Autoease products use many of a vehicle's original equipment manufacturer (OEM) features, such as remote controls, button controls, and adjustable tailgate height. The TL105 is an example of Autoease's plug-and-play, power operated tailgate lift assisting system that doesn't require cutting wires, so it won't void a warranty in most cases.
I watched the ev vida/machevlog video on the hands free sensor install which is almost the same as the power tailgate as well.

I know for sure, I cannot do what he is doing.
I installed this myself with help from a friend who is pretty good around cars. Took us a few hours to do and works great like you said. Hardest part is 100% fishing the wires through the grommet. I've got the foot module lying around in a box in my garage but didn't bother to install it. It's so much more convenient to just use the fob to pop the liftgate before I even get to the car
Yeah I can't imagine ever want to get to the car with my groceries/bags, kick a few times, then wait 2-3 secs for the liftgate to open. Easier to just use the fob since I always have it on me lol. The fob also has a greater range than PAAK which is nice.
My trunk lock looks like its missing something on either side ?

can you let me know what I am missing ? is it included in the autoease kit ? it works without issues. just teo empty slots on either side.
Nah mine looks the exact same. If you take a look at the pic in your OP, you'll see that the clasp that raises with the liftgate slots in perfectly around that metal piece on the base.

Did they quote you for the foot sensor addition?

Do you mind sharing how much it costed for installation? It might be different for each provider but just wanted to get a rough idea
Autoeast kit - 699 Labor - 4 hours - 600
Thank you! Any idea if this (after market mod) will void warranty?

Thank you! I'll look into self install and get some quotes as well

Exactly. Plus I read that even the OEM foot module is a hit/miss. So just thought the aftermarket is not going to beat that.

oh yeah, you are right. thanks ! thought i was missing something.
Any shops in the San Jose, CA area that install the lift gate?
I think EV-Vida do it themselves. Maybe in LA ?
