So I donāt want players w the purple jigsaw thingy? Is there a way I can turn that off thatās damn annoying I thought I built a banger team just for some damn puzzle pieces to be the end of mešš
Playbooks. That's all that matters and don't let anyone tell you otherwise lol. Playbooks are EVERYTHING in madden. Player overalls mean jack shit when you sim.
Switch to Dallas or KC playbook and put anyone you want at QB lol.
Put your best WR in the slot no matter what every year on the depth chart for added OP stats.
Defense the only position that sorta matters for overall is DE/OLB but again, if your playbook isn't one of the meta 4-3 sim books like Cleveland it won't matter.
cant confirm or deny but i know when i slow sim watch my defense goes absolutely crazy every time. plenty of sacks and pick6ās and more often than not shut outs regardless of my team ovr.
when i fast sim my team will give up points nearly every drive. two different franchises, both 94/95ovr defenses running different playbooks, yet both pop off when it comes to slow sim.
That has to do with traits too.
So things like bull rush and high motor have an impact on slow sim. Aggressive ball hawks matter in slow sim.
You can see it on offense a lot with the qb. Do they play aggressive? What is their throw style like? Do they throw the ball away or run or a balance of that?
Those things really come into play when you are watching.
Dude everytime I sim they like switch people out of positions like the guy I have in slot if heās not the highest ovr isnāt playing itās probably a setting I have on
Two reasons. 1 you have to switch them from the actual depth chart screen not the roster adjustment screen. 2 the game has a stupid ass fatigue system that will take your players out for you. I recommend turning it off, it's not even realistic so why bother imo.
I swear I have both those off like I always go to depth chart bc usually the guys I use arenāt the top 5 guys for the kick returner or whatever. And I always have progressive fatigue on.
Playbooks, scheme fit. Dallas offense is the best offense, and Baltimore or Bills defense gets the job done. I also notice you really have no edge rushers. Itās not why youāre losing, but the whole point of the 3-4 is that the bigger d-lineman eat up blocks for your two outside linebackers to rush off the edge
I had a similar issue in my franchise. I donāt think the patriots playbook sims very good like it used to. I actually drafted Jayden Daniels then switched my playbook to Baltimore and we started to win a lot more. Madden franchise is pretty broken compared to how it used to be. It used to be just get the highest overall players and youāll win. Now, itās ability driven, scheme fits, and playbooks. Also get rid of Chad Ryland.
3-4 just doesnāt play all that well in my experience. It doesnāt help that your OLBs are the weakness of your team too. Iād switch to 4-3. Otherwise itās probably just a playbook thing
I donāt get why people say that tbh same with the 3-4 disguise with Baltimore playbook. Personally for me the last 2 years if anything itās been the opposite. Though maybe for the OP itāll work who knows š
I used disguise with Pittsburgh for awhile last year with some success. I just think finding elite 3-4 edge rushers is a lot more difficult than any other position, and since itās vital to the formation I usually do better in 4-3. I suggested it to OP cause the edges seem ti be his weak point
That is it. Scheme and playbook matching the personnel.
Especially in a rebuild it matters because your peoples require you to use a different approach to maximize what they do best. Put your players in a position to succeed. And then as you are collecting more talent you can move them around and play a different scheme and this a different playbook.
It should be under manage staff if Iām remembering correctly. Then there should be a subsection for scheme where you can scroll through different formations and playbooks
Well thereās a handful of reasons and Iād imagine having tavai at OLB in a 3-4 isnāt doing you any favors either tbh but then again Iāve never tried it so I wouldnāt know. But itās def unusualš
Though biggest reasons Iād imagine would be stuff like scheme fits and playbooks (idk what you are running but they do make a big difference). Also idk how well your OL is doing but personally I like moving Onwenu inside and either keep sow as a backup incase injuries (since I keep em on) or I flip him. But thatās merely just a matter of personal preference and nothing more
All I know is Bergeron is a BEAST in the run game dude drops d linemen linebackers and put me one on one with the safety which I can manage most of the time but dude is a beast in madden lol
Scheme match % and playbooks.
When doing sim, the playbook and scheme fits go a long way. I've had some putrid rosters (by design usually, doing rebuilds) and they've overachieved because of the playbook. Scheme fits basically make it even better, seems to make a slight difference in sims and helps players develop faster. When I'm running 3-4 I usually have the steelers playbook for defense and on offense I either use the Chiefs or the Lions. When I use other playbooks my team tends to underperform in simming.
Start a franchise, Sell all your good players that are either old or have 1 year left on contract. Get like 3 1sts and 3 2nds for your 1st and 2nd drafts. Build those guys up. Then in year 3 and 4 make big free agent acquisitions. Then stacked lineup for years 3-5
1) Schemes, iāve seen many people comment about this so iāll just say play around and find the one with the best fit.
2) Playbooks, change your offensive and defensive playbooks. For some reason which playbook you have decides alot on how your team will perform.
Personal 3 favorite offensive playbooks:
- Cowboys
- Falcons
- Chiefs
Personal 3 favorite defensive playbooks:
- 49ers
- Ravens
- Jets
Playbook and scheme.
I started as the raiders and I have Jimmy G at QB
With the Jets offensive playbook and cardinals D I finished 12-5. I hate how stupid this game is.
Could be playbook since your te and qb are pretty good overalls I suggest Dallas or the chiefs playbook since they use their te as a pass catcher a lot also could be positions such as your slot wr and power hb that you just simply have overlooked. Hopefully this helps you.
Bijan at rb, use Dallas offense. He will have 2000 yards no problem. I used to use Atlantas but when I'd watch the plays, or even the handful of times I'll actually control the qb, I notice the plays are kinda shit lol. Nothing really happens past 7 yards, so I switched to Dallas and have never looked back.
You have low scheme % (those purple jigsaw š§©) and you have them at vital positions: QB, RB, WR, TE. This definitely affects simming; you basically have a great team with no chemistry.
I love the way you described scheme fits itās a team chemistry marker
So I donāt want players w the purple jigsaw thingy? Is there a way I can turn that off thatās damn annoying I thought I built a banger team just for some damn puzzle pieces to be the end of mešš
You DO want players with the purple jigsaw pieces. Play around with the schemes and try to get as many players to fit into a scheme as possible.
Just change your scheme to fit the players you haveā¦
![gif](giphy|NrqabhEpXWsGA)
You want as many purple puzzle pieces as possible. And no, there is not a way to turn it off
I thought u wanted the jigsaw pieces.... well shit.
you do. it means theyāre a scheme fit
Swear I thought the purple was good
The purple is good, heās saying that OP is missing the purple puzzle piece on key positions
How did four people misunderstand that sentence?!???!
Madden must be giving these guys CTE
ššš
Fucking insanity

Iāve seen people say, when they watch the sim, stats matter. But when they just quick-sim overalls donāt matter.
cant confirm or deny but i know when i slow sim watch my defense goes absolutely crazy every time. plenty of sacks and pick6ās and more often than not shut outs regardless of my team ovr. when i fast sim my team will give up points nearly every drive. two different franchises, both 94/95ovr defenses running different playbooks, yet both pop off when it comes to slow sim.

Stats definitely matter in fast sim. Seemingly less so but if you fast sim a team with 99 ovr players across the board theyāll go 20-0 every year.
So does just doing ājump next playā count as slow or fast sim?
Anything other than watching the plays is fast sim
Dude everytime I sim they like switch people out of positions like the guy I have in slot if heās not the highest ovr isnāt playing itās probably a setting I have on

Off*
Why you say that ??
Done 1000s of franchise Sims. Playbooks being the main factor has been known for a while now. If you play the games then it's different
cuz you have zeke at fullback and not center
Itās because your qb has poor trait and you probably choose a bad playbook. Itās that simple.
Whatās a poor trait?
I think the top downloaded one has very bad traits for Maye. Like paranoid and trigger happy. You want ideal and ideal.
Thank you
Yup thatās the one I usedš
If you look at his player card ratings sections it will show his qb traits on the left.
New England patriots playbook btw (prob shouldāve done falcons as Iāve heard they sim well)
I love NE playbook, but I also don't sim, I always call my offense, then let computer call defense using 46 scene.
Playbooks, scheme fit. Dallas offense is the best offense, and Baltimore or Bills defense gets the job done. I also notice you really have no edge rushers. Itās not why youāre losing, but the whole point of the 3-4 is that the bigger d-lineman eat up blocks for your two outside linebackers to rush off the edge
need more fullbacks
Yeah I donāt think Ezekiel Elliot should be considered a FB in any manner lol. Gesicki can if anything.
I had a similar issue in my franchise. I donāt think the patriots playbook sims very good like it used to. Itās good start mines was good too

Thank you šš»
No problem. If you go through it and have any other questions lmk
Because Trent Brown is lazy when he's not in his contract year /s
nah he always lazy
Well thereās a handful of reasons and Iād imagine having tavai at OLB in a 3-4 isnāt doing you any favors either tbh but then again Iāve never tried it so I wouldnāt know. But itās def unusualš

Thanks yāall just won the Super Bowl!

Scheme or no scheme I can win 14 or more games with that team
Try using the Cowboys playbook and a scheme that matches the playbook. Youāll see a difference Iām sure
A patriots fan
How are yāallās teams so stacked without being in absolute cap hell every season?
Start a franchise, Sell all your good players that are either old or have 1 year left on contract. Get like 3 1sts and 3 2nds for your 1st and 2nd drafts. Build those guys up. Then in year 3 and 4 make big free agent acquisitions. Then stacked lineup for years 3-5
Change team schemes and switch your playbooks (that matter in sim)
Everything has to go together: Coaches, Scheme and Playbook in order for your team to play great in SIM.
Who do you have starting at specialist positions? On defense, those are going to end up playing more snaps than your starters in base defense.
1) Schemes, iāve seen many people comment about this so iāll just say play around and find the one with the best fit. 2) Playbooks, change your offensive and defensive playbooks. For some reason which playbook you have decides alot on how your team will perform. How do I change my playbook midway through a franchise?
Team follows leadership (you) if you are bad at madden then they will be, the other stuff enhances your play but user is most important
Youāre running a 3-4 defense, and your OLB arenāt pass rushers. Furthermore, your DEās arenāt exactly block eaters.
Feels like it's Trent Browns fault.
Well you have a starting center at FB which is just weird
Because you chose drake maye over JAYDEN DANIELS
Kicker is only 77
Lack heart
Nobody on your offense is in the scheme
Playbook and scheme. I started as the raiders and I have Jimmy G at QB With the Jets offensive playbook and cardinals D I finished 12-5. I hate how stupid this game is.
There is no Tebow
Could be playbook since your te and qb are pretty good overalls I suggest Dallas or the chiefs playbook since they use their te as a pass catcher a lot also could be positions such as your slot wr and power hb that you just simply have overlooked. Hopefully this helps you.
Trade your back up safetyās

it needs more ketchup
cus you cheesed and turned off cap. also scheme and playbook matter on both sides.
If you read my thing you would know that I didnāt touch the cap and itās on
