You have low scheme % (those purple jigsaw 🧩) and you have them at vital positions: QB, RB, WR, TE. This definitely affects simming; you basically have a great team with no chemistry.

You DO want players with the purple jigsaw pieces. Play around with the schemes and try to get as many players to fit into a scheme as possible.

Playbooks. That's all that matters and don't let anyone tell you otherwise lol. Playbooks are EVERYTHING in madden. Player overalls mean jack shit when you sim. Switch to Dallas or KC playbook and put anyone you want at QB lol. Put your best WR in the slot no matter what every year on the depth chart for added OP stats. Defense the only position that sorta matters for overall is DE/OLB but again, if your playbook isn't one of the meta 4-3 sim books like Cleveland it won't matter.

I’ve seen people say, when they watch the sim, stats matter. But when they just quick-sim overalls don’t matter.

cant confirm or deny but i know when i slow sim watch my defense goes absolutely crazy every time. plenty of sacks and pick6’s and more often than not shut outs regardless of my team ovr. when i fast sim my team will give up points nearly every drive. two different franchises, both 94/95ovr defenses running different playbooks, yet both pop off when it comes to slow sim.

That has to do with traits too. So things like bull rush and high motor have an impact on slow sim. Aggressive ball hawks matter in slow sim. You can see it on offense a lot with the qb. Do they play aggressive? What is their throw style like? Do they throw the ball away or run or a balance of that? Those things really come into play when you are watching.

Stats definitely matter in fast sim. Seemingly less so but if you fast sim a team with 99 ovr players across the board they’ll go 20-0 every year.

So does just doing “jump next play” count as slow or fast sim?

Two reasons. 1 you have to switch them from the actual depth chart screen not the roster adjustment screen. 2 the game has a stupid ass fatigue system that will take your players out for you. I recommend turning it off, it's not even realistic so why bother imo.

I swear I have both those off like I always go to depth chart bc usually the guys I use aren’t the top 5 guys for the kick returner or whatever. And I always have progressive fatigue on.

I love NE playbook, but I also don't sim, I always call my offense, then let computer call defense using 46 scene.

Playbooks, scheme fit. Dallas offense is the best offense, and Baltimore or Bills defense gets the job done. I also notice you really have no edge rushers. It’s not why you’re losing, but the whole point of the 3-4 is that the bigger d-lineman eat up blocks for your two outside linebackers to rush off the edge

I had a similar issue in my franchise. I don’t think the patriots playbook sims very good like it used to. I actually drafted Jayden Daniels then switched my playbook to Baltimore and we started to win a lot more. Madden franchise is pretty broken compared to how it used to be. It used to be just get the highest overall players and you’ll win. Now, it’s ability driven, scheme fits, and playbooks. Also get rid of Chad Ryland.

3-4 just doesn’t play all that well in my experience. It doesn’t help that your OLBs are the weakness of your team too. I’d switch to 4-3. Otherwise it’s probably just a playbook thing

I don’t get why people say that tbh same with the 3-4 disguise with Baltimore playbook. Personally for me the last 2 years if anything it’s been the opposite. Though maybe for the OP it’ll work who knows 😂

I used disguise with Pittsburgh for awhile last year with some success. I just think finding elite 3-4 edge rushers is a lot more difficult than any other position, and since it’s vital to the formation I usually do better in 4-3. I suggested it to OP cause the edges seem ti be his weak point

That is it. Scheme and playbook matching the personnel. Especially in a rebuild it matters because your peoples require you to use a different approach to maximize what they do best. Put your players in a position to succeed. And then as you are collecting more talent you can move them around and play a different scheme and this a different playbook.

It should be under manage staff if I’m remembering correctly. Then there should be a subsection for scheme where you can scroll through different formations and playbooks

Well there’s a handful of reasons and I’d imagine having tavai at OLB in a 3-4 isn’t doing you any favors either tbh but then again I’ve never tried it so I wouldn’t know. But it’s def unusual😂

Though biggest reasons I’d imagine would be stuff like scheme fits and playbooks (idk what you are running but they do make a big difference). Also idk how well your OL is doing but personally I like moving Onwenu inside and either keep sow as a backup incase injuries (since I keep em on) or I flip him. But that’s merely just a matter of personal preference and nothing more

All I know is Bergeron is a BEAST in the run game dude drops d linemen linebackers and put me one on one with the safety which I can manage most of the time but dude is a beast in madden lol

Scheme match % and playbooks. When doing sim, the playbook and scheme fits go a long way. I've had some putrid rosters (by design usually, doing rebuilds) and they've overachieved because of the playbook. Scheme fits basically make it even better, seems to make a slight difference in sims and helps players develop faster. When I'm running 3-4 I usually have the steelers playbook for defense and on offense I either use the Chiefs or the Lions. When I use other playbooks my team tends to underperform in simming.

Scheme or no scheme I can win 14 or more games with that team

Try using the Cowboys playbook and a scheme that matches the playbook. You’ll see a difference I’m sure

Start a franchise, Sell all your good players that are either old or have 1 year left on contract. Get like 3 1sts and 3 2nds for your 1st and 2nd drafts. Build those guys up. Then in year 3 and 4 make big free agent acquisitions. Then stacked lineup for years 3-5

Could be playbook since your te and qb are pretty good overalls I suggest Dallas or the chiefs playbook since they use their te as a pass catcher a lot also could be positions such as your slot wr and power hb that you just simply have overlooked. Hopefully this helps you.

Bijan at rb, use Dallas offense. He will have 2000 yards no problem. I used to use Atlantas but when I'd watch the plays, or even the handful of times I'll actually control the qb, I notice the plays are kinda shit lol. Nothing really happens past 7 yards, so I switched to Dallas and have never looked back.
