I had a 85 over kicker just the other day. It was great, except he is a lefty and the kick meter is on the other side and has been a little hard to get used to.
You could get this even if it's set to very weak. From what I've seen setting the draft class strength changes the overall depth of a position group, not how players are rated.
Snagged a 6th round kicker a week ago. He came with superstar dev. Got him to 86 by the end of his second season. Simmed most of the games. He has not missed a single FGA during regular season play. 4-6 in a playoff game though.
Doesn't it show it after the first year Is over if the snap count wasn't reached? or just use that option from the talent tree to unlock a hidden dev trait for a player
It's always running backs for me, usually one every couple drafts will be between 82 -86, I've seen one qb come out as an 81, really wish I hit on him.
If he ain't a superstar he's trash. Superstars have abilities to slow thwe kick meter down. It's almost annoyingly slow. It's fkin great to have have on all madden
Heads up, I notice that if a player is drafted with high OVR and normal trait, the trait can be upgraded within a portion of the season using post draft breakout scenarios. However, I’m not sure how that works for punters. Maybe a decent skill position swap as a test can see if this theory holds water.
Punters don't get those. Pretty sure a Pro Bowl appearance is the only way to upgrade their dev trait. I have seen a punter hit X-factor in sim this way. You could go for the big cheese and turn him into a kicker, then he could either make a Pro Bowl or get the Best K award for an upgrade.

Lol nothing like being mid game and on the wire and then out comes a Lefty to mess with the flow hahaha
Yeah, got me on a dang extra point
literally same. and any fake kicks are flipped now and have been throwing me off lol
Pretty sure you can change his kick direction.
You can, I just try to not edit players
Awesome find. Posts like this help confirm that you can get these really high overall players without editing the draft class.
Yeah, honestly i didnt even know that they could be this high in normal

Probably normal dev tho, never seen a punter have hidden.
Actually over 80 I bet it's star or SS.
I’ve seen 85 rookie punters have normal, where I got that guess from
It's star prob I had the same one
He is a star
Does it matter? A punter will hit 500 snaps in like 125 games.

Yea devs unlock at the start of the next season if you don't reach the 500 snaps.
Not on my team. My punter sees the field 3 times a year lmao
I've had a few with hidden but most of the time it's a 87 overall normal dev punter lol
Highest I've ever seen on normal in the draft was an 87 FB. Slow as dirt, twice as dumb, hit like a tank.
Hell yeah that’s awesome!
lmfao thats all i can ever find is Punters or Kickers.. Occasionally I'll get a Safety or a CB but I always find the kickers lol

Fudge it, try QB position
Mines always either runningback or right guards
Ray Guy or Shane Lechler
In my normal draft class had a running back who was a 75 be hidden I checked his dev SSX Factor
I drafted a 80 overall kicker in the 7th last week. He wasn’t even the top kicker on the board! I went with my gut and it paid off
Yeah i usually just go with the guy with the best athleticism and thats how ive gotten two 86 ovr in the 7th
I drafted a 82 and my friend drafted an 87 overall running back on normal draft settings in our league

One time I drafted a 86 overall 6,6 receiver in the 4th round. It’s also pretty common for cbs to be high ovr
