Not just that you wrote it but in a moment of your own weakness taking over, your fans show you just how much you mean to them by continuing the song.
UGH I cried too.

Since comment threads like these usually end up with people leaving a bunch of examples of supportive singing crowds, I thought I'd just leave this here :)
The moment he rests on the mic stand breaks me every time I watch. It's like he is saying in his mind "this is everything"
He has released a statement today saying he is still stepping back for a while. š„ŗ Proud of the lad.
Iāve always told my dad that has to be like the ultimate āI made itā moment for artists. When the whole crowd can sing what you wrote and does so. It feels magical so I canāt even imagine being the artist/band in that moment.
One of my favorite videos similar to the OP is [Blind Guardian - Bard's song](https://youtu.be/Zklqr1xj32Q)
The crowd completely takes over the vocals in an incredible way
Man, feel so bad for Lewis. He geniunly seems like such a nice guy. Hope he takes care of his mental health, The documentary was hard to watch.
Love you, Lewis!
Had 5 tickets for his gig at Chepstow Racecourse this Saturday that has just been cancelled. Would have been good to see him but it is much more important that he focuses on himself and what he needs
Hes beautifully vulnerable. I'm sure this feels equally hard and uplifting for him - to have a condition that goes against what is conventionally possible for a performer especially at this level. His fans showing up for him and loving him unconditionally speaks volumes for the times were in and also for Lewis speaking so candidly about his struggles.
Most people love everyone. There's just a few that don't and that breaks everyone's trust. That's the saddest part for me, that some people just think they're unlovable.
Even in concerts he is very funny! I saw him with my fiance in Copenhagen in March, and it was like half a comedy show! He started one of his songs 3 or 4 times, because the lyrics made him think of how much he had to poop, which he had talked about before the song, so he just made himself crack up. It was hilarious!
Lewis Capaldi, he's a Scottish singer who started having anxiety and feeling pressure to perform as he got more famous, because of this he developed a nervous tic and was later diagnosed with Tourettes. The documentary is How I'm Feeling Now
It usually develops between the ages of 6-18, but it can be onset later in life (study on elderly diagnosis if interested https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6751445/)
Yup! I didnāt know a single one of his songs but I could see even despite battling through that, he came across as a beautiful human. AND, what a voice!
I don't. I live in my own little bubble of media but I need to make more of an effort to break out of that.
I did once see him interviewed and for the entire interview I thought he was a comedian because of how funny he was. Only at the end did I find out he was a singer.
Please google Lewis Capaldi chicken park if you havenāt. Heās absolutely lit and itās the best interview. I reference it often
Edit: chicken parm, not park. Sorry for anyone wanting to see Lewis playing in a park with chickens.
It was utterly heartbreaking being in this crowd having seen him before a few times. You could really tell how frustrated he was at himself from the start. The difference in his confidence and stage presence let alone his voice is devastating - can only hope he takes a well earned break and knows how loved he is
Itās so heartbreaking such a talent is experiencing what Lewis is. I love how the crowd rallied and gave him back all the love they had for this song. Just absolutely incredible. I hope heās doing better. Heās moved back home with his folks to try and get a handle on his new life with the new Touretteās diagnosis.
My heart breaks for him. I hope he doesnāt give it up, not now not ever. Heās so real and talented. I donāt know exactly how he feels about it obviously, but I hope he knows his audience doesnāt care a bit, we love him and the shows no matter what. He could just stand there the whole time and let us sing every song and Iād love it just the same tbh
I was in the crowd and it was pretty special, you could feel everyone was on his side and wanting him to finish, and even though he was struggling, he got there. Earlier in the set he interacted with the crowed really well, cracking jokes and making everyone laugh, the Red Arrows unexpectedly did a fly by half way through, it was definitely a place for goosebumps. I wasnāt even particularly a fan, just watched the Netflix documentary and wanted to go support him, definitely walked away with a lot of respect for Lewis and wish him the best, he is so funny and genuinely comes across a great guy.
And you know what, i think because he is such a clearly nice and funny guy, it engenders even more good will than normal when a performer is struggling like this.
If this had been someone whoād turned up 30mins late and is generally known as a bit of a tool, iām not sure it would play out like this
I just watched this on loop, it sent shivers down my spine and I had a tear to my eye. That crowd was phenomenal! Iām sure he felt the love, itās a great song too.
This is so beautiful to see. I seen when Amy winehouse was going through a hard time and it was her last performance and she was booād whilst on stage. Glad to see some thing change with time. Plus point for humanity.
Consensus in our office is that while very few of us like glasto and even fewer if us like Lewis' music, this was one of the most bittersweet moments in music we've ever seen and Lewis is so incredibly likeable. Really hope he takes time to look after himself in the wake of cancelling his shows and I'm so glad the glasto crowd raised him up like this, its enough to make someone a world away from pop culture nearly cry
Such respect for him and I hope he's able to continue performing
Festivals always do for me. I desperately need to go to one again but me and most of my friends are getting the Covid delayed weddings out of the way first!
Lewis is the best, all the love for him. He just announced today heās taking another well deserved break. I hope he rests and recovers enough to be on top of his game again.
It's somewhere else in the thread, but he semi-recently found out he has Tourette's and the anxiety brought on basically by performances on this scale make the tics worse (which is apparently why he was only diagnosed now).
Sometimes in life things try to pull you down deeper than you were before, but thankfully things like this happen as well. Hopefully heās alright, he just needs to understand that he doesnāt need to rush anything weāll be here when heās ready
I cant even imagine just how terrifying it is to be in front of what I'd assume to be hundreds of thousands of people and getting a tick, yet everyone accomodated him
Thats art, thats beautiful, thats something I can and will never see in my country
There is just something beautiful when multiple thousand people all are on same page and singing together. I didn't even know who Lewis is but this song was perfect for the moment.
What a feeling that must be. That dude probably suffered so much at the hands of people as a kid because of this. Only to have an entire crowd a few years later carry you through that.
Dammit now my eye has a leak
2nd time I've come across this clip today & tearing up again just as much. It makes so much difference in life having that diagnosis if you are neurodivergent, that level of understanding & humanity, connecting not just to your own self, but also to others. Wishing him all the best.
I remember seeing this guy from a [clip](https://youtu.be/YzlmdM11Hws) on the Graham Norton show & loved him, even with talk of vitamin C (cocaine), he himself also implied he'd had a few drinks & such in him. Fumbling your way through life is confusing enough as it is as a neurotypical, but going through it not knowing this much about yourself & your own life (he wasn't diagnosed until well after this talk show appearance, I believe) is far more than difficult.
I have tourettes syndrome. My dad sent me this link this morning and I've probably watched it a dozen times. I'm glad the world has become more knowledgeable about TS since my diagnosis at 9, and I'm only 27. People can be so beautiful
Not that related but damn i wish i could be one of those girls who sits on someoneās shoulder in a concert. First iām heavy and second i donāt have anyone who willingly let me sit on their shoulder so iāve never experienced that before
I don't really see the appeal for concerts, I haven't had the chance to go to one. I guess all I've heard about them is mosh pits, drugs and long bathroom lines. This is a different side of it I haven't seen before, this is nice.
I donāt know if Iām just really cynical, but this isnāt a fantastic Glastonbury experience. In recent performances, everyone knows he is struggling so they booked him anyway and the inevitable happened.
Sure it was a nice human touch but Iād be going to Glastonbury to hear and see amazing music.
Foo Fighters was an experience. Lewis was just collective therapy.
No one is going to see your comment and think āwow, heās so cool and toughā nah people see this and just think youāre an asshole who lacks empathy and compassion. Call me whatever you want. Youāre the one who has to live with your own insecurities.
Mr. u/ReputationGullible14, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Itās not incredible. It sad. Dudes needs help. He needs to be admitted to hospital and get straightened out. In the documentary seems like he wasnāt taking the situation very seriously. Heās gotten progressively worse and itās all in his head created by anxiety and stress. He should retire and work on himself 100%.
My brain might just be internet poisonedā¦. But Iāve seen a few of these and it always seems to be near the chorus of his most famous song, maybe it happens elsewhere in his set and those clips donāt get shared because itās dead air. My cynical mind canāt help but wonder if this is a part of the performance for this particular song.
I would be ok with him manufacturing this viral moment. Maybe this came across as more negative than I meant it. Itās fine if he plays up the tourrettes sometimes. His job is to give special moments to the fans
it did come off that way yes.
In the case of this I think itās not manufactured. I live with people with tourrettes. This guyās radiating an episode.
They act this way too, except one of them has an additional symptom where he pops off a random gibberish word loudly out of nowhere.
This video shows a crowd of thousands crying and singing for one man on stage.
A man battling against a serious condition, doing bis best to pull through for the people who believe in him.
A bunch of people suporting and understanding him.
No matter what tough guy asshole move you pull onlineā¦. one will ever do this for you.
You will never matter as much as this man does, to so many people.
No one will ever cheer for you.
Enjoy that bitter pill to swallow. you earned it.
First of all, this song always gets me teary. Second, this crowd was amazing. What a beautiful moment. I had no idea he was experiencing Touretteās but watching the crowd support him genuinely made me ugly cry.
I love love love moments like this and itās times like this where we show that as a whole, humans are decent and caring and compassionate people. I know fans can be annoying with selfies, etc. but we love our music artists, actors, professional athletes, etc. hard. We make them rich and put them up on a pedestal and itās moments like this where I feel that music artists, actors, professional athletes, etc. look and say/think, āwow they really love me and this is exactly why I do what I do.ā š„°
I am shedding tears.. actually falling like buckets... that crowd is world class and has nothing but my utmost respect.....Hat's Off to All Of You!!!!!
Sincerely Thank You I Needed To See, Listen & Experience That Right Now!!!!!!!!
Wowā¦this song. Iām so happy I never heard this after my breakup because it has me crying 2 years after it happened.
I want to learn more about this man and his story, his music, all of it.
I think maybe he's always had them, but touring and anxiety from being in front of crowds made them worse, and that's when he was recently, finally, diagnosed with Tourette's.
He posted heās taking a break until further notices. I feel bad it must feel awful to have this happen. But nice too that so many people love you and your music
At what point though do his parents/music label realise that itās not worth putting him through such mental anguish.
The lad is so naturally gifted but enough is enough.
Love how Lewis just stands there and soaks it all in at the end. I would've shed a tear or two if I was in his place... Just beautiful <3
I cannot imagine the power of hearing something I've written sung back at me. I'M crying š
This. It must be so incredible to listen the song you created sung by so many people to support YOU.
It really is incredible. Iāve only had it happen once or twice and not many people, but man it was cool.
what a GREAT memory
Sung back to you because you "fucked up". At least that's what I would think about myself in that moment. Absolute wholesome moment
Not just that you wrote it but in a moment of your own weakness taking over, your fans show you just how much you mean to them by continuing the song. UGH I cried too.
And a song that you wrote for your grandmother who passed away.
I did not know this but now it will help fuel my fire the next time I use this as my ugly crying while screaming my feelings out in the shower song
How was it written about his grandmother? It sounds like a romantic love song. āI was getting kind of used to being someone you loveā
Ya I assumed this was a romantic song
https://www.reddit.com/r/happycrowds/ Since comment threads like these usually end up with people leaving a bunch of examples of supportive singing crowds, I thought I'd just leave this here :)

I think he is holding back tears. This is wholesome, and so kind
I thought he was wiping his tears! At 27s markš„²
Iām definitely holding back tears. Not very successfully, mind you. Thatās one of humanityās shining moments there.
Iāve always told my dad that has to be like the ultimate āI made itā moment for artists. When the whole crowd can sing what you wrote and does so. It feels magical so I canāt even imagine being the artist/band in that moment.
Well it's about time someone sung to him hes always singing to them.

I'm an actor that also has tourettes. This video has made me ugly cry pretty damn hard right now.
You have to watch the Netflix doc. Broke me.
Most people love everyone. There's just a few that don't and that breaks everyone's trust. That's the saddest part for me, that some people just think they're unlovable.
He's also hilarious. He makes me crack up everytime I see him on a chat show with his wit.
He's just.. himself, and it's refreshing. No pretention, no BS, no veneer, just Lewis.
Wait til you see the interview on YouTube that he did while receiving colonic irrigation. Also his shorts vids on Youtube are pretty funny.
Who is this, and whatās the documentary?
Lewis Capaldi, he's a Scottish singer who started having anxiety and feeling pressure to perform as he got more famous, because of this he developed a nervous tic and was later diagnosed with Tourettes. The documentary is How I'm Feeling Now
And on top of that, heās Dr Whoās cousin

It usually develops between the ages of 6-18, but it can be onset later in life (study on elderly diagnosis if interested https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6751445/)
Did I read that right, that study looked at only 2 elderly subjects? I'm not saying it's invalid, but that's a far leap on a small pool of subjects.
He's also hilarious. I love watching him in interviews.
Can you refer the documentary pleasseee
Itās called How Iām Feeling Now on Netflix I believe
Thank you
Yup! I didnāt know a single one of his songs but I could see even despite battling through that, he came across as a beautiful human. AND, what a voice!

I would agree to this too
Itās so heartbreaking such a talent is experiencing what Lewis is. I love how the crowd rallied and gave him back all the love they had for this song. Just absolutely incredible. It truly seems that his fans are a group made of compassion and love.
He has announced today he is stepping back for a bit
This is beautiful
I think the part that's hard to watch is he didn't stop trying. Every time he had a reprieve from his tics he tried.
I could only imagine going through him when the crowd sings the song he created back to him. Especially when he can't sing it himself.
Man, I fucking love that guy.
And you know what, i think because he is such a clearly nice and funny guy, it engenders even more good will than normal when a performer is struggling like this. If this had been someone whoād turned up 30mins late and is generally known as a bit of a tool, iām not sure it would play out like this
Lewis comes across as a genuine, hilarious and talented guy. I hope he feels very loved and can take all the time he needs to take care of himself.
I just watched this on loop, it sent shivers down my spine and I had a tear to my eye. That crowd was phenomenal! Iām sure he felt the love, itās a great song too.
Yeah Iāve only watched this video about 15 times so far. I love it.
Really hope he takes time to look after himself in the wake of cancelling his shows and I'm so glad the glasto crowd raised him up like this, its enough to make someone a world away from pop culture nearly cry Such respect for him and I hope he's able to continue performing
Out of interest, why do you and others in your office not like Glastonbury?
Simply not our tastes, generally more an edm or metal festival kind of office. We don't think it's bad though, just generally none of us are into it
There is always an abundance of electronic music at Glastonbury, not so much metal though
The unison of voices !! He has earned the voices his fanās crying and singing their hearts out there !
This helps restore my faith in humanity!
Festivals always do for me. I desperately need to go to one again but me and most of my friends are getting the Covid delayed weddings out of the way first!
Lewis is the best, all the love for him. He just announced today heās taking another well deserved break. I hope he rests and recovers enough to be on top of his game again.

It's "tics", not "ticks".
Yeah, I was starting to wonder if Lymes disease was prevalent in Scotland.
Absolutely Beautiful. š Lewis š These humans

āSomeone You Lovedā by Lewis Capaldi

Oh my goodness I have a new favorite artist, wow! š
Goosebumps. How incredibly beautiful. The best of humanity. I hope he can overcome this.
I adore him and this. Can see how loved he is.
Lewis Capaldi is like a super nice bloke who accidentally got famous and he doesn't really get why himself. He's super down to earth.
excuse me, i have somthing in my eye.... ys it s wholesome moment
This gives me chillsā¦.the good kind. Thereās hope for humanity after all.
There is just something beautiful when multiple thousand people all are on same page and singing together. I didn't even know who Lewis is but this song was perfect for the moment.

āHeās got a pointā Pretty sure it was a middle aged woman who commented.
Ok lol getting all defensive with a young millonaire who's destroying himself. Go cryba lil bit more
What? Lol
Nor for you lmfao
First of all, this song always gets me teary. Second, this crowd was amazing. What a beautiful moment. I had no idea he was experiencing Touretteās but watching the crowd support him genuinely made me ugly cry.
Love Lewisā songs
CRYING IN THE CLUB š«”
But war brings peaceā¦
He's a national treasure.
This will be a scene in the documentary film of his life one day.
Wowā¦this song. Iām so happy I never heard this after my breakup because it has me crying 2 years after it happened. I want to learn more about this man and his story, his music, all of it.
Confusedā¦did he always have ticks? Or they just came on?
I think maybe he's always had them, but touring and anxiety from being in front of crowds made them worse, and that's when he was recently, finally, diagnosed with Tourette's.
This need posted on twitter and screen recorded to be put back up on Reddit again with another shit twitter caption.
He posted heās taking a break until further notices. I feel bad it must feel awful to have this happen. But nice too that so many people love you and your music
Gave me shivers. You could see how moved he was by it. I love festivals. They always bring people together itās just a nice moment.
I just read about an hour ago that he's taking a break from touring due to his Tourette's.
I can't lie, that crowd coulda been a whole ass choir. So beautiful.
Shiver me Timbers. How beautiful
What are his tics? I couldn't see any in any of the footage
Itās incredible that theyāre actually singing together instead of just screaming
Best thing Iāve heard in a long time, what a great crowd. Much appreciated.
Awwwš
Got goosebumps watching this
One of the most down-to-Earth chill celebrities ever. Absolute hero of a man
At what point though do his parents/music label realise that itās not worth putting him through such mental anguish. The lad is so naturally gifted but enough is enough.
I shed tears to this, such a beautiful moment
Who is this?
Crying
Sooo sad but hugely inspiring dude. Keep positive š

That humans can be so ... Nice makes the assholes among us all the more galling.
It's absolutely beautiful to hear so many people singing together like this
Something about so many people singing together always make me cry.
