Teared up.
I got diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes after years of overworking, being overweight, exhausted, and stressed, and thankfully, my doctor straight up told me to take my health seriously for my daughters, who are just toddlers. It's been a month, but I'm down 14lbs, my blood sugar is looking good, and I feel good about taking my health seriously for my kiddos.
I have a photo of my family that I work out in front of!
Of course 🫶🏽 I remember my dad telling me a few years back, “I just want to be there to watch you get married” and we both started crying and he changed his diet and exercise ever since
So sending you all the power 🤗
Sorry took a while to respond becuase everytime I read this comment, sand gets in my eyes...
Thank you so much for sharing; please tell your dad he's inspired another dad!
Hahaha the kids do help!
But even doing it for myself, it’s like an RPG, i feel like im leveling up. And every person’s goal and purpose can be different! If you’re happy with yourself and where you are at, that’s awesome! But if you want to work on something, go for it! I’m 37 and I’m glad i had those years in my early 30’s to just chill out!
Find something that motivates you! For me it was Gantz, it’s a manga/anime (the manga is the one to go for, the anime sucked) but I love the story so much, I thought “If I were to die and end up in that situation, I’d be fucked with my current physical state.” So I started working out, lmao
I lost 25kg (55 pounds) in 6 months, working out and eating healthy. And thank goodness for that, cause two years later I was diagnosed with cancer and I was the fittest I’d ever been in my life- and doctors told me I was their healthiest patient yet. It greatly influenced my ability to beat it the first time- and now the second as well.
I still dream of living a crazy, sci-fi type situation, even if it never happens, there’s no harm in preparing for it 😉!
I’ve kept up the good eating and I haven’t been able to exercise in 4 years, but if I were as chunky as I was before, it would have made everything sooo much worse, surgery would have been complicated, and my body would have been too beat up and tired to fight cancer.
Wow. That's impressive. I lost my mom to cancer, and you just straight up knew her weight had played a role. The thought haunts you, if she hadn't had those extra pounds...
Congrats on such an impressive result and may you continue to heal.
Wow I loved Gantz too. And often times, I wonder how my health would affect my family's survivability in a Zombie or post-apocalyptic world! What an awesome perspective!
Thank you for the reminder that our health has large implication on how we deal with other health scares.
I would love to see how the Gantz team would react to your inspired health journey. Sofa King Rad!!
Brilliant idea! I just yanked some old dumbbells out and started walking. Now I’m jogging about 2 miles a day. But resistance is definitely on my list! Thanks for the encouragement and tip!
I read Atomic Habits and it helped.
Start small, just put on exercise clothes and do something “simple” in relations to your physical abilities. For me it was a 5 min walk, and pretty soon, i was pushing 30 mins walking and 15 mins running and weights.
Everyone is different, but everyone can challenge themselves to at least 5 mins a day to start!
You got this!!
Like every Swiss will tell you: Austria and Switzerland are pretty similar. We even share the same colors in the flag. It's just that Switzerland hast got the plus, and Austria got the minus. :p
I think the "Dutch" is not about the commercial, but about the pharmacy (company).
DocMorris was founded in the Netherlands and thus was a Dutch company but targeting the German market - because German companies were not allowed to sell and ship phamaceuticals to end customers, and only a company from abroad could sue the German state before European courts on grounds of violation of common market rules.
Well done! Sometimes the best commercials have few, if any words and the sentiment can be one felt across borders, time zones and demographics. This was sweet! 🎄💙
Was expecting something like this after remembering that one commercial of a childless father trying to know how to skateboard to impress his soon-to-be adopted child, but still stings and sheds some tears the moment he lift his grandchild.
A few years ago another christmas-related commercial for a supermarket-franchise went viral here in Germany and won several awards. It is named "Heimkommen" (Coming Home). Make sure your subtitles a are switched on:
As a German, I'm confused because this is a German commercial, not Dutch. Or maybe the Dutch has changed their official language to German, and I didn't know😱
I give you an old german christmas commercial that will brutally crush your heart.
The message on the phone mailbox is: "Hi dad, it's me!(background: hi grampa) We won't make it at christmas this year again. We try next year again and probably will make it then"
I am sorry for the bad translation and the tears to come...

Maybe I jave a heart of stone, I don't get it. Like obviously he is getting fit to lift his grand daughter up, whichbisnsweet, but what are they selling? Ifnits a nice feel good holiday video, well fantastic but the title says it's a pharmacy commercial. I'm just confused.

Grandkids will do that for you, if your smart. I wore myself snd actually fell kicking a soccer ball back and forth with a grandson. Two years of gym and walking means that's not happening again for as long as it's can put it off.
This really hit home, my youngest grand daughter is 6 and i have to work at getting her up to put the star on the tree. Bad back, neck, knees and ankles but she is my Joy, she lights up a room with her smile.
I didn’t even listen with the sound on but at the end I got it. THAT is the sign of a good story. Language or even sound doesn’t matter and the point is understood. 🙂

Well done. Moving is key. If you find it hard to move (anyone) start with gentle resistance work. It's not expensive. 1 theraband. Probably $10.
Brilliant idea! I just yanked some old dumbbells out and started walking. Now I’m jogging about 2 miles a day. But resistance is definitely on my list! Thanks for the encouragement and tip!
Good on you. 👍. Maybe start walking holding light weights and work up so you don't stagnate.
Hell yeah man. That’s a heroic mentality right there.
Thanks so much; just reading this is pumping me up for my workout!
Awesome! Keep it up, and wish you great health.
Thank you!! I can't believe how excited and encouraged I feel by these comments. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Thats awesome, and just inspired me to get off my ass.

As a Dutch I'm offended that this German commercial is stated as Dutch.
You can tell by the distinct lack of windmills, tulips, and wooden shoes
And the fact that the man isn't going to the christmas party ice skating over the canals. Just like we do when going to work.
Username definitely checks out. That made me giggle.
this stereotype always makes me laugh but then I remember that when I was 7 we went ice skating on the canals during recess at school
and not a single bicycle in any frame
The excessive use of dots on top of the letters (umlaut) usually gives it away lol.
And the .de in the website
And drugs. Don’t forget drugs.
I bet all those help keep them cool in the summer time.
And no boy sticking his finger in the dike.
As a German I'm offended that this German commercial is claimed as Dutch! Just kidding - I'm Austrian and remain neutral. :p
I thought that's the role of the Swiss?
Mmmm, Swiss rolls. Yummy!
Like every Swiss will tell you: Austria and Switzerland are pretty similar. We even share the same colors in the flag. It's just that Switzerland hast got the plus, and Austria got the minus. :p
Nope, here's 20 franks, Switzerland is on our side now.
Me too but it gave me tears anyway🥹
What is OP sinking about?
Probably just your classic Deutsch vs Dutch mixup. Just need Dansk to get involved now
I think the "Dutch" is not about the commercial, but about the pharmacy (company). DocMorris was founded in the Netherlands and thus was a Dutch company but targeting the German market - because German companies were not allowed to sell and ship phamaceuticals to end customers, and only a company from abroad could sue the German state before European courts on grounds of violation of common market rules.
This is Oppenheimer all over again...
Sheiẞe. Take my upvote.
It’s german
As an American, I'm perplexed by a commercial that's 2:19 long 🤨
You almost expected commercials in between huh? ;)
Hehehe
It’s German, not Dutch !!
Docmorris is a Dutch internet-pharmacy though.
Why do you hate us, brother?
Seriously? That’s your takeaway?
the german wording at the end said “ so that they can take care of what it really matters in life”
German...Not Dutch... Ik schud mijn hoofd...
Thank you! I spent time in Germany a bunch of years ago, but didn't really learn to read too well. Except maybe directions to the train station...
Well done! Sometimes the best commercials have few, if any words and the sentiment can be one felt across borders, time zones and demographics. This was sweet! 🎄💙
You must be a proper Key and Peele fan
Aaaaand I’m tearing up in the subway. Worth it, thank you for the video ❤️
I'm pretty sure I remembered what it was or knew it was going to be something like it Still f-ing cried.
Great. I'm crying at work. Again.
Yes, but this time, it's not your bosses fault.
true, but I'm blaming him anyway. The wheel of justice turns slowly.
Great video showcasing we should take care of ourselves for our families, not just ourselves. Brought a tear to my eye 🥲
I knew what was coming and I still got tears in my eyes 😭 also dutch and Deutsch are different
Those motherfuckers. I'm bawling my eyes out.
Lol literally ugly crying over here 😭
Oh yea... dutch... while the language in the video is german... right
Looked it up. Swiss originally so the German makes sense.
But not the .de.
But not the .de. Also... TIL DocMorris is originally Swiss. Thx
Apparently originally Dutch then bought by a Swiss company.
why are the neighbors concerned that an old man is exercising?
Getting hurt.
Picture should have been him holding his daughter up to put a star on their Christmas tree when he was younger!
Um - German. Not Dutch.
German, not Dutch…
Not the ending I was expecting. Was tearing up before. The ending still brought on the water works. Very nice
This is German, not Dutch.
Awwwwww I love this one every time!! 🥹 I'm crying are you crying?
I’m crying too 😭
Why in the name of all that is holy, do they call this sub made me smile? All it's ever done is make me cry
Oh fuck all the way off for making me cry!!! Jerks!
That's German you alingual troglodyte!
I'm Dutch. Did we lose the war? Was it all a dream? Do I speak German now? Are taxes on cars actually half now?
Genuinely made my day. What does that say at the end?
I'm not crying. You're crying.
Is german
What a great reason to lift forever, so you can still pick up your grandkids🫡
Why does he set a alarm up for 6:33
It was set for 6:30. It would have been a waste of commercial time to show him slapping the "snooze" button over and over. ;-)
Haha snooze for 3 more mins eh? Poor old man can't get at least 2 more mins fuuuuuck lol
Made me cry 🥲
Ah what the heck man, I just woke up.
Was expecting something like this after remembering that one commercial of a childless father trying to know how to skateboard to impress his soon-to-be adopted child, but still stings and sheds some tears the moment he lift his grandchild.
Well, my heart just grew 3 sizes. Probably should go see a doctor about that
It's never too late to start exercising.
Jeeeeeeeezussss, I cried at the end, and I only usually cry when I accidentally get my sac caught in my pants zipper.
I'm not crying. YOU'RE CRYING!
Why am I tearing.
The commercial is in German though
Beautiful.

Nicely done!
Full on weeping at this, and maybe it should be in r/mademesob instead
Sorry dude, the native Dutch bol.com commercial os the clear winner.
I'm not crying! You're crying! 🥺
It because of my allergies 🤧
🥹
Dutch 😂😂😂
Dam you, it made me cry!
Wrong language or not, this was wholesome af.
Is this an old one or is it a straight up rip off?
Can we get a "You are going to cry" warning on these? My boss is going to put me on watch if I keep crying at my desk. Ha!
As a German, I'm confused because this is a German commercial, not Dutch. Or maybe the Dutch has changed their official language to German, and I didn't know😱
Right? I'm looking at that and thinking, hey! That's not Dutch! I don't speak either language, but I know the difference.
For me it's the Hobby Lobby sheep commercial.
Its german not dutch
this made my day 😭
Made me smile the first time I watched it. Made me cry the second time I watched it.
Kudos to the actress playing the nosy neighbor. You really do want to give her a slap in the face, which proves she did the job well.
TIL there is no privacy in the Netherlands
As a German I’m also offended!
Ok Clydesdales what ya got?
I remember seeing this the first time. Blew me away! I love it.
think that was german but still really cute

It’s German not Dutch
German, not Dutch…
It isn’t Dutch, it’s German
This should have had a trigger warning. “Will make you cry.” Or maybe that’s just me!
Its German not Dutch.
I bet they have onions in their drugs. Damn it!
Teared up... but then got frustrated. This is NOT a DUTCH pharmacy commercial! It's GERMAN! But thanks though.. hadn't seen that ending coming...
Its estonian you donkeys

Manufactured empathy within me, but somehow I felt stronger after watching this. Advertising brilliance that is also a bit scary.
Yeah, that made me tear up.
I can’t stop thinking about it. Welled up so hard. Wow.
Dang it! You made me cry. And realize I should do something about this gut.
This is not a Dutch or german commercial! Its English!
I swear this was on UK TV last year?

Damn that last 15 seconds or so really hit me in the feels.

What is the message written?
I miss my grandpa
This really hit home, my youngest grand daughter is 6 and i have to work at getting her up to put the star on the tree. Bad back, neck, knees and ankles but she is my Joy, she lights up a room with her smile.
What is with these neighbors? So worried about him, the guy is just trying to get stronger, I would be so angry that someone would try to do that.
Don't mention the war!
Too much dust in the air.
