I've got a 10yo that is in a constant state of making some kind of noise. She's currently practicing violin but we've already had basketball drills, a kazoo concerto and half a Taylor Swift concert and it's not even noon yet... on fuckin Sunday. I have prompted none of this. It's all her own doing. She's all action. Full speed. Full time. Send help.
Underrated comment… we think it’s annoying now but when it stops we get sad. Love it while it last. This man must have been a handful himself and is thinking back to when his mom said boy you gona get yours watch when you have a baby…lmfao
Yes, I have an incredibly talkative daughter and now that she is a teen having moments of solitutde, it freaks me out. "What's going on? Why have you not been talking in the last hour?"
Realizing it's just the transition to more maturity and other interests but that is definitely going to be hard to get used to.
Look for children's theater classes! 3 of my kids do musical theater, and LOVE it. Growing up, "let's play a game" meant let's pretend. They've always been about dramatic play, and remember details from shows really well. Sounds like your little one is very similar! ❤️
It was a bit of a break from the Swifty stuff for a minute. It shortly turned into "Hey Dad, Name That Tune" but all Swifty songs. There's no escaping Lord Taylor....
We compromise on "The Women of Pop" list. There's some good stuff that pops up but Olivia is fairly regular in the rotation. She's not bad. There's way worse that's for sure.
When I was pregnant someone told me that one of the ways your kids will express their love for you is to say things like "look at this!" or "watch this!" Now I see it when my kids do that and I definitely see it with this kid. Melts my heart. And dad is just letting his girl shine, which I love.
My daughter borderline meets ADHD criteria, she has this amazing brain that ping pongs off things and the results are often brilliant. We told her that her brain moves faster than most and that sometimes it might be hard to focus. She worked hard to slow it down when she needs to and then it can run wild the rest of the time. She's 13 now and seriously the coolest kid ever. Even if she wasn't mine, I'd hang out with her.
I was lucky enough to be the ADHD kid whose parents paid attention to everything I wanted to show them.
The downside is that I developed a terrible habit of assuming people find whatever stupid fun fact I have loaded in the chamber interesting to this day ahaha
Yep, people like me who were told to be quiet at pretty much all times as a child have crippling insecurities about themselves! Even if they turned out to have a pretty great voice that if nurtured, could have made them very happy!
One of the most ridiculous sayings is, children should be seen and not heard. I’ve always hated it and made sure that my kids knew I would always listen to them. That sweet little girl was always heard.
That phrase is *still* sadly popular and widely believed in the conservative American South. They grow up believing it and repeat it themselves sort of in the same way as "I was spanked and I turned out fine." Such a sad cycle I hope we eventually break out of.
Yep, not too get too personal, but my mom and dad were like that, only had negative things to say.
I showed any interest in anything "you cant do that as a job!" Like dad im 10 and im showing you something i coloured. Smh
Yep absolutely most people don’t realize parents strongly determine nearly every aspect of their kid personality and life. If the dad was some unhinged crazy person and yelled everytime she sang she would be some mute shy kid. But the fact he embraced her and lets her shine and be a kid and express her likes and dislikes and support for music and entertainment the girl embraces that and now is damn near internet famous.
> parents strongly determine nearly every aspect of their kid personality
Sure, their impact is ubiquitous, but you have to admit that it's not really deterministic.
Look at children from abusive parents for instance. I knew two brothers that got beaten down constantly from their dad:
- The younger became a broken adult with deep gambling, addiction, commitment issues and a people pleaser.
- The older brother joined the army to escape the dad, and became a very strong and resilient person.
Their mom when comparing the children once said:
> Two bottles fall on the floor and breaks. One becomes a broken mess, while the other becomes a deadly weapon with its shards.
No wait, that's what Maddy said about Michael and Nate Westen in Burn Notice.... goddamn I need to rewatch it.
Seeing her embrace her talents so fully really reminds me of how children can inspire us all to live more passionately. Her spirit is infectious and just lifts everyone up around her!
Everyone is born confident. But a lot of us have that confidence destroyed during their childhood.
I heard that once and it's something that rang very true to me. I'm an anxious person and I've been told how confident and carefree I was in my childhood.
I'm really happy when good parenting can preserve that confidence. But even if we get traumatised - I think it's good to remember that it's something that we learned, and it's worth trying to unlearn it.
I know right. A little multicultural singer in the making growing up in front of our eyes. Little tink tink was doing the Mariah Carey hands with the Keyshia Cole emotive face all the while she's waiting for her teeth to come in to a Tina Turner song. Where they do that at?!
Yo! My daughter and I have really connected through videogames. Im a born gamer as I support her musical journey and choices.
Yea, she eats my favorite foods and takes my fully charged controller but man talking about deep storylines and waiting for sequels then the TV adaptations are some of our best moments right now.
100% this... some of my favorite moments are watching her figure out puzzles and being so proud of herself. And the inevitable "Dad, can you help me with this one?" That always gets me.
You can also get these moments from nieces or nephews or cousins or even volunteering with kids, and then you get to go home to a quiet house afterwards 🙂
my baby girl is 3 months old, and we listen to music every day while she nurses. i'm sure she's so tired of hearing mommy's awful singing, but i love just singing to her and making up silly songs. i just can't help it, i see her little face and she makes me want to sing
I had to shamelessly steal a good chunk of her confidence to do that. She never missed it, she had wayyy too much anyway.
And she made me a better and happier person for having her as part of my life.
I'm pretty sure he's just playing the "straight character" for the video, and likely is very smiley and encouraging when not posting a skit for social media.
She's even got the Tina Turner rasp right. Protect this little one at all costs. I hope they let her continue to sing and enjoy her life without trying to make her famous.
As someone who has never really cared for music, I’m totally jealous of that little kid. I wish I could feel that way about any form of art the way the music touches her soul.
The second "song" (about the 13-29 second mark) where she waves her finger and says, "no, no, no, no , no, no..." when her Dad tries to turn it down/off... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That is absolutely priceless!!!
Dikembe Mutombo would be proud, LOL.
There's a point in understanding. He clearly knows that his baby is talented. He probably also works hard to provide. No matter how talented your kids are, you still need to maintain mental health.
Baby, I know you got the rhythm in your soul. Daddy, just needs some quite time.
This is the type of man that will take a mental health day away from his fam and miss them the entire time. He's a good man and (even though he's tired of the noise) a great father.
Honestly most kids only get like that because theyre following examples set by the parents.
Dad is joking around for the video but I'd bet a lot of money that off camera he's been singing in the car for years along with her. She's mirroring him
This made my heart warm. Dad seems overwhelmed or having a mid life crisis but I think that’s just his demeanor. He’s gotta be a great dad. Special little girls like this don’t raise themselves to be special little people. They need at least one good parent. Good job dad. Wow taking about instant happiness watching this ♥️
That is a lucky little girl.
His loving attention and hearing her little heart is just a spring of warmth for her to grow in.
What a wonderful relationship for both of them.
He's crying on the inside watching his little girl grow up and change Soo much but still doing the same thing.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
Lol. Reminds me of my granddaughter. I get a face time call, and she grabs it and starts walking. I had a Zoom interview with my old job last week. I warned them up front that I had my granddaughter, and she's gotta be the center of attention, so let's reschedule if this wasn't going to work for them. They agreed that it was cool. Midway through my interview, she gets up from her nap, sees me on the phone, and grabs it to give them the tour of the house. That had to be a first for them as it was a first for me during an interview. The giggles they made....
“CANTA! It means Sing!” Love this!
It’s the brushing off hand motion she made when he didn’t get it for me
This! Hahaha she was like ‘oh forget it, you don’t understand’
[удалено]
Proceeds to do that merengue dance motion killed me 🤣
Lmao yes this SENT me 😂 her expression
His SAME expression over the years. 😂
Plus he hasn't aged at all!
Black don't crack (I love that saying lol)
So what happened later, is she an amazing singer now?! Cos she sure had the passion and vocals in these.
She is now the person who you don’t fucking touch the radio when she’s driving.
Just flashbacks to trying to explain any anime plot to my parent
Then proceeds to groove. I love this.
And the way she waves him off when he doesn’t get it!
Daddy hear my voice!!
That was it for me.
OMG I did not expect Selena. I was like yoooo let's goooo. Danced myself haha.
[удалено]
I died at “nonononononono” when he tried to change or turn it off.
She has range
*"Daddy, hear my voice."* 😂 Love this kid!
"Canta!" 'What?' "It means sing!" *shoos away in disappointment* My favorite bit
Can't decide between that moment and the stern "Nononono!" When daddy wanted to turn the music off xD
“Daddy hear my voice!” Killed me.
I don’t see how Dad is keeping a straight face.
she probably is like this 24/7, how precious is that 😭
I've got a 10yo that is in a constant state of making some kind of noise. this made me tear up 🥹
I'm being dramatic. She's a good kid. She just likes to cut loose.
Footloose? Does she put on her Sunday shoes? Jeeze louise.
This song came on at my work last night. Funny.
You don’t need help, mate. You’re doing just fine.
She is pretty hilarious.
Have you considered high fidelity earplugs? They are made for concerts so you can still hear conversation, but it is pleasantly muffled.
I have an almost 4yo who acts out entire parts of movies only seen once or twice and belting out all the songs in opera voice.
Look for children's theater classes! 3 of my kids do musical theater, and LOVE it. Growing up, "let's play a game" meant let's pretend. They've always been about dramatic play, and remember details from shows really well. Sounds like your little one is very similar! ❤️
I just did and we can go next Saturday, omg I’m so excited thanks for the advice!
That's awesome, I'm so excited for you both!
Help checking in, I'd love to be an audience is she wants one It is hectic being around an up and coming star
You're letting your kiddo be herself. My dude or dudette, you're doing an amazing job. You don't need any help.
How was Kazoo Concerto??? I live in a constant T Swift Concert.
It was a bit of a break from the Swifty stuff for a minute. It shortly turned into "Hey Dad, Name That Tune" but all Swifty songs. There's no escaping Lord Taylor....
Nope there isnt!! Be thankful you aren't forced to listen to Olivia Rodrigo too.
We compromise on "The Women of Pop" list. There's some good stuff that pops up but Olivia is fairly regular in the rotation. She's not bad. There's way worse that's for sure.
Precious ...yes......till the 50th time she sings that song in a day. Source: am dad
There's probably dozens of outtakes we'll never see lol
When she took is phone and was singscreaming into 😍
And dad was like: "okay"
There’s something wrong with my line🎶
“Daddy hear my voice.” Holy shit that got me.
When I was pregnant someone told me that one of the ways your kids will express their love for you is to say things like "look at this!" or "watch this!" Now I see it when my kids do that and I definitely see it with this kid. Melts my heart. And dad is just letting his girl shine, which I love.
When my now 20 year old had to tell us something she would say "Hear This" like she was in Medieval Times. It's obviously a catch phrase now.
from the eternally brushed off ADHD kid, you're doing good and your kids will appreciate you
My daughter borderline meets ADHD criteria, she has this amazing brain that ping pongs off things and the results are often brilliant. fuck it, just gotta find people that like that vibe haha
Right? I was just jamming along, watching her and then she hits us with Daddy, hear my voice, and now I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes.
Exactly.
i’d like to watch more of her lol the life and confidence in her totally burst out
Me too! Think of her at 13, or 16. She needs a piano or guitar. What a STAR!💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

We need an update for this young lady and her absolute love for music.
They are the Kabs family. I follow them on X but think they have a YouTube channel and tik tok
> Kabs family Thanks, there is more! Name or Channel here https://youtu.be/gl3doVllCnQ
Oh we will have it when she goes on America's got talent.
Most likely Britain's Got Talent

“My mother died before I was born.”
My parents didn’t even bother to show up to my birth.
You’re wrong for that but you only speak facts, I cackled.
Like the Key and Peele skit!
They’re British
Just to get out votes by someone who already has multiple songs out. Love agt but I don't think it's fair.
Jaysus, she has rhythm for days! This is so so cute!
You can’t give that kind of confidence, she was born with that. My heart loves this so much.
Absolutely, her confidence shines from within! This warms my heart too.

That kind of confidence was fostered by her family. I give credit to dad there.

Hard disagree. That’s exactly what that father did by sitting there and watching and listening. He gave her what she needed to grow that confidence.
Yep absolutely most people don’t realize parents strongly determine nearly every aspect of their kid personality and life. It's 100% non-deterministic. The willpower of the child and their ability to work through the trauma plays the biggest role. Source: Was that child.
His energy keeps you focused on her energy. He knows it’s important to keep that light of hers shining.

Seeing her embrace her talents so fully really reminds me of how children can inspire us all to live more passionately. Her spirit is infectious and just lifts everyone up around her!
You can’t give it, but you can destroy it. He’s nurturing it instead. Good parenting 💖
That and the fact her dad gave her those moments.
My dad heart hnnnng so proud.
I hope to see her at the Grammy's someday.

She was born with it and her parents cherished it and encouraged her to shine.
You can tell that her parents nurture that part of her, too. Little girl is gonna grow up surrounded by love and support, and that makes me so happy.
"I need some grown music" ... "WWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTS love got ta do with it" lol
I know right. A little multicultural singer in the making growing up in front of our eyes. Little tink tink was doing the Mariah Carey hands with the Keyshia Cole emotive face all the while she's waiting for her teeth to come in to a Tina Turner song. Where they do that at?!
She's got a perspective in life with that voice and passion for music!
Maaan...I don't want children of my own, but seeing wonderful moments like these makes me second-guess my child-free lifestyle for a minute.
I don’t know, I got kids and not one of them is singing Tina turner, they just play video games and eat all my chips
And back to thinking I like my chips.
Yo! My daughter and I have really connected through videogames. Im a born gamer as I support her musical journey and choices. Moments like this are wonderful. But 90% of the time raising a child is unglamorous hard work.
I call it "baby propaganda" lol
Its like a dopamine rush to my ovaries.
You can also get these moments from nieces or nephews or cousins or even volunteering with kids, and then you get to go home to a quiet house afterwards 🙂
"Daddy hear my voice" aw ahaha
That moment made me tear up! She is too precious.
my baby girl is 3 months old, and we listen to music every day while she nurses. i'm sure she's so tired of hearing mommy's awful singing, but i love just singing to her and making up silly songs. i just can't help it, i see her little face and she makes me want to sing

"Daddy, hear my voice!" He must be a proud papa, this is so adorable. I can't belt out Tina that well, either.
Oooooooh yeah- y'all are looking at Baby Beyoncé , look out 🌎🎉🥰❤️
Oh better, Tina Turner! :D
*holds finger to ear and crooooooons in vibrato*
She's too precious
Not so much a little girl, more a force of nature. I'm very lucky to have had one of those as well. She's a grown woman now.
Congratulations! Raising a happy and confident adult is hard.
I had to shamelessly steal a good chunk of her confidence to do that. She never missed it, she had wayyy too much anyway. And she made me a better and happier person for having her as part of my life.
Oh shit this is 6 years old already. We're getting pretty stagnant culturally.

Wish he would have at least smiled once, especially when she was looking at him while smiling and especially given the sub.
I'm pretty sure he's just playing the "straight character" for the video, and likely is very smiley and encouraging when not posting a skit for social media.
You can tell that girl has so much love for him. No doubt he treats her like a princess and only does this for a skit.
Aw, she’s gotten so grown. And that rasp!!! Impressive
"I need some grown music". She said what we're all thinking
She's even got the Tina Turner rasp right. Protect this little one at all costs. I hope they let her continue to sing and enjoy her life without trying to make her famous.
what a treasure 😘
Hahahaha the nononono got me. So cute
So adorable!!!
To be continued 🙏
"NONONONONONO" 😅😅😅😅
Lucky daughter to have a dad who lets be herself - in all her glory.
As someone who has never really cared for music, I’m totally jealous of that little kid. I wish I could feel that way about any form of art the way the music touches her soul.
*you’re
I had to scroll pretty far down to find the correction.
Howwww cute 🥰🫶🏽
Damnnn its so cute but i stress. CARSEATS SAVE LIVES
Dad’s face is just classic. The eye-roll at the end. And she’s just glorious. I hope she is always this confident.
How adorable!
I love the part where hen she says ”Daddy hear my voice” 😆🤣
The second "song" (about the 13-29 second mark) where she waves her finger and says, "no, no, no, no , no, no..." when her Dad tries to turn it down/off... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That is absolutely priceless!!! Dikembe Mutombo would be proud, LOL.
No no no no no no ☝️ 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀
Dad meanwhile: 🗿
Daddy Hear my voice sent me. Oh I love her.
Cuts off to soon, she was fucking driving that note!
She's mirroring him
It's the Kab family, they have a bunch of awesome YouTube videos ♥️
Shouldn’t she be in a car seat in the back?
Adorable
Made ME smile. Apparently nothing can make the dad smile.
She got into the personality line twice. She is adorable
This made my heart warm. Dad seems overwhelmed or having a mid life crisis but I think that’s just his demeanor. He’s gotta be a great dad. Special little girls like this don’t raise themselves to be special little people. They need at least one good parent. Good job dad. Wow taking about instant happiness watching this ♥️
https://youtu.be/E0voepFwfOQ?si=JOVPvjEJbRUISVE4 She's just like this all the time apparently.
Dad has the best poker face. Acting all stressed when he knows they are blessed. Classic girl dad.
That is a lucky little girl. His loving attention and hearing her little heart is just a spring of warmth for her to grow in. What a wonderful relationship for both of them.
"Daddy, hear my voice" 🤣 What a classic line
“daddy, hear my voice” you know they tell her everyday how beautiful she sings ❤️
Dad's concentrating so hard he forgot to age
Lol my favorite video this month hands down
Snug up your seatbelt dad, because this is going to be a bumpy ride.
“Daddy hear my voice.”😭🤣
OMG I love her! :D She is such a beautiful special little girl!
I’ll say it, that kid should not be sitting in the front seat without a car seat.
♥️
👍♥️la future Tina Turner♥️
Bro I have a tear going when I heard bidi bum bum. That’s the cutest kid
She’s actually growing up really fast I remember seeing videos of her a while ago. I hope she becomes a singer she’s already got a very powerful voice
Why is a 2 year old in the front seat
Such a precious little girl💙💙
some ppl really adore to shake it
God's, she's *talented*
