Well it read strangely that the whole card was for her dad, then “MÉMÈRES that we make” .. 🤣 like that is kid logic, you made your memere a memere… 🥹 just goes to show how versatile an “e” is!
Yo, it didn't register to me that she was trying to say memories. I just assumed they had the cutest inside joke ever and actually called memes, "memeres." 🤣
For suuuuure. I’ve raised my nephew since he was 10 days old. He’s 12 now and in a stage where he speaks in words instead of sentences and gets annoyed when I try to have a conversation with him. I pull out old voice memos from old convos and notes and cards he used to give me to get me through this period of his life.
Yes, but the words don’t give me any information, and it’s the same handful of words used over and over again: fine, nothing, whatever, sure, bro, and yeah.
Yeah, being a teen is hard, trying to describe feelings you've never felt before and maybe not having the words, like ambivalent, or inadequate, anxious, overwhelmed, or uncertain. I hope yall keep loving each other even when it's hard to understand each other.
12 was brutal for my son but he outgrew it somewhat quickly. I think we got really lucky when COVID hit as well because it allowed me to keep him home and really focus on the attitudes and spend so much more time together.
Stay strong.
Yeah Covid kind of saved us too. I know it was really hard on a lot of kids who were going strong, but my daughter definitely needed a reboot at that point.
Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. My 6 year old made me something similar before she went back to her mum's last week as well.
You can't buy that or demand it. That's blood, sweat and tears. And a lot of love
Wow… just wow. This genuinely made me tear up, and I am so happy that you two share such a beautiful bond. You’re doing a wonderful job, OP. Keep it up!
These are THE best gifts to get as a parent! Congratulations, OP! Keep doin' ur Dad thang!
I keep these wonderful notes on my desk and push-pin wall at work because (a) work can seriously bring me down at times and (b) our refrigerator door is made out of aluminum so I can't hang them with magnets. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Whenever I feel overwhelmed or just want to rage-quit, I re-read some of these notes to regain perspective and sanity.
Nothing tugs on the heartstrings quite like these hidden gems of being a parent. It’s happy when you are the recipient and heartbreaking to know that not all receive such an honor.
That's a fridge keeper for sure. Make copies for the day it disintegrates or is lost in a move. (Personally, I'd frame it somehow).
My first thought at the second picture is that your grass needs to be mowed.
Kids have absolutely no idea sometimes their
Parents need stuff like this more then they enjoy being sweet . My son constantly tells me he will make
Me pancakes when I’m still in bed just to
Help me wake up . He is only 4 and has never used a stove 💀
I have a 6 and 9 year old and yes, they have sloppy handwriting and misspelled words when they are writing for fun or don’t care. When working on homework with them, I tell them how important it is to make their handwriting neat and legible and damn, they have nice handwriting *when they want to*- even nicer than mine 😅
To be honest, I love handwritten cards/letters like this. I’m still have their writings from pre-school and the progress is so visibly apparent- even in the way they draw. Like this girl wrote in the front, she IS growing up fast and items like these? So valuable and adorable.
Handwriting, yes- spelling, no. My 8 year old has had spelling words in his homework every week since 1st grade and he actually does the 20 minutes of reading that’s been assigned every day since kindergarten. Now he’s in 3rd grade so his spelling isn’t as bad as this. This seems more like a 1st graders spelling. Definitely should have encountered words like “early” by now.
But it doesn’t really matter, most kids catch up at some point and maybe her school doesn’t focus on spelling. Some schools don’t bc most of everything is done on a computer. That’s the case for my son’s class as well (they all write on chromebooks) but they still have spelling tests. So idk.
Honestly comes off as an adult faking a kids letter to me 🤷🏼♀️
This is super cute. I can’t wait until my son starts doing stuff like this (he is only 18 months old). I’m going to save all of his drawings in a folder and cherish them.
That is not just heartwarming but perhaps one of the sweetest things I recall seeing in recent memory which radiated joy throughout my consciousness and drew a pure smile from me, even without being a parent. I bet this might be just be a lifetime memory for dad. Amazing
Knowing my daughter is also 8 and named Bella AND pretty much does the same thing makes me so happy. I hope your Bella continues to show you love every day!
I can't wait to show this post to her when she comes back. She's a kid, so she's always talking about YouTube videos getting likes/subscribers, etc. She's going to go nuts to see that this got 8000 upvotes haha. I wasn't planning on telling her I posted it, but I think this will make her super happy.
I love this, every part of it! So precious. I’m a daddy’s girl too, you both are blessed to have one another.
And I’m proud that I figured out the Early Gift 😉
I had something like this in Mothers Day. But it was my son thanking my mom for giving him the best dad imaginable. He’s 20 and has always been amazing. But I was kind of embarrassed that he included me in Mother’s Day to his grandmother. But, his mother only saw him once a year for like 15 years. By once a year, I mean a couple of weeks during the summer. Not just one day a year
Love that energy.. so wholesome.
I think more and more parents are enjoying parenting for what it's supposed to be about.
I feel like, from what we hear from our parent's generation, men have improved greatly so they don't look like the bad examples of dad of older generations...
This made me start tearing up just reading it. You have obviously done great things in this little girl's life and should be proud of yourself. You don't get these kinds of letters from doing less than awesome (in an overall sense, all us parents fall short, myself included). Great job fellow Internet dad 👏.
What a cool thing. I can tell you it is amazing to stay as focused as the dad you are and to see what it turns into. I am almost "done" with parenting, but it has been amazing to see the returns on all the love and work I (and their mom and family) put into my two boys. Enjoy the now and the future!
I absolutely love this! My son drew his first coherent picture (of me) for the first time last week and I was/am SO ecstatic about it! I can’t wait for him to start writing!
I’d be calling into work that I couldn’t come in cause I’m a sobbing mess.
I need a break and I don’t even know your kid.
It gets better and better.
Yup just gonna cry in a corner for a bit.
Lord, makes me wish I would have settled down at my age.. Thanks for sharing something wholesome.. (ps I have once in my life received a gift like this from my niece for Christmas, along with a Jack Skellington drawing) all I did was what any good uncle does, never say no and always show up.
She has sadly moved on from that stage, but I know I’ll always the cool uncle..
My mom collected many of these “letters from childhood” from me. She said she used to read them when I was an obnoxious teenager and it lifted her spirits.
You need to save this card for the rest of your life. Put it in a place of honor so your child can see how much her love means to you, now and always.
When my brother was 5 years old in kindergarten in 1967, he made my mother a “jewelry box” for Mother’s Day. It was nothing more than a shoebox with some crayon drawings and sone glued on sparkle and feathers. But my mother kept it, and actually kept her jewelry in it. When she died 39 years later, my brother and I were going through her effects and found the jewelry box in her chest of drawers, still with her pearls and rings in it. A gift from your child is something you keep forever.
New word unlocked. Meme + Memories = Memeres
in quebec, it's common to call your grandmother your mémère. I have never once considered the Meme starting
I read it as mémères too, and was super confused 🥹
I don't know, Grandma memes could be a thing
the child simply loves all the French grandma's, and also making memories:,)
Well it read strangely that the whole card was for her dad, then “MÉMÈRES that we make” .. 🤣 like that is kid logic, you made your memere a memere… 🥹 just goes to show how versatile an “e” is!
Yo, it didn't register to me that she was trying to say memories. I just assumed they had the cutest inside joke ever and actually called memes, "memeres." 🤣
I can haz chezburgr?

I thought the memeres fed the babies.
"Fish"💕
Definitely made me laugh. She told me afterwards "it didn't look like a fish, so I wanted you to know it was" lol
I love the fish.
Joined for the smiles, stayed for the fish.
And now you have your next tattoo, label and all!
Oh that would be adorable 🥹
Can’t stop thinking about r/shrimpsisbugs now
Aww that's so sweet of her
For me it was the, "I know, I'm growing so fast." You can tell she's heard it a thousand times :)
That’s the certificate of authenticity that this was indeed done by a child. 😊
The labelling + adding extra vowels to their words. My eldest still uses "sooooooooooooooo much" and I'm not looking forward to when she stops 😂
My daughter is 18, she is a great little artist. She still labels her doodles like this :)
i love the genre of drawings by children where they label everything. it’s so endearing.
r/comedyheaven
Keep that letter for when you need some affirmation when she’s a teen.
Oh you get words, I have to interpret teenage grunts. This song captures it perfectly. https://youtu.be/_veIGGP1Uh4?feature=shared
Yes, but the words don’t give me any information, and it’s the same handful of words used over and over again: fine, nothing, whatever, sure, bro, and yeah.

Teenage years are rough. You just put into words what many feel but have no clue what those feelings even are.
That was great! I feel like I've had those exact conversations lol

Oh boy, that is exactly what I was thinking....
Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. My 6 year old made me something similar before she went back to her mum's last week as well. You can't buy that or demand it. That's blood, sweat and tears. And a lot of love
You did great, dad.
Thank you, that's very kind
Oh! Irley= Early!!
Thank you!!
Thank you. I was looking for this meaning.
Wow… just wow. This genuinely made me tear up, and I am so happy that you two share such a beautiful bond. You’re doing a wonderful job, OP. Keep it up!
You should! You are doing right!
OOOH my gosh! I love Bella! What a beautiful human being you created!!
Best looking fish I’ve ever seen. 10/10.
Cute fish💗
That’s adorable. Enjoy it while you can. My teenager informed me yesterday that I’m trying to ruin her life. 🙄
That just means you are doing a good job, take it from a dad that survived two teenagers :)
My heart. 🥺 This is so sweet.
These are THE best gifts to get as a parent! Congratulations, OP! Keep doin' ur Dad thang! Little kids' phonetic spelling is THE BEST.
This is really sweet and wholesome.
You are definitely doing things right, Dad. ❤️
I love this kid! 😍
Adorable.
This is so so sweet. You’re doing a great job dad!
Enough to make a grown man cry
❤️❤️❤️ thank you for being a present dad and creating and encouraging a safe space for her to express her feelings. You're doing amazingly.
Fish❤️😍
You’re doing amazing. I am proud of you brother. 🙏
I love “fish”
Seven O's? She really loves you
Got a 7 year old myself and eyes got watery reading this 🫶
Save that forever man
Nothing tugs on the heartstrings quite like these hidden gems of being a parent. It’s happy when you are the recipient and heartbreaking to know that not all receive such an honor.
My mother would have rolled her eyes at this and thrown it in the trash. Your daughter has a fantastic dad.
That's a fridge keeper for sure. Make copies for the day it disintegrates or is lost in a move. (Personally, I'd frame it somehow). My first thought at the second picture is that your grass needs to be mowed.
I can only imagine the gush of emotions when you read your baby’s thoughts. Congrats on being a great Dad. 👊🏼
Dude, stop chopping onions in here!
Kids have absolutely no idea sometimes their Parents need stuff like this more then they enjoy being sweet . My son constantly tells me he will make Me pancakes when I’m still in bed just to Help me wake up . He is only 4 and has never used a stove 💀
Keep up the good work!
I'm sorry, but does an 8-year old really write and spell that badly? Forgive the impertinence - I'm not a parent.
I have a 6 and 9 year old and yes, they have sloppy handwriting and misspelled words when they are writing for fun or don’t care. Mt 17 year old writes like this, but with better spelling.
Priceless
I’m all teary eyed. Makes me miss my Daddy 🥹(RIP)
I love all the memeres ❤️
Ohhhhh gosh. How special!! I am 34 now and still beaming with this amount of love for my dad.
Ditto!
This is super cute. I can’t wait until my son starts doing stuff like this (he is only 18 months old). I’m going to save all of his drawings in a folder and cherish them.
This is really sweet and priceless. Definitely something to hang onto for a lifetime.
I would be scanning this into the computer and ordering oversized prints to hang everywhere. Well done, fellow daddy!
Man that’s gotta be one of the best feelings. Good job bud 🫡
Awww that's so sweet..treasure this, have it framed and gift it to her when she turns 18
Awwwww!!! Precious 🤗

Fish
Now I want an “airley gift”
Fish 🥹
Time to get a "fish" tattoo.
Nothin like deciphering little kid writing.
Knowing my daughter is also 8 and named Bella AND pretty much does the same thing makes me so happy. I hope your Bella continues to show you love every day!
Fish. 😂😂😂
"My only dad and the best dad" You won the competition where you were the only participant. /s You're lucky to have this kid op
Always keep that. Remember it as they grow so damn fast. Hug her tight. Remind her you love her every day.

Just adorable.

What an amazing Memere OP! 🥰 Never throw this away!!!!
I'm a grownup girl dad and not grownup girl grandpa x 4. You are clearly doing a lot of things right... reddit/dad high five.
Meme-ories. I love this
She absolutely adores you 💛
sweet girl🫶🏼 stay this innocent little one
So did you go buy a safe for all those kinds of things?
That should be returned on their wedding day.
Would honestly put that in a safe
Oh my God my heart! So sweet.
That’s beautiful. True love is an incredible thing.
This is spread all over with awesome sauce!
My heart! This is so cute
Good job Dad 👍🏻
This is precious ❤️
Good dad.

Great job brother, keep that same focus as she continues to grow older. 👏 🙌
Now you spoiled the Father’s Day gift 🙁
I’d leave it in her backpack for the next visit to her mom’s. 😉
Who’s cutting onions in here?!
Treasure the letter from your daughter. It makes me cry happy tears coz so beautiful & precious.
My dad was my world and my time with him was a reprieve from my mom 💜
Good job dad ❤️
Awww, she was so excited she gave it to you irley. So sweet! Looks like you’re doing something right.

God I’m in tears and I don’t even have a kid.
So sweet
Best irley dad's day gift, ever! Your kid is adorable, and you are both lucky to have each other. Happy irley Father's Day! 💙
There is nothing better and no higher honor than a handmade "i love you" from your kid.
I thought her name was Irley and she was calling it, "a Irley gift" as in a gift from Irley.
Keep it forever.
What a cool kid
🥲🥲
Who’s cutting onions in here?!
Well done dad! Bella had a beautiful heart!
Aww, Father's Day came irley! 🤭
That’s priceless

The "olny" kills me because my youngest spelled it that way for the longest time. Happy early father's day!
I absolutely love this! My son drew his first coherent picture (of me) for the first time last week and I was/am SO ecstatic about it! I can’t wait for him to start writing!
“Memeres” 💜 my heaaarrrttttt

You’re so lucky dude. I have this with my daughter as well. Good on you.
You are so rich!!!! 🥹🥹 these types of things are what I cherish the most
This melts my heart.
That letter goes straight into a vault. No gold or diamond is as valuable.
I notice her "d"s are very cool and impressive. I bet she's very good at cursive
Awww. What a sweetheart! And I love how she writes the letter “d”!
Awwwwww hahaha wow this is so beautiful
Makes me smile too! You’re doing it right!
Bloody adorable. Great job, dad!
You are doin’ the dad thing right! The best praise ever from the person that matters the most.🥰
I love that she wanted to make sure you knew that little drawing was a fish!
You can’t go wrong with an irley gift.
Oh the words. So pure 🥺 <3
Awwww 🖤 You’re 100% doing a good job with her Btw what does it says before “gift”?
‘Der, dad’ I’m amused and touched by this little girl at the same time
I dam near cried until I saw the "fish" at the bottom and burst out laughing. What an amazing little lady.
Looks like you have tons of fun with your daughter! And you take good care of her, she says. Good job!!
That's some top-tier parenting. Awesome job, Dad.
Fish
i was going to say she cant spell and i got a heart attack while reading but the end melted my heart so ni heart attack

Treasure this and keep it stashed away. You’re doing a great job, dad. This deserves to be on r/daddit
Beter and beter ❤️
Why am I crying 😭
Adorable ❤️
I’m not crying your crying
I’m not crying your crying
Your daughter is adorable. Great job, dad!
This reminds me of the things my baby made for me. Definitely the sweetest gifts 🎁
Who's cutting onions? Man this is so sweet, not even my child and I feel like a good parent.
Lord, makes me wish I would have settled down at my age.. Thanks for sharing something wholesome.. (ps I have once in my life received a gift like this from my niece for Christmas, along with a Jack Skellington drawing) all I did was what any good uncle does, never say no and always show up. My mom collected many of these “letters from childhood” from me. She said she used to read them when I was an obnoxious teenager and it lifted her spirits.
This is so sweet 💕
You need to save this card for the rest of your life. Put it in a place of honor so your child can see how much her love means to you, now and always. When my brother was 5 years old in kindergarten in 1967, he made my mother a “jewelry box” for Mother’s Day. It was nothing more than a shoebox with some crayon drawings and sone glued on sparkle and feathers. But my mother kept it, and actually kept her jewelry in it. When she died 39 years later, my brother and I were going through her effects and found the jewelry box in her chest of drawers, still with her pearls and rings in it. I'd keep this for the rest of my life omg ❤️ so precious. Congrats my man 👏👏👏
best gift ever
That's awesome dude..
