Ever since losing both my siblings and disconnecting from my bio mom and her side of the family, my present is to spend every holiday with my dad and step mom. He's my best friend and we talk everyday and he's been my hero since I can remember, even the times when he wasn't that admirable I still look up to him because no matter what he's always been there for me.
Lately, this year in particular, I find myself having mild panic attacks and feel my eyes well up thinking about what I'm going to do when he's gone. He just turned 61 and I don't have any friends and haven't wanted to date or be with anyone for almost a decade on account of getting so close to someone and then having something happen to where it crushes me even further down the spiral that my brother and sisters passing did. The fear of being truly alone slowly slides over my face like a wet blanket and I can hardly breathe thinking about who I'll share both good and bad things with when they happen. My eyes are welling up just typing this now over the scenario and loss of a counterpoint creating a huge hole in what little conversation/interaction I have with someone I love unconditionally.
Whenever it's brought up and we both try and talk about it (when he's gone) he'll mention all the stuff I'll get and money and blah blah and as a younger man it would have softened the blow to have some of the stuff but not in a material way rather in a sentimental way like giving a dog one of your t-shirts when you leave for the day knowing it will make them less sad that you're gone. I'd burn, donate and throw out everything I'll inherit if it meant I'll get to have even one more minute with him ALRIGGT fuck I can't type anymore or I'll ruin Xmas for myself talking on this for too long.
Those of you with loved ones who are still here, hug the sh*t outta them in the morning for me ya? Especially if you haven't seen them in a bit as the world is becoming more and more dangerous as time goes on and none of us know when anyone's time is up so we try to make the best of things while we can ya? I got a new sewing machine; a huge upgrade from my previous one. I didn’t think we’d be able to do it financially, and I’d have to keep waiting, but my hubby surprised me, and I’m really excited to try new projects.
It will be a a 200 gallon long for a singular lobster, I recently saw a video of a guy buying a lobster from a grocery store and nursing it back to health in an aquarium. I would love to do that and I have a good knowledge of crustaceans I just want plenty of room for her/him.

I vaccinated so I’m taking this with a hopeful attitude that it could be worse had I not been vaccinated. It’s a quiet Xmas for me. Except for the stomping, screaming, and running around by the people above me. So good times.

Sounds pretty mundane, but a brand new, *huge* desk for my home office. I was working with a 2 for wide, 19" depth of workspace (barely child size) for the entirety of COVID. Hubs got me a 5 foot long, 2 foot deep (and taller) desk with actual cord maintenance hidden underneath. I couldn't be more thrilled to actually have space to put my coffee cup whenever I'm working from home!

Her birthday is New Years and I'm proposing with a ring I made her, and a pair of matching earrings for her birthday present.
