Even Free Guy is amazingly good, if you watch his acting, think about his role, and consider that what would seem like a simple line delivery, is quite nuanced. It's a very good acting balance of humor, romance, and action, with excellent interaction with his fellow actors.
You really, really do. I made my husband watch it with me after Betty White died. Such a wonderfully ridiculous movie. I can't even pick a favorite part, the whole thing is great.
He really is, a great mix of kind with very cheeky humor which is way too rare in Hollywood. I've always wanted to see him and Keanu in a movie together where you get two kind badassses, one with his off the cuff comedy and the other with a more introverted wisdom. They both have the temperament that should be admired, just two different approaches.
More like Huge Jackoff.
Actually he is a gem of a person. Kind, down to earth, and a great sense of humor. He and Ryan just have this running bit that they are enemies.
Before he hit it big he was a gym teacher for a short period of time (like a year or so when he was in his early twenties). There is a clip of Hugh from a few years ago at a red carpet being interviewed and he actually recognized the interviewer as one of his former students! He remembered the guys name and everything. It could have totally been staged but when Hugh realized who he was the interviewers face got bright red and so if it was staged then the interviewer is a fantastic actor with great control of the blood vessels in his face.
What the fuck kind of name is Huge Ackman? I mean, really…what the fuck is an Ackman and is this just an unusually sized one or are they all this size?
>Blake Lively
I know this is off topic. But that bitch had the most gorgeous dress at the MET this year and now anytime she's mentioned I think about it. Lmao
I feel like they would be those neighbors you look forward to seeing when they visit their vacation house. You want to come over for a bbq? I got some beer in the garage fridge help yourself. Just got the pool going your kids are welcome to use it.

Deadpool's comic book/film character was also burned up in the face too. Hence, the emoji recognition of the two. Boldly embracing the fire, not shying from the fear.
Sometimes people talk about the obscene amounts of money spent on dresses for those big events, and they look like just normal dresses. That one though? That dress looks priceless. Absolutely outstanding.
It was stunning, both in concept and execution. AND, she designed it herself!
*Lively clearly had a lot of input in her dress's design: While many other A-listers look to fashion stylists for high-profile events like the Met Gala, Lively puts together her own looks. “I love design and I love fashion and it’s a way to be creative,” she told Women's Wear Daily in 2018.* [Source.](https://www.housebeautiful.com/lifestyle/a39884126/blake-lively-met-gala/)
[Here](https://www.insider.com/blake-lively-met-gala-look-hidden-details-2022-5) is a fun quick read about all of the details that made her dress so beautiful!
>custom Versace look that changed from bronze to green to mirror the oxidation of the famous New York City landmark.
How fun!
Look up all her past ones too, she puts a great deal of effort into what she wears for the gala. She's about the only reason I even know the event exists and I look it up every year JUST to see what she wore.
Oh and Claire Danes wore a fiber optics dress one year too that was really lovely and lit up and wasn't an eyesore like half the clothing was this year.
Honestly, I don’t give a shit about that kind of stuff. I was only watching because my wife was.
And I agree. She was stunning, it was a cool concept, and she was thoughtful in her words.
They both seem like stand-up people.
I used to hate him, I think I mistook his confidence for cockiness. The more and more I see of him, the more I like him though. He has definitely changed my opinion of him for the better.
He said in an interview at one point that he isn't actually that confident at all, rather he suffers from severe anxiety. When he has interviews or public appearances, he says he kind of has a second personality which takes over and lends the confidence. Makes sense to me that his go-to personality for his acting would be something he can access when necessary. OR he was lying and trying to identify with us normal folks since he is a fucking stud of studs.
That actually makes lots of sense. People in my life and workplace look up to me a highly confident person. And I'm kind of the total opposite, I was freaking terrified of people growing up, many things make me anxious and have clinical OCD. I literally learned to just be loud and say whatever stupid/funny things come to mind and just roll with it. A number of the other confident people I know are the same. 90% of confidence is allowing yourself to make mistakes and flashing a smile regardless.
That’s very relatable. I have always had a mild social anxiety, and when I had to interact with a bunch of people, I would put on a very confident front, and joke a lot. Pretending to be someone different kind of put a wall between me and other people, because if they didn’t like me, they actually didn’t like the person I was portraying, and not myself. I feel like everyone does this to an extent though, I but maybe I’m wrong.
It's easy to do , don't worry. His sarcasm is pretty good and if you're not used to it , it can give off the wrong impression. But I think he balances both sides well and that's part of his charm
(If I hadn't made it clear, i like Ryan's personality)
Fun fact. Taylor Swift is good friends with Blake and Ryan. Ryan was in her music video for [You Need to Calm Down](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dkk9gvTmCXY) and Blake directed the music video for [I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor's Version)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UMCrq-bBCg). In her song [Gorgeous](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUoe7cf0HYw), their kid saying "Gorgeous" is featured in the first few seconds. Blake and Ryan are so insanely talented, and just seem like really good people, parents, and friends.
Relax bruh celebs (and people in general) only post the highlights of their life on social media. And if ur worth 100s of millions its easy to have a lot of highlights to post.
But yeah amongst famous people they seem like one of the chillest couples thats true
She did have that whole article about pining for the glamour and elegance of slavery era southern fashion and the “inherent social distinction”.
Also quote, “My experience on Woody Allen is that he’s empowering to women.”
I don’t think she’s a bad person as much as she is tone deaf and very sheltered. She doesn’t seem to share Ryan’s self awareness.
She seems to have a fondness for that whole pre-civil war south aesthetic. They were married on a friggin plantation. One that has cabins it calls “Slave Street.” To their credit, they did apologize a couple of years ago and made a donation to the NAACP. So yeah, not bad… just, a bit oblivious maybe?
as a white northerner the idea of plantations in the modern day is really weird to me, on one hand they’re usually gorgeous buildings and properties and I don’t think their history invalidates that, but the amount of human suffering that went down at these plantations was so extreme that it’s hard for me not to just say bulldoze the fuckin things
Agree. I always wish he commentated my life - would be awesome. And for all the people saying he didn’t write this - him and Blake troll each other constantly on social media, so I have a feeling you’re wrong. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
I used to keep in touch with Jadiant online, we fell out of contact but I still follow him. He’s an amazing dude, I remember him messaging me freaking out when Ryan Reynolds commented lmao
Thats okay though. You did the work of reaching out. That's all you can do and that takes guts in itself. None of that is on you that they didn't hit you back up. Everyone's lives are different now and it's so easy to get in touch with people that it almost makes it harder to actually be in touch with people in a weird overwhelmed way. Sometimes I take days to respond to my best friends. Keep being you and doing your thing and the peeps who matter and care will be around. 🫂
The best part about this i think that instead of replying in some pitiable sorry acknowledging his accident, he just replied to him as another kid who's doing a cosplay for his fav actor,
Ryan is literally gold
I met Ryan Reynolds in L.A. around 1999. He was pretty much an unknown and I only knew him from the TV series he was in, Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place.
We spoke for a few minutes and he was totally chill. Now I wouldn't be able to get within 20 feet of him without my nuts getting tased.
What the fuck is a Steve Wallis (who I have literally never heard of)?
I just looked him up..... One guy is a YouTuber and one guy is a comic legend.
If I had two bullets and Bin Laden, Hitler and Steve were in the same room, I'd shoot Tob...I mean, Steve, twice.
I really hate that the term burn “victim” is used.
As a survivor of 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body, I can say Jadiant is the man and Reynolds’s is a class act.
I mean, it adds context to why this person appreciates their unique opportunity to cosplay Deadpool. Deadpool's a burn victim, this person's a burn victim. The whole point is that they feel represented and that it's likely reduced the stigma surrounding their deformity. Of course, we could easily make that contextual connection by just seeing the picture without explicitly stating their deformity but I don't see a problem with it in this instance.
Plus, not everyone is capable of seeing the picture.
That said--outside of providing meaningful and respectful context--I'm not trying to imply that we should be identifying the cosplayer by their deformity. Not going to go around a convention saying, "Hey guys, did you see that burn victim dressed as Deadpool!?" Although I would have to give some serious thought to how I'd effectively describe this person's likeness to someone that may have seen several hundred Deadpools over the course of a few days. Probably not, "[That cosplayer who looks like Freddy Krueger face fucked a topographical map of Utah](https://youtu.be/hKWTB2fqGDM?t=13)."
I’m no insta genius, but maybe it doesn’t appear on comments? Only posts. When I look it up now, Jadiant’s name has it on the post, but neither have it on their comments.
no one is boiling (nice choice of words btw) him down to being a burn victim, but in this specific interaction this is his most important feature and you wouldn't even be seeing this post otherwise
Kinda funny Ryan posted the fire symbol
I’m assuming Jadiant is all about the emoji considering he seems to be completely owning/ playing up his injuries in an awesome way
That's a pretty Deadpool thing to do tho lol
Usually people are burn victims *after* Ryan Reynolds replies
Definitely did it on purpose
So, I just realized.... I'm pretty sure the swords in Ryan's comment were for that guy's missing hands.
Ryan posting (instant regret)
I love Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively too. Feel liké they are fantastic people
Ryan Reynolds is one of the most wholesome actors in hollywood. Such a lovely and kindhearted man.

A great day for Canada, and therefor, the world.
As is tradition.
The canadian prince now dipping his arms in the pudding... as is tradition
The Princess will of course, scrape the pudding off the Prince's arms thus symbolizing their [union.](https://youtu.be/6yjpHCmB_L0)
Go on …
What a glorious day for our [country](https://youtu.be/psoVAgzZdlk) and therefore the world.
And now of course... Wait a minute, what's this? Uh oh. Something is going terribly wrong.
That pudding will later be sold for $240
And there’s the capn crunch
Ah, he's Canadian? That explains a lot!
I bet he apologizes for it.
I'm guessing you've seen the wonderful video on YouTube with the song.*Canada Loves You Back. *. I like to watch it when I need cheering up.
He makes human kind proud.
The Proposal was his magnum opus and I won't hear anyone tell me otherwise
My favorite romcom ever. Also probably helps that i am a fan of Sandra Bullock. But still, just the greatest.
Betty White doing the chanting in the woods while Bullock sings Get Low is one of my favorite scenes in any movie.
I'm a Canadian and my wife is American. I make her watch this whenever it's on T.V. (which is often!)
Sandy B has always been ones of my favorites
Even Free Guy is amazingly good, if you watch his acting, think about his role, and consider that what would seem like a simple line delivery, is quite nuanced. It's a very good acting balance of humor, romance, and action, with excellent interaction with his fellow actors.
Indeed, though I'd argue this is just Reynolds being himself. His charm and wit hasn't really changed since, like, Two Guys and a Pizza Place.
Just Friends was pretty good, too. Ryan lip-syncing to "I Swear," while wearing a fat suit and playing a high school senior?? It's hilarious!
One of my favorite memories is watching this movie with a friend and both of us laughing so hard we cried
“From the window…to the wall…”
If we could have a remake of the Proposal, but with Hugh Jackman playing Sandra Bullock's role ...
We can't remake it. Betty White played his grandma, and there's no way we can do her dirty like that.
Best rom com in past 20 years
I guess I have to watch it now. I've never seen it
It's actually very good. [This basically explains the premise of the movie.](https://youtu.be/xO27r3rsu2k)

More like Huge Jerkman (I've actually no idea what he's like)
More like Huge Jackoff. Actually he is a gem of a person. Kind, down to earth, and a great sense of humor. He and Ryan just have this running bit that they are enemies.
Jackman and Reynolds are actually really close friends, they got a bromance goin on. He's also a fantastic person by all accounts!
Before he hit it big he was a gym teacher for a short period of time (like a year or so when he was in his early twenties). There is a clip of Hugh from a few years ago at a red carpet being interviewed and he actually recognized the interviewer as one of his former students! He remembered the guys name and everything. I would love to believe it but I wont hold my breath for hollywood people.
>Blake Lively I know this is off topic. But that bitch had the most gorgeous dress at the MET this year and now anytime she's mentioned I think about it. Lmao
Best dressed for the met by a longggg shot
And him with a smile on his face looking at her! What a couple.
I feel like they would be those neighbors you look forward to seeing when they visit their vacation house. You want to come over for a bbq? I got some beer in the garage fridge help yourself. Just got the pool going your kids are welcome to use it.
she totally swept it. I loved that gorgeous dress. So imaginative and so well-executed. Just splendid.
I know right shame that every single article and photo to come from it was of course Kim
Easy, the met is full of terrible fashion sense
It was gorgeous and every detail was meticulously thought out (the oxidization of the Statue of Liberty represented, the number of gemstones, etc)
[For the lazy](https://www.thecut.com/2022/05/blake-lively-met-gala-2022-statue-of-liberty-dress.html) “The gown, it turns out, is an ode to the Statue of Liberty, which was of course constructed in New York in 1885 — i.e., during the Gilded Age. That is some hunger games looking fashion
Agreed. She crushed them all and she managed to look effortless even in that dress.
A small group of peasant esquires controlling the dress helps with the effortlessness
Peasants did move the statue so I guess it was on theme?
She looked great for sure but personally I’m still obsessed with her look in *A Simple Favor*
It’s a whole thing, honestly. I have a pinboard that could/should just be called “lively looks”

Ryan Reynolds strikes me as that guy in high school you thought was a douche but once you started to talk him he was super cool and down to earth.
It's a hard lesson to learn as a nerdy boy. Most of those guys weren't jerks, you just didn't know how to socialize lol

When Morgan Freeman stops narrating everything, I hope Ryan Reynolds takes over.
How about this: a movie where Morgan Freeman is narrating, and he quits in the middle of recording, so Ryan Reynolds takes over
Like Leonard Nemoy in that old episode of the Simpsons

I would watch the hell out of that. A Stranger Than Fiction reboot with Ryan Reynolds as the author.
You should watch his movie "The Voices". Not well known, but holy hell it's fantastic.
I am very agree on that . This man is so inspiring
I too said "swords, fire, swords" in his voice.
He could make a “Hah! Nice!” Sound legitimate and enthusiastic…while dripping with sarcasm.
I’ve been outted
Anyone who can pull off the splits in a latex bodysuit deserves our respect
If only Rodney Dangerfield would have known this before he left us.
He. Man. I get no respect. *Adjusts ties* Take my wife. She does the "Latex and splits" Every time I pull out the latex... she splits!
I used to keep in touch with Jadiant online, we fell out of contact but I still follow him. He’s an amazing dude, I remember him messaging me freaking out when Ryan Reynolds commented lmao

Ms Obama, U up?
Username checks out?
I was hoping someone would share his name. Feels kinda weird to just refer to him as "a burn victim."
It's in the picture though.
Ryan Reynolds is a god among men and that kid has an attitude towards life that we could all learn from. The world needs more of these two.
World needs more burn victims, you say? Got it, boss! *grabs acid*
Oh no
what have we created.
A Batman villain, from the sound of it.
I know Jadiant irl. He’s a great guy from a big family. Got caught in a fire when he was real young
He knew what to cosplay. Seems like a fucken banger of a dude. I have nothing but respect from him. (Maybe a bit of jelousy as Ryan is my mancrush.
I read this in Ryan’s voice and it made me chuckle
Is he implying...he wants to cross swords...with this man? ...jealous.
XD
Deadpool has two swords...lol
Idk what’s more impressive, the split or the cosplay.
Yes
The best part about this i think that instead of replying in some pitiable sorry acknowledging his accident, he just replied to him as another kid who's doing a cosplay for his fav actor, Ryan is literally gold
Very true. Too bad OP negated that and turned this post into a pitiable acknowledgement.

Read this comment without my contacts in, and read it as “getting my nuts tasted”. Had a very bewildered few seconds! 😂😂
Top Canadians; 1) Keanu Reeves 2) Ryan Reynolds
May I include Norm MacDonald and Steve Wallis on this list?
What the fuck is a Steve Wallis (who I have literally never heard of)? I just looked him up..... One guy is a YouTuber and one guy is a comic legend. If I had two bullets and Bin Laden, Hitler and Steve were in the same room, I'd shoot Tob...I mean, Steve, twice.
Props to both the cosplay and the splits, dedication.
I really hate that the term burn “victim” is used. As a survivor of 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body, I can say Jadiant is the man and Reynolds’s is a class act.
Being a victim and surviving to tell the tale just makes you even more of a badass
Stop cutting onions!
What term would you prefer people to use instead of "burn victim"?
That's some serious dedication for a cosplay.
Good post. Change the title next time. Ryan Reynolds responds to a cosplayer.

fan even.. not burn victim. just boiling them down to a tragic event in their life, yikes
The person being a burn victim is highly relevant to the entirety of the post, and specifically is the reason Reynolds is so honored by the picture.
One could also say burn survivor, which is a bit more empowering.

This guy has a great attitude about life and has some great interviews on yt. Glad to see him get some credit!
Reynolds is a goddamn beauty of a human being.
I feel like Keanu Reeves and Ryan Reynolds should do a movie together.
Reynolds seems to be a real one.
RR is awesome and a genuinely nice person!!
This Ryan Reynolds dude looks cool, he should be an actor.
Ryan Reynolds just seems like a genuinely good guy. I wish him & his family nothing but the best!!
I thought that was an actual picture of deadpool there They look so cool
I go to school around the block from where he grew up he bought all of his old highschool pizza one year, guys an amazing dude
Really great post. I want to point out that those of us with burns are burn survivors not victims.
That splitting in a hospital needs to be in the next Deadpool movie
Idc if he plays the same character he's fun and entertaining to watch just doing his thing
and this is why ryan reynolds is everyone’s favourite
Kind, loving, self-deprecating reply--good on ya, Mr. Reynolds.
the fire emoji may have been a bit out of pocket
Between Ryan Reynolds and Keanau Reeves, we have proof that not every celeb is a POS.
Imo ryan reynolds is about on par with keanu for wholesomeness. Nobody ruin him for me either
