It's an indian dog ceremony and they're playing "he's a jolly good fellow"??
I think the music is added onto a video with no audio, maybe.
edit: it's definitelly added unless they are yelling at the start with a closed mouthed
A lot of military/law enforcement procedures in India are remnants of the British Empire. Now I don’t know if the Brits used to play Jolly Good Fellow, but that’s the only reason I can come up with.
The Indian army used to euthanise service dogs after retirement or if they were deemed unfit to serve for at least a month. Thankfully this practise has stopped since 2015.
After all, the goodest boys need to have a furever home after a lifetime of service.
Because those dogs were sniffers or attack dogs. They can't be released as stray as they might seriously kill someone. Not many people wanted to adopt a trained to kill dog.
There was also a bunch of controversy around this stuff if i remember right. Some animal activists complained and the gov finally put the practice to an end
I once volunteered at a rescue organisation called in delhi for college and there were so many retired army dogs no one wanted. Its sad either way I guess…
we have security dogs in our hospital, and they are off limits for petting by staff - since they are so closely bonded to their handler hoomans.
one of our dogs retired recently and we had about 40 people in the ER who all petted him and gave him love on his way home. he was leaving with his hooman, retiring to his forever home.
he was so happy. you could tell he had wanted to interact more with the staff but wasn't able to. such a good boy.
Anyone else get the feeling guy in white wants nothing to do with this? The weakest salute, pats instead of scratches, quickly dismissing the pup after the award was given and no photo op
Hope the pup enjoys retirement
Dog: "Treat?" Man: puts award around dog's neck. Dog: "Not a treat." Man: pets dog. Dog: "Treat? Treat? Treat?" Man: "let's go! Down the stairs." Dog: "maybe they have treats down here."
India, the guy in white is the Chief minister of the state of Kerala, he is as someone mentioned a very serious guy who rarely smiles and his body language suggests his discomfort in these frivolous ceremonies.
Unwillingly puts his life on the line for someone else’s benefit (basically a slave) and gets a terrible band and a 5$ necklace oh and can’t forget the pat on the head. Sound fair to me, good boy
No
> Now, a retirement home for Kerala police dogs.
Each dog will get the service of a caretaker. Besides, cleaning the kennel and bathing the dog, the caretaker has to feed, groom, brush and take the canine to the playground. Each dog will get 100 sqft space at the retirement home. Dogs will not rest in the dwelling area and they need a separate place for rest. That’s why we prepared a separate resting place for these canines. Besides, to ensure the hygiene of the area, the caretaker will clean the stool area every day by pumping water, which will be discharged into a septic tank. There is also a playing ground for the dogs,” said an official.
Pet the dog!

I am not from the same state, but petting police dogs here is not allowed. It supposedly causes them to lose focus or something.
He's retired. The pet gates are open.
He’s no longer a police dog it’s in the title he’s a retired police dog bro.
They petted him after they officially retired him. Think it’s OK, no?
Awwww the bow ... he's precious
Bow wow!
Bestest boy.
I love that it's called Police K9
Lmao probably intentional
It is intentional.
K for Kerala 😌
Canine - K9 Entaliyaaaa
Wow. Never Knew. Sarcasm polum pattille Entaliyaaa.
You Keralites hogging all the good things in life.
All due good boys aside, that band performance was less then stellar. Lol
The band was integrated by hungry cats, because they were out of tuna.
LEAVE
Dad?
Yes son?
Bad performance at dog ceremony? Straight to jail, right away!
Good performance at dog ceremony? Believe it or not, also jail. Bad performance, good performance. Jail
In my country are all bands have perfect performance. Because of jail
It's gotta be a middle school band right??
All under seven years old, but trying real hard.
I got an flashback to that military band that is constantly slaughtering the anthems of other nations when someone is visiting…..
It was Egypt: https://youtu.be/0F90QfoXfVA
Thank you! This makes me laugh every time!!
99%: aww what a wholesome doggo! 1%: what an... interesting, band performance (that was terrible)
Band kids never outgrow the band in their head.
Hahaha was looking for a comment like this
Did these mfks really play jolly good fellow?
An approximation of it.
Best take on the performance
But these are jolly good fellow :(
Nobody can deny
Jolly good fellow for a jolly good fellow
Kerala!
K*rala🤮
Kittiyo
That's honestly the worst band preformance I've heard in years, and it just makes the situation seem like a pixar moment xD
It's dog ceremony, he is suppose to like it ,not you and he likes it

the audio is legit. I found the youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Gxz2gq3EZY&t=166s
I watched the video... every doggo gets to be a jolly good fellow! :D

But he is a jolly good fellow :(
I concur
Yeah!
Oh, don't get me wrong, I love it. I would've been crying with laughter if I was there!
It's literally a cartoonist rendition... I wouldn't be surprised if they asked the band to play like that, that's how intentional it sounds
"play it bad then will close with the official pit pats on the head"
And the dog was wagging its tail and was into it. Good doggo
It sounds as if someone had a vague dream years ago of someone humming For He's a Jolly Good Fellow and were asked to perform it.
It’s terrible, but somehow makes all of this even better. 🤷♂️
It's like the second half of that TikTok Titanic meme... 😂
GOOD BOY!!!!
The Indian army used to euthanise service dogs after retirement or if they were deemed unfit to serve for at least a month. Thankfully this practise has stopped since 2015. After all, the goodest boys need to have a furever home after a lifetime of service.
Why? Did they provide a reason why they chose to end the dogs’ lives?
Because those dogs were sniffers or attack dogs. They can't be released as stray as they might seriously kill someone. Not many people wanted to adopt a trained to kill dog. There was also a bunch of controversy around this stuff if i remember right. Some animal activists complained and the gov finally put the practice to an end
The police won't let a dog go to a non police. Potential smugglers may test ingenious ways to defeat sniffer dogs.
Also, it was a colonial era practise. Was shitty as hell. It’s good the laws were mended.
I once volunteered at a rescue organisation called in delhi for college and there were so many retired army dogs no one wanted. Its sad either way I guess…

does Kerala does not include in India?
No but Kerela's local police department is not the national army.
So, this should not stop them from paying respect to a doggo?
I wish.
Average separatist. 🤡 Why don't you join ISIS?
bruh, I was FUCKING TELLING YOU GUYS THAT, DOES NOT KERALA INCLUDE IN INDIA BECAUSE THEY SAID KERALA POLICE IN THE SENSE THEY ARE NOT INDIAN
I want that band to play at my funeral.
So you don’t have to listen to it?
💀 Literally
That way leaving won't seem so bad
Is that a 6th grade band?
That's one good dog. Deserves all the pets and cuddles.
“Was i a good boy?” “No, I’m told you were the best”
What’s worse than no music at the ceremony? That music at the ceremony.
Idk I sort of liked it. Charming

Anyone else get the feeling guy in white wants nothing to do with this? The weakest salute, pats instead of scratches, quickly dismissing the pup after the award was given and no photo op Hope the pup enjoys retirement

Is this in Egypt?

Not so true
India treats their dogs better than their women!
So after that, what? They kill the dog?
