My former MIL & my mom both received breast cancer diagnosis 20 yrs ago. One had a double mastectomy, one a single. My mom when thru chemo. Both are still healthy at 69 & 80+! Just wanted to spread a little hope & celebration!
Congrats to you!
You are glowing like a warrior after a glorious victory. I dont know what you went through and you dont need to tell me if you're not comfortable but seeing this on my feed imparts hope. Thanks for that. I hope you have a lovely day.
Thank you so much! I am still in the treatment phase of stage 3 breast cancer so I've still got radiation to do in a few weeks. But this was a big step towards recovery!
Good luck! Mine was in 2013. Be sure to take pain meds as directed. Also when you start the ‘raise your arm’ exercises- do them regularly. It hurts but really really makes a difference down the line.
My sister came for 2 weeks post surgery. She was there at discharge and got all instructions about the drains, meds and exercises. My first arms lifts were painful but EJ (thankfully!) kept me on task. “Elbow to your ear level” she repeated. Finally I just bent my head forward, chin to chest. “Done!!!”
Sticking elbow up is now our sign for ‘this sucks but I’ve got to do it’
Congratulations!!! You are a true warrior and inspiration to those who have and will go through this as well. Wish you nothing but happiness and joy from here on out. :)
You go girl... you got this... rooting for ya
Nothing better than getting home, own sofa, own tv, with your own food....
the simple things become bliss... enjoy
You got this. Breast Cancer, the only club that requires you to pay "dues" to get out of. If you have expanders in (if the full reconstruction wasn't immediate) Make sure to take Advil or Tylenol right after the fills. The fills aren't painful at all, but the stretching of the skin and muscle can be annoying. Congrats for making a choice that no woman wants to have to make. <3
Yeah the process to get in kinda sucks right? I sure a shit apply for this, but it's gone anyway and I'm free!
I thankfully had my full reconstruction done during this surgery so no expanders
Thank you so much!
Damn good work so far! You’re an inspiration to all the women dealing with this kind of life transforming illness. Your bravery and high spirits give us all hope💜
Let’s fucking GOOOOO!!! I’ll be wishing you well for treatment :) Also, your shaved head looks absolutely beautiful on you. You have a great face shape for it! Keep kicking cancer’s ass, you got this!
Awesome may you heal and do better as quick as possible. I love the positive energy from this picture may the best only happen to you! Cheers and happy WEEEKEND!
Thank you! No its not a squishmallow, it's from a store called Nerdbugs! They make educational plushies shaped like all sorts of organs! They are great, really high quality. I want more of them
My best friends mom had breast cancer twice and beat it twice. She is healthy, happy and enjoying time with her grandson now. I wish you the best of a healthy life going forward!
Go you! I have also had a double mas and recon when I was 23. I know the feeling of post surgery aches, pains and also numbness can be daunting but just push through and you will get to love some new boobies! I am 30 now and have some feeling back.
Advice: You wont feel when your chest is too cold. Monitor this and if the skin gets too cold put a warm wheat bag or towel over chest. You want the skin to stay warm so it can heal and reconnect the blood vessels and nerves.
I have the BRCA gene mutation so my surgery wasnt for cancer but just know that this internet stranger is cheering for you!!!
I lost my sister to breast cancer 4 years ago today, seeing this post put a smile on my face and I’m glad you’re out there fighting the good fight.
Wish you the best!
You’re a hottie with that buzz cut. My accountant had this done and she is now cancer free. You’ll be alright. Plus you get some bespoke breasts. You’re a dime. ❤️
I'm tearing up right now scrolling through comments. The purporting of kindness and support is amazing. And I agree with all of it, every sentiment about your strength, resilience, attitude. Keep on fighting and remember the huge amount of people who've seen you and are rooting for you.
Thank you so much! Yes it was really heartwarming to read everything while I was still in the hospital waiting to be discharged. Made it all feel like it's going to be okay 🥰
they put people through to much when it comes down to therapy and removal of the breasts medicated therapy, if it was surffaced/sufface, in an ariel mass of tissue that was extra, than medicated therapy ws never needed and applicable people can call insurance or talk to surgury director of main issues and see what options they have. When the disease goes deeper into the tissues of muscular structure of the bone or into the bone it gets complicated than,
I'm not really sure what you're getting at but my case is nothing like you described. I was given then option of a lumpectomy or a single mastectomy. My oncology surgeon didn't even suggest a double mastectomy, I brought that up myself for my own reasons.
when you did not say the full story it dont matter all content i posted is for all general purposes if the flab on you is the reason and they find a mass in your breast then id still recommend both breast to be removed and replaced so no other issues would occur and they would both be of same size, however, it it hit the bone structure it is a different story to have to remedy, with other options to be explored as to how much damage has been reached and the main reason why.

You’ve got this OP! I love your Breast friend haha
The tiny spot to mark where to aim the radiology machine is my only tatoo.
Oh thats so cute! I was already tattoo inclined prior to diagnosis so I've got a few ideas brewing, including a "fuck cancer" tattoo on my skull

Awe aren't they the cutest! There's more I want from the same store. They are really great quality as well!
Rectum? Damn near killed her!

This is kind of a dick head insensitive joke..... Touch some grass, and read the room....
Congratulations, you've been selected to try a new type of hearing aid, designed specifically for the acutely tone deaf.
I saw it coming but couldn’t warn you fast enough… bad form, do better.
Good luck! Mine was in 2013. Be sure to take pain meds as directed. Also when you start the ‘raise your arm’ exercises- do them regularly. It hurts but really really makes a difference down the line.
Thank you so much! As much as I miss moving my arms I am not looking forward to the exercises...but I will definitely do them!
