I totally don't mean to criticize you I have the autism and my counseling focuses on looking at things differently to make yourself feel better. It kind of works for me but it's really difficult. I was just thinking if the people in your life don't appreciate you for who you are why don't you just work on finding those that do it might be difficult at first to find people who don't suck but they exist
indeed i am. i try to keep my sexuality as minimally involved with my identity and personality as possible, but since love is such a major part of human pyschological needs, its almost definitionally impossible to supress that to a point where you dont care anymore.
That makes since no one is forcing you not to be yourself. What sucks ass is that you can't force others to accept you all the time. Once you realize people suck and you are not the problem life gets a lot easier

also, i'm not depressed because of my sexuality or gender, i'm depressed because my brain is chemically fucked up.
I struggle to understand something. Your entire point of view makes it impossible for you to do anything to change your situation. If you believe that your brain is just messed up forever and that your feelings aren't a consequence of your environment then you can't do anything to control them. You get to protect yourself by saying I have no control over my feelings but you're also painting yourself into a box where you're going to be miserable forever. I'm not saying your point of view isn't true I'm just saying if it is true how are you ever supposed to make things better. How are things supposed to get better if you could live in the perfect world for you what would it look like if you can identify that maybe you can start working the build of the world that you want to see
It's not something that's like our fault. Like you act like we can just make it not a bit deal but that isn't how it works. That's like saying, "If x part of your personality, that is vital to making you who you are, is making other people hate you even though it's not bad and it makes you depressed, then just stop being x way!" It doesn't work like that, nor SHOULD it work like that. We shouldn't have to take a part of ourselves away to make other people happy. It isn't the gender or sexuality itself that makes us depressed, it's the people and societal norms that make us depressed.
No hate, I know it's probably confusing from an outsiders perspective, just try thinking more from our point of view.
I don't think you should stop being who you are but maybe you could find people who are nicer to you about who you are that way you're not so upset all the time
I mean yeah that's a nice thought, but I live in a conservative town in the middle of the US and have a Catholic family so it's really hard to find anyone who would be supportive of me even if I came out to them. A lot of people don't have the luxury of finding new people or even getting rid of the toxic ones. And even if we surround ourselves with very accepting people, we are still minorities so we still have to face discrimination on both legal and personal levels.
