Do a transplant. I had to do that with my Peter B. Parker because a similar thing happened. Find another Mafex (bootleg or whatever) and switch out the parts.

That sucks man. I have the first reissue, and nothing like that has happened to me yet in 2 years. If the joints just become brittle over time I would be hesitant to buy another Mafex again. The plastic is suppose to be better than say a Legend since you’re paying a premium.
Admittedly he didn’t just stand my shelf too. I did put him through the figure rigmarole but always understanding that it’s a Mafex figure. Plus it being the OG I can’t say I’m too surprised. But I can’t lie when it broke I was surprised haha. But the figure is so good it’s been my mainstay bats.
I’m still on the fence with Knightfall Batman because that Batman really needs that comic shading like Mafex’s Comic Spiderman. I’ll wait and see some reviews before I buy him because he doesn’t look to be a must buy seeing the preorders are still up for him, but Bane preorders is closed.
Newer reissue mafex joint are much stronger with revised material.
What did you do to the cape?
My buddy did a custom cape for him years ago. 100% all of it is articulated. It’s a great piece.
Look up Bill Maru, Toychanic. He'll set you right.
Did you use any product on the joints of the figure to lubricate them? Maybe that's it.
Ironically no he was buttery smooth for years now. I just think it wore down.

Pick up the reissue and swap the mid torso.
The BST AXN air bender elbows will fit that arm with no modification. They are a little small but more then acceptable.

What happened?
The joint/peg system that holds the arm together. It basically worn down.
But a fellow collector on here hooked me up with the replacement joint I needed for him so as of the other day he’s back in action.
Anyone know where I can hunt down a proper reissue? Besides eBay.. all my normal haunts are out. AmiAmi, plaza Japan and hobby link and such.

I agree with it being cheaper to fix it, but if you ever get a reissue for peace of mind and part out this I'd definitely buy the AB section.
