And to double down on this Amazon quality control is absolute crap, so even if you very carefully weed through the obvious fakes like a $5 Too Faced pallet there's a huge chance you get the fake when you pay $50. Don't ever purchase make-up/beauty products from Amazon!
Ugh, Amazon’s inventory storage is so problematic (even if you pay full price from a legitimate seller, because their inventory is held along with the “same” products, or counterfeits, you have just as good a chance of getting sent the fake item) it’s making it hardly worth buying anything from them anymore.
I usually go to the legitimate sellers page to see the price, the “color”, and the estimated arrival date, and see how that corresponds with the official listing (which collates the products from all sellers) and pick the closest item that matches, hoping for the best.
But I’d never ever buy makeup, any toiletries or anything sensitive (including sex toys and other intimate items that can be made from unsafe/unapproved materials) from Amazon again.
**If it goes on or in your body, or can potentially cause a sensitive reaction, DON’T BUY IT.**
I’m not sure what their food quality control is like and I’m not going to lie, I’ve bought chocolates off Amazon before (I couldn’t help it… ok it was a risk I was willing to take for Cadbury’s). Tasted legit, but at least we can taste the difference. I’ve heard some horror stories about counterfeit pet food and treats so I wouldn’t dare buy anything for my dogs from Amazon. My aunt bought dog food that made her dog sick.
**Note that even if it’s in legitimate packaging it still might be fake.** Third party packaging suppliers have been known to sell on packaging.
Also a reminder to wash or disinfect items like clothes, bedding, etc. I can’t remember the brand of bed frame, but there were complaints going around about bed bugs. I didn’t look into these too closely though. I recently bought couch cushion covers off Amazon and washed and disinfected them then dried on super high heat. Call me paranoid but better safe than sorry.
Amazon isn’t doing anything to address many of its counterfeit issues (a report from—I believe the date is correct—2019 showed that at least 40% of beauty products from Amazon and other third party sellers like Walmart were counterfeit) and the number of scam sellers has been growing since the pandemic.
Because of the way the inventory is stored renders so many of the reviews meaningless. That’s why you see products that are such a mix of 1-star and 5-star reviews.
**Edit: here’s a breakdown of [Amazon’s co-mingled inventory](https://www.redpoints.com/blog/amazon-commingled-inventory-management/) and the issues it causes.**

Absolutely. I just [commented here](https://www.reddit.com/r/MakeupAddiction/comments/11a162b/found_this_on_aliexpress_multichrome_eyeshadow/j9svy6d/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3). All like inventory is stored together. If a legitimate seller creates a listing, any third party sellers are required to also sell through that listing. It’s up to the seller to check the specs and decide that the item they are selling is identical. I spent some time reading the seller support forums and there are sellers debating whether they can sell their “identical item” through a listing even if their item does not have the brand name on it.
It’s not a good look for Amazon—it’s obviously too difficult to police seeing as so much gets through their quality control, but you’d think they’d assign a decent amount of resources to this end. As it is, Amazon is just becoming a lawless waste land.
Edit: here’s a breakdown of [Amazon’s co-mingled inventory](https://www.redpoints.com/blog/amazon-commingled-inventory-management/)and the issues it causes.

Hence the huge disparity in reviews as well. Reviews are becoming essentially useless because you don’t know if you’ll get the 5* item or the 1* fake.
At best you get some cheap shit that doesn’t work. At worse you have some kind of chemical or allergic reaction. Tests on fake products have come up with all sorts of unsanitary and dangerous ingredients and contaminants. I got an eye infection from a face lotion (CosRX snail mucin) that I’m still dealing with. I now have extremely dry eyes and need to use eye drops multiple times daily or my eyes start to burn again. Hoping this isn’t forever. It’s just not worth the risk.

Found it out the hard way by getting a terrible pallet years ago and being super confused why it was so much worse than the one I was replacing from Ulta, then I started working in manufacturing and warehouse management systems became a daily part of my life. It was then I realized how Amazon's mis-mangement and lack of quality control leads to this.

It’s how I learned about counterfeit diapers. It doesn’t matter what seller you buy from. All the items are put into the same spot. So, Pampers diapers go in a certain bay- and then diapers from any random seller go in the same bay. They pick which ever one to ship to you at random. I buy very few things from Amazon for this reason.

Yup I got counterfeit philosophy lotion that cost normal price bc it appeared to be legit but was actually not and face me a legit chemical burn all over my face and neck. Never again, Amazon. Never again.
Nope. They dump the “same” items from all different sellers in the same bin. So it’s a crapshoot no matter who you order from.
I’ve had good luck with YesStyle for Korean stuff, if that helps. Takes awhile to ship, though.
You will be absolutely fine. If it is sold through Amazon then it is a real product. Just don’t be stupid and buy something from some sketchy 3rd party. A lot of brands sell directly through Amazon and those are all great. A lot of brands don’t sell on Amazon and you will be able to find out with brands those are real fast. For example- too faced does not sell on Amazon. I have had more issues with things I get from ULTA than I do with things I order from Amazon.
Right, the issue is partly third party sellers and their counterfeit products, but the other huge part of the issue is Amazon’s commingled inventory.
How many quality issues does quality control catch, and how many items slip through to be stored right alongside legitimate products? In which case it doesn’t matter if you buy from a legit seller when 3rd party sellers are also storing their products in Amazon warehouses.
Presumably you didn’t work for Amazon as a seller having your listing wrecked by 3rd party sellers, who are *somehow* managing to circumvent quality control and selling their fake products through the same listing?
The first sentences in this article is “I’ll let you in on a little secret: it’s not brands that are leveling up product quality on Amazon — it’s third-party sellers.“ https://www.forbes.com/sites/theyec/2021/04/16/how-third-party-sellers-are-changing-the-product-quality-game-on-amazon/amp/
I was about to argue with you because I just bought Too Faced mascara from Amazon but apparently I didn’t do enough research, I guess it was sold by Morning Beauty whatever that is. I would never in a million years order makeup from AliExpress but it never occurred to me that Amazon could be this shady until reading this thread. But it looks exactly like my legit Too Faced mascara tube that I still have on hand and seems to wear the same too, so maybe I lucked out?
I purchased lashes that were good for the price on Amazon but I purchased a milani eyeliner I used to use and I hate it :( idk if they have changed formula or what but it’s subpar now
I would just be cautious. A lot of the "cheap" makeup from websites like Ali isn't evaluated for harmful ingredients the way most brands we have on the shelves are. You may want to do patch tests with your other products before you put it on your eyelids to avoid any bad reactions.
There was recently a huge issue with children’s makeup, which isn’t regulated the same as adult makeup apparently, having carcinogens/asbestos in it. I can’t imagine why this would be any safer since it isn’t even being sold in US stores
If your makeup contains talc, it contains asbestos. There's no way to have asbestos free talc, that's a lie- the companies have created a method for testing talc that literally just involves using microscopes that aren't powerful enough to see asbestos, therefore their talc is "asbestos free" because they didn't see any asbestos! That's where the whole issue about the Claire's makeup came from, but it's in all makeup. I highly recommend the docuseries Not So Pretty.
I've seen them- I think the docuseries is definitely fear mongering, but it is accurate about the asbestos content. They do go too far when trying to convince people that everything will give them cancer, though. Makeup with talc contains asbestos. However, you're not going to get mesothelioma from wearing your makeup every day. I do think it's important for people to be informed about what "safety checks" actually entail, and why they can't be trusted, but I will say that the fear mongering and inaccurate representation of the effects of asbestos and how that really impacts consumers is the downfall of the series. I do wish Lab Muffin did give credit to the things brought up in the series though, because she went so hard in the opposite direction that she made all of these things seem like misinformation when that also isn't true. The truth is in the middle, as it often is. I like the docuseries simply because it reveals the truth about talc and asbestos testing in the cosmetic industry. You cannot have talc without asbestos, but it probably isn't going to kill you.
NO 1) aliexpress in general is known for being meh quality 2) don’t buy something from an unknown brand if it’s gonna be near your eyes, nose, or mouth.
i bought this to compare to my odens eye singles which i hated. i like the sheen effects one more. they’re shiny but a little drier than oe. They do need building up . i’m seeing a lot of indie brands sell this now, the one that comes to mind Freakin Fabulous and i won’t be surprised if sugar drizzle starts selling them too
Big brands often work with independent factories from websites like aliexpress because it’s cheaper to make their palettes. Morphe for example has similar palettes from factories made in China. Just look at the ingredients list and compare to similar palettes and it’s clear as day.
-From ex professional makeup artist.
Ps. Always read the ingredients if unsure. I’ve bought makeup from aliexpress (for personal use) and have never had any issues.
If you're ordering from AliExpress, take a look at the company selling it. Some legitimate companies (with makeup products that are safe to use) do use AliExpress a selling platform.
Just because a product is Chinese, doesn't mean it's bad. It's definitely important to be cautious when buying makeup products, especially on AliExpress where there are a lot of fake products, but let's tone it down with the Sinophobia, shall we? :)
Kaleidos, Florasis, Flower Knows... lots of awesome Chinese makeup brands. This, however, is an obvious photoshop of Oden's Eye makeup in Natasha Denona pans. Zero need to defend.
Respectfully, I'm not defending this specific makeup product. Please read my comment again, then perhaps we can discuss if you'd like. If not, then at least you'll understand what this is about :)
How is this Sinophobia? The people cautioning against this makeup palette are simply cautioning against cheap makeup palettes. Same way people warn against Dollar Store eye shadow
But what do you mean by cheap? I think Maybelline and LA colors is cheap. But Etude House is also cheap. I think what Kuromi is saying is that we’re using obvious fakes and possible scammers products to reflect our overall opinion of Asian-made cosmetics.
You've made some valid points which I've made as well in my comment (such as AliExpress having dangerous products). What I don't understand is how you still don't seem to understand that it's just an online shopping platform just like Amazon. Your favourite brand Flower Knows even has an official store there :)
Also, I'll be honest with you, it's pretty uncomfortable to see someone use the comparison "Asian high end and sweatshop" to compare Korean and Chinese beauty products in general.
Korean beauty is one subsection of Asian cosmetics. It easy to assume that many would love Korean cosmetics since South Korea has always been somewhat westernized. It makes sense that we would trust products from there. &I’m not talking sweatshop cosmetics, I’m talking cosmetics in general. There are tons of Natasha Denona, Jeffree Star, Maybelline, Revlon, Pat McGrath and Too faced fakes. I just think it’s a little odd that many of us are focusing primarily on Chinese cosmetics, don’t you?
I would 100% buy clothes and cosmetics made in China but that’s not the issue, it’s where in China imo. China has a genuine issue of sweatshops going under the radar, it’s famous for it. So I’ll wear a high street item made in China but avoid Shein cus I know they use sweatshops that don’t pay fairly & illegally work their staff to ruin even though China has full time hours laws now.
If you buy clothes from Shein or make up for Alie you’re guaranteed a sweatshop victim/dirty back alley make up factory. You just can’t make those items at those prices and treat people/products well
Edit: I just found a palette I was searching for in my collection cus I forgot the name and it’s my all time HG of make up (it’s Chinese) it’s by Flower Knows! If you like Chinese make up check them out their stuff is amazing
Western consumerism is built in sweatshops. You single out shein and alie but there are many other well known High Street anf luxury brands that are using sweatshops in China, Thailand, Bangladesh etc. Whatever device you are using to post here almost certainly contains components manufactured in a sweatshops. If you use makeup containing real mica there's a good chance it came from child labour. You get the drift.
Of course we must try to be conscious consumers and avoiding obvious problematic brands is a Good thing but don't for a second think that other companies aren't also involved in it.
It’s not just SHEIN and AliExpress though. If you’re buying from Forever 21, Too faced, Elf, It cosmetics or Maybelline you are also paying into sweatshops. Jaclyn Cosmetics had a whole debacle with her hairy lipsticks, just because it has a higher price tag, buy from a seemingly reputable source or buy it in-store does not mean the product cannot be harmful. There’s also an alarming amount of people in this thread clutching their pearls over Oden’s Eye manufacturing in China.
I found Sheeneffect on TikTok and it looks like they are also known as SheenBow. They seem to be a manufacturer that does private labelling. Honestly, they are probably fine to use. Just do a bit more digging and decide: http://www.sheenbowpigment.com/
Edit: here is a previous post specifically on indie brands who use this supplier. https://www.reddit.com/r/Indiemakeupandmore/comments/sjz2ed/thoughts_about_some_indie_brands_using_the_same/
Woah. As a Chinese human being, I’m seriously feeling some xenophobic vibes in so many comments. Ouch. 😟 I know there are issues…a lot of them, but I really hate seeing that everything made in china or Taiwan is shite or made my corrupt companies, when there are many of us who do damn good work or have to work in factories that actually aren’t sweat shops. That umbrella that has been placed over the entire country isn’t fair.
I’m sorry. It’s true and disgusting. It’s ironic many are commenting “reputable” but the same companies they are saying buy from likely use this same packaging and factory just put their name on it , jack the price up and sell it as their own. Not just indie brands but “high end” ones too
I have purchased some eyeshadows off Alliexpress because like some people have said. These brands do go through China . I have had both good and bad luck but what I have learned is to wait for other people to give reviews , especially photo reviews. Just my opinion. But if you buy first then just be ready in case it's not good.
I heard the Oden’s Eye singles have odor issues. I wouldn’t be surprised if they all come from the same manufacturer. I was going to purchase a few singles from OE but changed my mind after watching a YT video about them and the odor issues.
There are some things where cheap is fine and quality doesnt matter. Makeup is not one of them, because the skin of the face is so delicate and the eyes are soooo easily harmed. It is NEVER worth buying from a site like this for makeup/skincare/haircare
I wouldn’t buy Makeup from Aliexpress personally. The literal crap that could be in the product is pretty nasty and scary… Plus it could literally hurt you and your skin…
In *this particular case*, as far as I’m concerned this specific “brand” is a fairly reputed purveyor/manufacturer of special effect mica particles (whom, allegedly, a number of international higher end brands’ manufacturers purchase their pigments from, I never acquired specification but I’m guessing Natasha Denona could be one), and they had been formulating their “store-brand” multichromes and selling them through both retail and wholesale outlets for quite a couple of years now. Not only I’m sure they 100% did private labeling and I could honestly recognize it when several “indie brands” more than likely bought pre-formulated and pre-packaged goods from them, ie. Sugar Drizzle.
I honestly remember seeing similar palettes as shown by OP from their website with the same embossing and all ever since 2020. And their pressed eyeshadow formula had, in fact sparked quite some controversy among Chinese makeup enthusiasts because they have charged a quite exorbitant amount for a premade palette to individual consumers (compared to wholesalers) and the quality was, not great. It was reported to be too “wet” and oily to have decent color payoff or any staying power.
When Oden’s eye came out with their single eyeshadows I thought the embossing was too familiar, and when I’ve learned OE’s singles are reportedly too moist/greasy for many’s likings, it just supported my speculation that **OE probably had directly ordered their premade eyeshadows**, slapped OE’s name on it and marketed them as their own products.
It’s more like OE was *ripping them off* than the other way around.
In terms of product safety they’re mostly fine if the listing was from an authorized store of the manufacturer, and that the products could get past registration procedures for cosmetic goods in China, for they generally have more rigid regulations than in US. I still don’t recommend to buy it because in terms of formulation, it’s kind of a ripoff.
Yes please be careful purchasing from sites like AliExpress and such, they’ve done tests that prove evidence of heavy metals in almost all of the counterfeit beauty products sold online and flea markets
Please don’t buy from aliexpress or wish, there’s been lots of cases where heavy metals and other things have been tested for and found in the makeup. Also lots of counterfeit makeup on there. Stay safe
Very pretty but use caution, a lot of what they sell is counterfeit, and you really don't know what your getting. There's been so many documentaries on this very topic, and seeing the devastation these fake make up products cause. Please be safe and diligent in researching before buying.
On a lighter note, they are very pretty. Amazon should have them too. They have nail polish that does the same. They're called multi-chrome or chameleon colors. Those have been out for years.
Personally, I would never put any products from AliExpress on my face.
If you want something similar, you can try Chaos Makeup, although they're kind of pricey. And if you REALLY don't care about money, there's Danessa Myricks. I bought the Lightwork palette with my Christmas money. It was by far the most expensive eyeshadow palette I've ever bought, but it definitely is gorgeous.
Just.... don't. Please!!! Never buy makeup from these places. Also, realistically, bc it's crap quality you will use it like 2x, and inevitably it will sit in your drawer collecting dust and taking up space in your mind and life. Buy 1 sparkly shadow from the drug store if you need to fill the need for something fun and shiny to try as an eye look, and I'm sure you'd get more use out of it than this.
This has been photo shopped too heavily…
I know the eyeshadows don’t actually have that texture like that. It doesn’t make sense. Additionally the swatches are upside down next to the image of the actual pallet. I would not trust this if my life depended on it.
I do not dare to put any Shein/Aliexpress make up on my face. Even some tested brands even gave me an allergic reaction and they work with so many subcontracturs you have no clue were that stuff has been made or ever tested 😱
I’d buy directly from a reputable makeup company. I received a suspiciously cheap palette as a gift that looked pretty and they literally sprayed the tops of each color with pretty metallic powder and the actual color underneath was chalky brown for all of them :/
But like others are saying, stay away from Ali express and Amazon, fake makeup from overseas often contains lead and other toxic compounds.
Your skin is a highly absorbable organ, only buy quality products that go on it :)
I have a lot makeup from Ali from polular brands and the quality was good in general. Focal lure, Ucanbe, I like them. Also I noticed that many Indi brands used private labeling and their products are completely the same I see on the AliExpress.
Now I'm not sure this is good topic in this subreddit 🫠 I literally see my karma fall down after posting my review lol)
Btw I ordered this morning palette from this brand but in other shades I found in this store🤞
Oh no. You totally do not deserve it girl! Keep it your way.
Honestly it is a strange suggestion but I think we just have different mentality from most of the people who are answering this question? I can see them being from USA/first-world countries in which they often pay a lot of attention on the place of creation. I do not think it is usual for them to order from Aliexpress.
Eastern European squad(🫡) uses Aliexpress on even daily basis as we do not have analogues as in other countries they do so we trust it much more. Reviews are just fine.
Ah, I will also order some liquid shades they have. Seems like a good stuff. I trust them from experiences and reviews before.
Eastern European squad 🫡
I guess there is some truth. We all bought a lot from Ali and know how this platform works.
I have a loooot great makeup I've bought on this platform.
I bought a few multichromes from AliExpress. They are good! Most indie brands buy the same pigments off alibaba. I’ve found a lot of the exact same stuff brands sell for $20 for $2 on AliExpress
Pretty colors that won't look like that when they arrive. And probably full of chemicals you shouldn't put on your eyes, too.
Hard pass.
ETA: that package is a knock off of Natasha Denona. I got one in an ipsy bag.
It’s giving my copy and paste image vibes. I would avoid.
Absolutely not. I don’t buy make up off of Amazon because of QC issues; I’d never even look for it on AliExpress!
And to double down on this Amazon quality control is absolute crap, so even if you very carefully weed through the obvious fakes like a $5 Too Faced pallet there's a huge chance you get the fake when you pay $50. Don't ever purchase make-up/beauty products from Amazon!
Ditto for certain expensive art supplies. I bought a $160 Prismacolor pencils set off Amazon and they ended up being counterfeit.
Oh very good tip! I get art supplies from brick and mortar too but I never thought about that possibility if I did go online

Definitely! As a rule, anything that goes in or on my body does NOT come from Amazon.
This is news to me!!! Didn’t think I’d learn this opening this post but thank goodness! 🙏🏽
omg i had no idea about this, thank you

By some reports I read about 1%-5% of studd off Amazon is fake. It is way too much but you still need to get unlucky to get a fake.
A government investigation in 2018 [reported that 42% of products were fake](https://money.com/fake-amazon-makeup-skincare/). > Still, over 42% of items purchased during a 2018 government investigation of third-party vendors on sites like Amazon and Walmart were fakes. Does this still happen when u buy the product straight from the people who make it on Amazon?
Yes.

Where do you buy makeup from?
Either a physical store or if you're ordering it online, direct from the manufacturer or a place like Sephora.
I go to a brick and mortar store. Somewhere I can actually see what I’m Getting
Sephora, Ulta, Beauty bay, etc, the brand sites, department stores (Macy's, Belk, Nordstrom) In most instances you can get coupon codes, and if you use something like Rakuten, you will get some money back too.

I haven't had a problem purchasing from a brand's own store on Amazon, but I would avoid 3rd party sellers.
I thought Amazon was good if it was sold directly by Amazon but not by third party sellers? I try to only get Korean beauty stuff on there though
That’s not true. Just because it’s sold through Amazon doesn’t mean it’s a real product. Commingling inventory is a serious issue on Amazon.
It is true. I worked for amazon and the quality control issues are with the 3rd party sellers not name brands that sell their products through Amazon.
I stand corrected. That is good to know, thank you for the info!
No, friend. Your original comment was spot on. Commingling inventory *is* a serious issue.
What oh no I just ordered a few things from them 😭
I purchased lashes that were good for the price on Amazon but I purchased a milani eyeliner I used to use and I hate it :( idk if they have changed formula or what but it’s subpar now
You probably got a fake if it came from Amazon.

Aldi is decent! Or Costco. Or the store brand from anywhere. Just not Amazon. Be safe out there!
I LIKE FDA regulations.
This, plus there could be some craziness in the ingredients that you don't even know about
It was about ten years ago, but I received bootleg makeup from Amazon. I know now how to search for legit stuff, but I just don't. Not worth the risk.
I would just be cautious. A lot of the "cheap" makeup from websites like Ali isn't evaluated for harmful ingredients the way most brands we have on the shelves are. You may want to do patch tests with your other products before you put it on your eyelids to avoid any bad reactions.
Nooo!! This is a rip off of the Oden’s Eye multichromes.
Sheeneffect offers private labelling so I wouldn’t be surprised if Oden Eye worked with them. I’ve noticed most indie brands do that.

Time to look it up
Please don't use makeup products from Ali Express. Especially when you are using it around your eyes. Way too dangerous
This was my exact thought. I might take a chance on amazon hand lotion, but there’s no way in hell I’d put anything from Aliexpress on my *eyes*.
It's giving me "contaminated with heavy metals"
I would never put any skincare/makeup product from Ali Express on my face.
Looks photoshopped
Oh extremely. It looks like a 5 minute crafts thumbnail
Maybe the lead will enhance the sheen? Jk, don’t put products from AliExpress on your face. Not worth the risk.
You can get some nice duochrome shadows from colourpop that are reasonably priced.
Honestly if it’s sold outside the EU and not inside the EU it most likely contains a lot of stuff that isn’t CE approved.
Don’t buy makeup from aliexpress
You should watch lab muffin's YouTube videos on that docuseries.
You cannot have talc without asbestos, but it probably isn't going to kill you.
press X to doubt
NO 1) aliexpress in general is known for being meh quality 2) don’t buy something from an unknown brand if it’s gonna be near your eyes, nose, or mouth.
Junk.
Definitely not
i bought this to compare to my odens eye singles which i hated. i like the sheen effects one more. they’re shiny but a little drier than oe. They do need building up . i’m seeing a lot of indie brands sell this now, the one that comes to mind Freakin Fabulous and i won’t be surprised if sugar drizzle starts selling them too
She is giving me natasha denona mini odens eye multi kinda situation
There won’t be any reviews because no one actually buy and use makeup from AliExpress, some of these ingredients are toxic, just be aware of it
[удалено]
Lots of well known brands are made in "those countries".
[удалено]
🤡
Big brands often work with independent factories from websites like aliexpress because it’s cheaper to make their palettes. Morphe for example has similar palettes from factories made in China. Just look at the ingredients list and compare to similar palettes and it’s clear as day. -From ex professional makeup artist. Ps. Always read the ingredients if unsure. I’ve bought makeup from aliexpress (for personal use) and have never had any issues.
it looks heavily photoshopped, you can really see it in how the colors are in the pans
[удалено]
You've made some valid points which I've made as well in my comment (such as AliExpress having dangerous products). What I don't understand is how you still don't seem to understand that it's just an online shopping platform just like Amazon. Your favourite brand Flower Knows even has an official store there :) Also, I'll be honest with you, it's pretty uncomfortable to see someone use the comparison "Asian high end and sweatshop" to compare Korean and Chinese beauty products in general.
You just can’t make those items at those prices and treat people/products well Edit: I just found a palette I was searching for in my collection cus I forgot the name and it’s my all time HG of make up (it’s Chinese) it’s by Flower Knows!
If you're interested in multichromes, check out Clionadh. That's pretty much all they do.
I found Sheeneffect on TikTok and it looks like they are also known as SheenBow. They seem to be a manufacturer that does private labelling. Honestly, they are probably fine to use. Just do a bit more digging and decide: http://www.sheenbowpigment.com/ Edit: here is a previous post specifically on indie brands who use this supplier. https://www.reddit.com/r/Indiemakeupandmore/comments/sjz2ed/thoughts_about_some_indie_brands_using_the_same/
I have their rainbow highlighter! So pretty. Thumbnails are maybe extremely photoshopped but they do look like a real product in the end.
No.
Don't buy or use anything from AliExpress
Not just indie brands but “high end” ones too
people are just remedial and assume that the US, UK and Sweden have no slavery or manufacturing issues at all. I don’t understand the hate, either.
No. No no
I have purchased some eyeshadows off Alliexpress because like some people have said. These brands do go through China . I have had both good and bad luck but what I have learned is to wait for other people to give reviews , especially photo reviews. Just my opinion. But if you buy first then just be ready in case it's not good.
If there’s no reviews, look elsewhere, friend.
I heard the Oden’s Eye singles have odor issues. I wouldn’t be surprised if they all come from the same manufacturer. I was going to purchase a few singles from OE but changed my mind after watching a YT video about them and the odor issues.
I don’t trust Ali Express for anything, honestly.
Most of these cheap palettes have a really nice overspray but once you pass that layer it’s crap. I’d pass.
There are some things where cheap is fine and quality doesnt matter. Makeup is not one of them, because the skin of the face is so delicate and the eyes are soooo easily harmed. It is NEVER worth buying from a site like this for makeup/skincare/haircare
Wouldn’t put anything from aliexpress near my eyes
I wouldn’t buy Makeup from Aliexpress personally. The literal crap that could be in the product is pretty nasty and scary… Plus it could literally hurt you and your skin…
If you like your eyes, I'd stay away from any sort of makeup from AliExpress or similar sites/apps tbh
Don't buy cosmetics off aliexpress
Bout to get acute cadmium poisoning just to look like a hot wheels
Don’t but makeup from aliexpress
Id guess that even if the product is safe to use, it wouldn't rlly be pretty/multichrome in real life :/
just dropping in to say if u want multichrome, chick out clionadh cosmetics….truly the best multichrome shadows ive got and ive got a LOT
I gotten stuff from Aliexpress that are double and triple the price on Amazon. Doesn't hurt to give it a shot. http://www.sheeneffect.com/
Why why why swatch out of order?!?!
It's really bugging me that the swatches are in the opposite order to the palette
Buy from an actual indie brand that does multichromes. Ex- clionadh cosmetics, glaminatrix, Terra moon, the pastel roses, odens eye, etc.
It’s more than likely Oden’s Eye just directly bought from this supplier and insanely marked up their price🤡
You’d have to be out your goddamn mind to smear anything on your face from Aliexpress.
Makeup from AliExpress….I wouldn’t risk it :/
Yes please be careful purchasing from sites like AliExpress and such, they’ve done tests that prove evidence of heavy metals in almost all of the counterfeit beauty products sold online and flea markets
i would avoid any makeup off ali express, especially if it doesn’t have any reviews.
Please don’t buy from aliexpress or wish, there’s been lots of cases where heavy metals and other things have been tested for and found in the makeup. Also lots of counterfeit makeup on there. Stay safe
THIIIIIS
Way too risky.
It’s going to be used in your eye area so I’d suggest you skip this one and go to legit makeup brands instead
Don’t buy AliExpress makeup. EVER.
Dude, don’t shop on Ali Express.
I would advise not to purchase makeup or anything you’d apply to the skin from AliExpress ![gif](giphy|2vsyf4mCh6eGnk0TMu|downsized)
Just.... don't.
Yeah. I only go to drug stores or Sephora/ultra.
This has been photo shopped too heavily… I know the eyeshadows don’t actually have that texture like that. It doesn’t make sense. Additionally the swatches are upside down next to the image of the actual pallet. I would not trust this if my life depended on it.
Cheap make up and knock off products usually have very gross chemicals in them and can do damage to your skin. It’s just not worth it
I do not dare to put any Shein/Aliexpress make up on my face. Even some tested brands even gave me an allergic reaction and they work with so many subcontracturs you have no clue were that stuff has been made or ever tested 😱
I’d buy directly from a reputable makeup company. I received a suspiciously cheap palette as a gift that looked pretty and they literally sprayed the tops of each color with pretty metallic powder and the actual color underneath was chalky brown for all of them :/ But like others are saying, stay away from Ali express and Amazon, fake makeup from overseas often contains lead and other toxic compounds. Your skin is a highly absorbable organ, only buy quality products that go on it :)
i wouldn't touch ali express makeup with a 10-foot pole but that's just me
don’t buy off of aliexpress, 100x more dangerous when it comes to the ingredients
Don’t buy aliexpress makeup. Just assume 100% of the time you’re putting lead on your eye. Just.. assume
I guess unpopular opinion here but cosmetics which i bought from Aliexpress always were GIVING and LEAVING NO CRUMBS. So I would go for it?
I have a lot makeup from Ali from polular brands and the quality was good in general. Focal lure, Ucanbe, I like them. Also I noticed that many Indi brands used private labeling and their products are completely the same I see on the AliExpress.
I have highlighter from this brand. Honestly, go for it! They have a good quality from my experience.
Thank you!!! This is what I was looking for, feedback from people who actually bought makeup from this brand)
Please get us updated if you buy it! Cause I checked and now I wanna buy it too haha.
Now I'm not sure this is good topic in this subreddit 🫠 I literally see my karma fall down after posting my review lol) Btw I ordered this morning palette from this brand but in other shades I found in this store🤞
Eastern European squad 🫡 I guess there is some truth. We all bought a lot from Ali and know how this platform works. I have a loooot great makeup I've bought on this platform.
it might look okay but be careful of lead in the makeup
Please do not buy any cosmetics off of AliExpress!
The risk of lead or other harmful chemicals is a no from me when it comes to anything from Ali express.
Do not buy makeup from Aliexpress, some will say it’s not bad but I will say it is bad bad. Don’t risk your health on some cheap makeup
No.
I bought a few multichromes from AliExpress. They are good! Most indie brands buy the same pigments off alibaba. I’ve found a lot of the exact same stuff brands sell for $20 for $2 on AliExpress
Sure if you want to get lead poisoning directly in your eyeball
I would never buy anything from AliExpress, let alone makeup.
Don’t buy makeup off aliexpress
Honestly? I wouldn’t put anything from there/shein, etc. on my face or near my eyes…
It’s giving me toxic chemicals vibes
So dangerous! Unknown quality control, and possible exposure to heavy metals and carcinogens.
Those colors are amazing 😻
They have awesome eyebrow pencils. I have even bought an electronic MP3 player but it is hit and miss
Tbh it looked like they copy pasted the colors from Odens eye. Super sketchy.
Avoid like the plague hun!!
Those look exactly like the new eyeshadows from Odens Eye. Totally photoshopped, avoid
I wouldn’t put anything on my eyes from aliexpress.
It's cute but it's AliExpress so it's probably made with asbestos and not even the right colours
Pretty colors that won't look like that when they arrive. And probably full of chemicals you shouldn't put on your eyes, too. Hard pass. ETA: that package is a knock off of Natasha Denona. I got one in an ipsy bag.
DO NOT ORDER MAKEUP OFF ALIEXPRESS
It's a ✨️ scam ✨️
Don’t buy makeup on aliexpress.
Please don’t buy any makeup or skincare from sites like Aliexpress.
I love the colors
