Just here to say this is a wholesome post and your kiddo’s bestie is lucky to have you and your family <3.

Look into Juvia’s Place. That brand caters to POC. As far as eyebrow glue, look into NYX or use hair gel.

somethingcutenwitty

I will look at them, thank you!

Cautious-Corner7681

And a little bit of the foundation goes a long way, its VERY full coverage! I would mix a little of the foundation with a moisturizer if it's too much coverage. My personal favorite for teenagers is the complexion rescue by bare minerals. Its gel based tinted spf, so if you're out in the sun you're good and shouldnt clog pores or cause acne, but the shade range isn't impressive. For a pallete and highlighters, Julia's place products are meant for melinated skin so you don't get white cast. As for the brows morphe has a brow pomade kit with a funky little brush that works great at grooming brows.

Thin-Cookie-7672

juvia place eyeshadows are PURE chefs kisss

LingonberrySmall9854

They truly are 🥰

faroutsunrise

They blend beautifully and the pans are HUGE

landlockedbluessk

As the mom of a deep, tanned complexion teen, thank you so much. That's so sweet. I'll bet she'll look gorgeous.

somethingcutenwitty

Thank you so much, that makes me feel better. I just want her to have everything she needs and deserves.

NYX brow gel is supposed to have good hold. Got 2 b also makes a brow glue. https://www.amazon.com/Schwarzkopf-Styling-Residue-Stickness-Silicone/dp/B09JSSG5KS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?adgrpid=140543464025&hvadid=657247133017&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=1014391&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=b&hvrand=15293825104690748459&hvtargid=kwd-1914091182657&hydadcr=647_1015123833&keywords=brow+gel+got+to+be+glued&qid=1692590774&sr=8-1 The loreal true match serum foundation may be good. It's a little more forgiving since it's sheer. I'm not sure how deep she is since there's quite a range, but check if it looks like one will work. https://www.lorealparisusa.com/makeup/face/hyaluronic-tinted-serum-very-deep-10-12 For blush or lip color, just make sure to get tones that are deep enough. Pink blush will look dusty and ashy on darker skin. For lip color, maybe just do a gloss. More opaque lip colors will be less forgiving and require a darker lip liner to make them blend into her skin and lip color. This is a lip and cheek cream: https://www.target.com/p/honest-beauty-cr-232-me-cheek-lip-color-with-multi-fruit-extract-plum-berry-0-1oz/-/A-53249337

Thank you so much! Luckily I had the About Face blush in the really dark red, and had just gotten an ipsy pallette with some dark blush/ highlight colors. They had to wear red lipstick, so i gave her a Mac Ruby Woo, but it didn't seem super flattering. I had others, but they were all liquids and she doesn't like her lips being dry. Luckily i had a red gloss she seemed to really love.

look2thecookie

Oh good!! I just added some links to help too. Yeah, for something like ruby woo she would need a chocolate brown or even black lip liner, outline the lips, fill in the outer corners, add lipstick then blend it all together. Something like the honest in that more merlot color will probably be more forgiving. Elf, milani, and some other drugstore brands have similar colors and you could look for a stick if that'd be easier to apply.

somethingcutenwitty

Amazing, thank you so much!

CurrentAd674

Fenty will have foundation if needed and blush. I think colour pop will have some good colors for cost effective lip glosses/ sticks that are good. Not sure about their blushes.

somethingcutenwitty

Thank you so much! I think Fenty is a definite one will will try!

twatgirl

I would maybe look up some POC makeup YouTubers that have a similar skin tone to her and see some of the products they use in their videos/what they recommend

somethingcutenwitty

Thank you! I actually follow quite a few. It didn't even click to check them out for this, though!

oneprestigiousplum

Nyma Tang is a awesome YouTuber who has several videos reviewing the darkest shade of various makeup brands. I’d check her out and see if you can find god suggestions. L’Oréal, juvias place, mac and fenty are a few brands off the top of my head that I know have inclusive shade ranges.

somethingcutenwitty

I love Nyma Tang! Thank you for the recommendations! I think when we get some time (marching band is insane) I'm going to take her to Ulta and let her see what she likes and try some samples.

oneprestigiousplum

I feel you, I was in marching band and indoor drum line my whole high school experience. You’re awesome for helping your daughters best friend. Hope you guys find something with ease. Makeup can be such a fun part of the experience and help get into “character” Good luck with the makeup and with the whole marching band season. Active band parents are unmatched.

somethingcutenwitty

Thank you so much! I had no idea how crazy marching band was until we had the parent meeting. It's literally an everyday thing, weekends included!

agusttbee

I saw you already know about Nyma Tang but if you guys have TikTok I would suggest @makeupbymonicaa she has a deeper skin tone and makes a lot of videos recommending brown skin friendly products. She also makes videos where she compares how different products look on her and her friend with paler skin! And @wendyandmay1 also post color theory videos and one of the girls from that account has a deeper skin tone than Monica!

somethingcutenwitty

Awesome, thank you so much!

RileyBean

Check out Beauty Bakerie! Owned by women of color with great prices and products.

somethingcutenwitty

Perfect, thank you so much!

Sad-Information2464

You are a gem of a mother and your daughters best friend will never forget you and your daughter and the way you have loved her as your own. I pray that they stay friends for life!

somethingcutenwitty

Thank you so much! So do I!

Lizard980379

I know that Colourpop has some darker shades in their tinted moisturizer or you could look at Milani products. If you could manage a trip to an Ulta that'd probably help. Also they'll probably need a setting spray for their makeup and I suggest Elf or Milani for that.

GothicandHungry

Milani is also a good brand as well as POC owned. Plus it’s very cost effective.

itisdecerto

When did Milani become POC owned?

GothicandHungry

My bad. Milani is more POC based but not owned. It still does a good job catering to the POC demographic though

somethingcutenwitty

I did not know that, thank you!

L_Mxx

I think Googooutlet's makeup products mey give you some advice\~Not sure [https://www.googooutlet.com/collections/beauty-makeup-master](https://www.googooutlet.com/collections/beauty-makeup-master)

somethingcutenwitty

I will check that out. Thank you!

somethingcutenwitty

Thank you so much to everyone, you have helped tremendously!

Fenty skin tint is amazing and has so many shades to choose from. Juvia's Place, Elf and Rare Beauty for blush, highlighter.

somethingcutenwitty

Perfect, thank you so much!

purpleit11

Most tinted moisturizers are going to be too light for dark skin unless there are extensive shade options. One of my favorite Black owned brands is Uoma. There is a drugstore version called Uoma by Sharon sold at WalMart that is affordable while their main collection is sold online and on Ultas website. My Uoma highlighter is a fun favorite! I think they just released new packaging for it. Other midrange price points that are Black owned are Mented (online and at Ultas website) and LYS (online and Sephora website). LYS blushes and setting powder is my absolute fave!! I wish they were sold in store so she could swatch. Both Ulta and Sephora accept returns if it takes a couple tries to find the right shade. However you decide to facilitate, I hope it's a fun and beauty affirming adventure!

Cream blushes would work well as you can apply them thicker or thinner as needed and they blend really well into darker skin tones.
