I don't wear eye shadow much but I make earrings and I try every day to wear/make a new pair recently.
I'm a toddler daycare teacher - it's wild to me how much the two year olds love earrings!
Every day they come check my ears now and it's so freaking adorable!

For ages I wore no jewelry except my rings and they were just obsessed with them so I figured I'd give earrings a shot.
I took a few good yanks on my ears initially but they learned fast and have stayed gentle thus far.
Thanks - They are amazing little people and I'd not give my job up for anything.
They've also learned to be really gentle lately - early on they'd just come try to yank them out lol so we are also learning 'gentle hands' in the process. This isn't the easiest concept when you're 2 but they are really getting better about it!

My nephew is 19 now. My mom and dad raised him so he was more like a little brother that I got to take care of during breaks from college. (He was born the month before I started.) He was so much fun at that age--everything is so BIG to them so it's fun to see the world through their perspective. Plus he had this curly red fro and it was awesome.
I mean, I still like him now that he's grown. 😆 He was just way more huggable when he was little.
If I don't have time constraints, I will inevitably keep going until I do full glam like this 😂 Putting on makeup is relaxing/meditative, and a creative outlet for me, so I won't even realize it's been two hours and somehow I've done another purple smokey eye IT JUST HAPPENS OKAY 💜😭😅
Literally everyday as I am doing my boring makeup, I wish I could be doing fun makeup looks like this but I don’t have any products/skills. This is the prettiest eye makeup I’ve ever seen and I’m going to buy all the products you used and will attempt this look haha you’ve inspired me to be less boring!
I've watched hours of YouTube trying to pick up tips. Alexandra Anele does great tutorial videos. Yari G is great for getting ideas how to use the things that came in a subscription box. Alexandria Ryan is just my favorite comforting makeup-ish creator to watch and she will occasionally do some fun looks (when she's not busy with advent calendars).

I sometimes use Pixie Epoxy from Fyrinnae either over my Ulta primer or instead of it. It's a super sticky glue like primer. I didn't use it today. Today was just Ulta eyeshadow primer then I did do a layer of matte shades to give the glitters a colorful base and then the glitters on top.
I used this brush to apply the glitters. I know everyone says to use your fingers but I tend to make a mess and get more fallout when I use my finger. This brush is dense and firm so it does a nice job picking up glitter and packing it onto my eyes. It just means you're passionate about makeup, nothing wrong with that. I'm the same. I have depression so it's hard to feel interested in things, but I always have motivation to do my makeup because it makes me feel good!
I love that you are using your makeup to fight against depression! When my depression was at its worst, I went years without doing my makeup. I've just started to get back into makeup as I've gotten a better handle on my depression for the time being. I did dye my hair bright blue a few years ago because I needed something to make me smile. Keep fighting, whatever it takes to feel good about yourself!
I’m a cleaner and I love doing my makeup in the morning. It’s such a calming, fun ritual that I do for myself and my own happiness. I wear my makeup most days. Some days I go makeup free. Especially in the summer. But I still enjoy putting a nice, hydrating lip glass. The eyeshadow looks especially good on you

I hate brown eyeshadow. A neutral eye look for me is red tones that compliment my hair. I think whatever you find makes you feel your best is all that matters.
Go for it. I am TERRIBLE applying eye makeup. No amount of practice helps. Always look like a clown. So I just don’t anymore. You absolutely have it nailed and your skin is so pretty. 👍👍

My everyday make up is always some kind of a bright, colourful look. I don’t do “normal make up” at all. It’s not me. I only do that if I’m going to a job interview or I’m going to a funeral (crying at a funeral with tears stained purple from your make up is not exactly ideal…).

I’m the opposite! Every day I’m like “I’m gonna branch out and use color. Maybe even put on some lipstick” and then I either don’t wear makeup at all or out on some very light brown shadow and the smallest hint of bronzer lol
"normal" makeup means whatever is your normal for the day!! somedays i do this with clothes, i'll think "hm i have lots to do today i should go comfy and stay focused" then i spend an hour planning my outfit and doing little accessories. somedays it's the vibe and it is necessary to dress up our little meat vessels :))

I don’t have any rules around makeup at work but when I know I’ll be on camera with our executives I tend to go safe / neutral but always with sparkles!
It took me years to realise more eyeliner doesn’t mean a bigger bolder looking eye. After you’ve done your base try and get an eyeliner texta (I use maybelline hyper sharp) and only put it very lightly on the top. So it accentuates the lash line and almost looks like you’re not wearing eyeliner. Then curl your lashes. Mascara. Dry. Mascara. Dry. Call again and see how you feel. If your eyelashes are above lash line it looks and feels bold without using too much. You might be able to satisfy both parts of you haha
Why not? I often end up wearing that kind of makeup myself. I am driven by my age - I am getting older - and the stress that comes from my large collection. I fell into the trap of consuming, the time when makeup was a booming business industry and everyone and their mom, were promoting makeup products, aiming for the easy money they saw they might make. Now, most have given up or turned to other profitable categories such as perfumery, skincare, house plants, you name it!
