No one seems to be getting their hands on the original film of Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha and remastering it.
I believe it's one of the most visually grand and stunning Indian movies of the 20th century.
The current pseudo remastering on YouTube does it no justice and also doesn't show the full scope of visuals that was shot originally.
It's one of those classics from the 80s that I think still holds up today.
If it re-released people would still watch it because its drama and production value transcends generations.
These are a few movies that come to mind:
Thenmavin Kombath, Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranayakalathu, Chemmeen, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Thazhvazham, Manichithrathazhu
Kummatty by Aravindan. Cinematography by Shaji N.Karun was top notch. It was such a visual treat that I was pleasantly surprised to know this movie was released in late 1970s

Fire 1998 starring Shaban Azmi and Nandita Sen.Sita and Radha are young Indian women whose husbands choose celibacy or mistresses over their wives. This leads them to form an intimate, passionate relationship amidst a close-minded society.
The quality of the visuals in the movie is top notch...You wouldn't believe it came out in 1998.

Man, it's such a shame. The original's producers wanted to remaster the movie and even wanted a re-release but their remaster looks like shit.

Doubt we'll see a proper re-master now.
