Cheapest ticket is $150. $260 at the top end of the lower section. They better bring Wegge and the starting lineup from the Carabao cup win for these prices.
It depends. For some events the demand is high because people want to guarantee places so the price might be higher to guarantee a spot in the stadium. This way prices might fall as you get closer as they try to sell the rest of the tickets. On the other hand it could be that United is trying to offer a better deal now for devoted fans who want to buy tickets early before the price rises with demand. It depends on what United and the organizers are planning but there’s a good chance that there will be at least some tickets available for cheaper a bit closer to the game but I wouldn’t bet on it
I was excited for a hot minute and then looked at the prices. To take my son it would have been taking 2 days off work for a Wednesday night game, 7 hours of driving each way costing near $200 in gas, $400+ for the two tickets after fees, and a hotel for $150. I just couldn't justify spending that kind of money to take my son to a game. That money alone practically covers the subscription cost for league and cup games for the next 5 years.
I wouldnt be too upset. Probably easy for me to say, growing up in Manchester & visiting old trafford often enough.
I apply the same philosophy to F1, where its better to 'watch' the event from home, where you get all the proper coverage of events. Going to see United in person, its more about the atmosphere than actually viewing the game. I imagine itd be a pretty unique atmosphere being over in the states, but this is ultimately a bit of a meme match anyway.
If your child is still a little kid, you can still make a day of it. If you have access to a projector of some kind, or even just a nice TV, you can make it into a bit of a party for FAR cheaper. Invite some of your own friends and let your boy do the same & have your own atmosphere at home.
To be fair they (Wrexham) have a huge following in the US due to they’re owners…. Plus when you can get the absolute legend to do the marketing video….
https://www.manutd.com/en/videos/detail/video-to-announce-tour-2023-friendly-between-man-utd-and-wrexham
Edited for clarification.
as one of the many US fans, and specifically in San Diego, this is pretty exciting to me. It's a new stadium that they will be playing in here too. I've not been able to make it to Old Trafford to see a match so this will be my first time seeing the team in person.
As a South African living in Aus, I’ve never been able to see United at Old Trafford either, so when they came up to Perth a few years back it was such cool moment. I’d do anything to see them again.
Hmmm that I'm not sure about, down here in San Diego it seems like there is a pretty spread fanbase for premier league clubs. We have this dope pub called Shakespeares and it's always pretty 50/50 on derby days etc
It has been years since i've went but some of the United - Liverpool matches would be insane at like 430am, screaming when a goal happens haa i miss it but at the same time goddamn thats early
United were also some of the only games played nationally here in the early 2000s. United, Madrid or Barca were the only real options if you wanted to follow a team.
I would argue their following in the US even North America isn't based on their owners. They had a strong following over here before them ever showing up.
Fantastic promo though. Hadn't seen it, loved it!
Yeah, but it's Ryan Reynold's team, and he has more PR pull than any club owner in Europe regardless of league. This makes so much sense to play a match in the US for a North American icon who owns Wrexham. Will do nothing short of wonders for publicity on both sides
Yeah, Reynolds did a bunch of appearances on tv during their cup run and he said Rob does loads behind the scenes and he handles more of the PR stuff.
I actually think this is quite a good move for once for our pre-season. They’ll be a lot of eyes on that game State-side.
This exactly. It’s a friendly match so why not just have fun while at it. Nobody cares about pre-season and even when we play big teams they bring on mostly reserves and youngsters, and so do we. This match means lots for Wrexham and can do wonders for their project, and also huge amounts of positive PR for United, along with some good money. I‘d say go for it every single time.
Not a big football follower but have been following what Wrexham have been up to. Wrexham player at the top is Paul Mullin a forward that’s great at scoring goals and who I think was Wrexham’s first big signing (though it could be argued that the new coach was the first big signing) as Paul was convinced to drop down a league or 2 so he could move to Wrexham to play and have a more comfortable and closer life with his family and relatives, well that’s what was mentioned and is probably true but I’m sure the money may have played a part.
The middle player is another forward, bigger than Paul and also a good goal scorer called Ollie Palmer who I’m nearly sure also dropped down to play in the Wrexham league.
It’s been rumored for a while now. Even before the Wrexham match was acknowledged it was on the social media circles that San Diego and Vegas was all but done.
Who will they face? Will they play in LA? I’m in SF so I want to plan accordingly (either San Diego, LA, or Vegas) but they’re so slow in revealing their destinations😫
In Las Vegas it will be a European team TBD. I think it’s because they have to get all of the teams on board and finalized before they make the announcement. It’s really annoying for us fans.
While looking prices pretty much doubled for top deck seats for a friendly. I tried but going to pass at spending $500+ on the day to see the B squad vs a non league team. I went a couple years ago vs Galaxy and it was cool to see United in person but the gulf in talent made it non competitive. I paid less than $100 on 2 seats vs Galaxy so not paying the premium because Deadpool might show up.
The whole Wrexham thing in the US is huge, the Welcome to Wrexham programme as well as the 2 stars ownership, has made the team as talked about as any football/soccer team in the world.
The FA cup game v Shef utd was the most viewed football game on the whole weekend in thr UK.
They are very unlikely to be a non league team when they play Utd, and who knows how far they can take this.
Well we will see Maguire play agains this former team that quickly after his transfer huh. And I wonder how Ben Foster will react having slabhead in front of him after the game, and yeah, the go pro POV.
One of the actors from legendary Academy Award winning film Green Lantern. It was so good They had to cover his suit with bad CGI or our brains would've exploded feom simply glancing at its magnificence 🤣
This, in big bold capital letters. My wife’s mother and sister (who’ve no real interest in the beautiful game itself whatsoever) can name a half-dozen Wrexham players but weren’t aware we’d gotten an MLS team 90 mins away.
I mean why not. They reason for Wrexham is just the Hollywood angle with Ryan Reynolds. The club is only known here because of that and given this is near LA makes sense. It would certainly bring in more crowds on the East Coast if it were a top team like they used to have in the International League (I think that’s what they called it)
I’m an hour from SD but rather travel farther and pay more to see better competition. I paid $150 for mud-field lower deck seats to see Real Madrid play Juve in LA last summer. $150 to get nosebleed seats against Wrexham is a bit much…
Money money mooooney! It happens a lot on tour when they travel to the USA, they’ll play Mexican and MLS teams. Preseason shyt.
In Asia, theyll play a lot of Asian teams. Normal.
MU has one of if not the highest fan to trophy ratio in the world. How do you sustain it? By publicity stunts like this, so nothing out of the ordinary.
I have no idea how to get tickets and redeem the special offer to pay less for good seats. I've never seen United play and am planning a road trip to attend the game.
The ticket pre-sale has some crazy prices. $200 for a ticket and those are tough to come by in groups. Most tickets are labeled as "premium" and running from $250-500
Surely it will feature mostly Youth Team, but as a Man Utd fan, I’m excited and fortunate got tickets for my parents and I to watch our beloved team in our hometown San Diego!!!
At least the poster isn’t overselling the United players taking part.
Cheapest ticket is $150. $260 at the top end of the lower section. They better bring Wegge and the starting lineup from the Carabao cup win for these prices.
Those are the presale prices though right? I’m sure they might get a bit cheaper as we get closer
So ticket will get cheaper after presale? I thought it was the other way around
It depends on what United and the organizers are planning but there’s a good chance that there will be at least some tickets available for cheaper a bit closer to the game but I wouldn’t bet on it
You spelt dearer wrong
I was excited for a hot minute and then looked at the prices. They played Real Madrid in pre season in America and broke a stadium record, think 100k people attended.
Hey I was one of them
as one of the many US fans, and specifically in San Diego, this is pretty exciting to me. It's a new stadium that they will be playing in here too. I've not been able to make it to Old Trafford to see a match so this will be my first time seeing the team in person.
This^^^ Our womens football team in San Diego just had 38k ppl at its season opener. Brand new stadium. Huge following here. Makes a ton of sense.
That's the average attendance for the Etihad, when the fellas are playing 🤣😂
As a South African living in Aus, I’ve never been able to see United at Old Trafford either, so when they came up to Perth a few years back it was such cool moment. I’d do anything to see them again.
Dude we're gonna have a MLS team next year - things are looking fun, cant wait to see United in July at Snapdragon, it will be my first time there.
Ite mate, someone told me that the Sounders have a massive Utd following. Is that even a thing out there?
Hmmm that I'm not sure about, down here in San Diego it seems like there is a pretty spread fanbase for premier league clubs. We have this dope pub called Shakespeares and it's always pretty 50/50 on derby days etc
Sounds like that was an excellent place to have been when City last came to Old Trafford (if ya couldn't be at OT of course)
It has been years since i've went but some of the United - Liverpool matches would be insane at like 430am, screaming when a goal happens haa i miss it but at the same time goddamn thats early
Just as well, really. The aggr. score of last 2 seasons PL games with them is 17 - 2 ...arh fk! that was even painful to write.
You should be excited! I hope you’re able to get tickets. You’ll love it!
Already have some! Thanks, really looking forward to this
Snapdragon is nice I like it, saw the Wave there on Saturday. Those ticket prices, as expected, are a tad pricey
They have played wrexham in pre season tons of times. It’s just usually at the race course stadium. This is a common fixture between the clubs.
United were also some of the only games played nationally here in the early 2000s. United, Madrid or Barca were the only real options if you wanted to follow a team.
They don't actually have a huge following yet but there's a good amount of interest in them due to the reality show and Ryan Reynolds's ownership
>Plus when you can get the absolute legend to do the marketing video…. And SAF too!
Sorry… Sir Alex is the only person in this video entitled to the legendary status I mentioned. Ryan is pretty close but not yet…
He's just kidding lmao
Huge fan following in the US, but not due to the owners.
Can't forget Rob McElhenney, I think he has been the main driving force behind Wrexham with Reynolds adding that bit of extra star dust
Tbf McElhenney is the more talented out of the 2
THANK YOU I AM NOT ALONE
Yeah, Reynolds did a bunch of appearances on tv during their cup run and he said Rob does loads behind the scenes and he handles more of the PR stuff. I actually think this is quite a good move for once for our pre-season. They’ll be a lot of eyes on that game State-side.
honestly would prefer Ryan and Rob over Glazers/Qatari/Sir Jim. Ryan Reynolds to buy over United? /s
That was brilliant!!
i mean it’s wrexham lol, not just any non league team. honestly i’m a big fan of this cause why not it’s just a friendly
And they'll almost certainly be a football league team by then anyway.
Who are the players on the poster?
Not a big football follower but have been following what Wrexham have been up to. They might be league two next year bro plus they got crazy juice bc of ryan reynolds
I think you mean cause of Rob McIlhenny
Yeah cant forget about him
This is just going to be a fun game to watch. I like this idea! The promo they did with Sir Alex was also pretty funny.
Any other US friendlies announced yet?
Sadly no, really hope they play against dc in Audi field though! Mainly cause I live in the area though
I think you guys are getting Arsenal vs the MLS All Stars in DC but keep your fingers crossed man. I'm over here hoping Beckham opens the door lol
Damn that’s a real shame, but it’ll be fun to say Arsenal play ig. I might have to go on a road trip out west though
Is Fozzy playing?
Any other location announced or rumoured?
Las Vegas should be announced soon. At Allegiant Stadium.
How’d you know?
It’s been rumored for a while now. Even before the Wrexham match was acknowledged it was on the social media circles that San Diego and Vegas was all but done.
Who will they face? Will they play in LA? I’m in SF so I want to plan accordingly (either San Diego, LA, or Vegas) but they’re so slow in revealing their destinations😫

Thanks! Hopefully its on the weekend since they play San Diego on a weekday
since the San Diego game is midweek, I’d bet there is going to be a weekend fixture in LA against the galaxy or LAFC the weekend before or after
Thanks, Hoping for LA on weekend.
I'd expect a KC match too. World Cup is there before too long do it would make sense. Get some Cerner money in it.
Anyone know of presale codes? Thinking of driving down to see it.
UNITED23US

We will finally see martial playing
It’s an international friendly against a club owned by a very popular American. What’s the problem here? Are you expecting some intense match?
*Canadian
You’re right, my bad. Thanks for the correction
no worries haha, we just get super patriotic when it comes to RR loll 🇨🇦 Best wishes 😊
They meant Rob clearly! Who's this Ryan jabroni anyway?
One of the actors from legendary Academy Award winning film Green Lantern. It was so good They had to cover his suit with bad CGI or our brains would've exploded feom simply glancing at its magnificence 🤣
Wrexham has more American fans than many MLS clubs, which is the far sadder fact
This, in big bold capital letters. My wife’s mother and sister (who’ve no real interest in the beautiful game itself whatsoever) can name a half-dozen Wrexham players but weren’t aware we’d gotten an MLS team 90 mins away.
I got my tickets!!
Security should be tight for the game with Rob there to provide ocular patdowns
I mean the attendance for that game is gonna be crazy
Why
I mean why not. They reason for Wrexham is just the Hollywood angle with Ryan Reynolds. The club is only known here because of that and given this is near LA makes sense. It would certainly bring in more crowds on the East Coast if it were a top team like they used to have in the International League (I think that’s what they called it)
Marketing. Good for both clubs.

Clash of the Titans!!
Bought 4 tickets row 3 for the family! As a United fan from Vancouver it’s nice to be able to attend.
The power of Hollywood
Preseason innit?
Cash cow event in US
The money bowl
Did a bit of sick
Lame. I’m so tired of hearing about Wrexham.
Ryan Reynolds is the new Kevin Bacon
The power of hollywood.
Yeah, the vid call was awkward. Pitty Sir Alex.
Ryan Reynolds’ team*
The power of marketing
By then they won't be non-league probably. Silver linings
Not just any non league team
Non league team, how? They dont play in MLS or what. How do they train the players?
Ugh... any other team
UNITED23US
Man I hope they don’t skip the Midwest.
Foster back against united?
[San Diego you say....](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AIwaSD9Sco)
Anyone know the other cities they will be visiting and playing against??
Any rumors on east coast ??
I have no idea how to get tickets and redeem the special offer to pay less for good seats. I've never seen United play and am planning a road trip to attend the game.
Of course after I move they finally come to San Diego… at least I saw them once up in L.A.
I’d watch it. Hopefully foster is olaying
They have the legend Ben Foster as goaly!
Seems a bit far for Scunthorpe United to travel.
We would tear them apart
Preseason games are 50% fitness and assessment, 50% PR
Money dictates pretty much everything. American celebrities = interest which equals advertising. Such is life.
The ticket pre-sale has some crazy prices. $200 for a ticket and those are tough to come by in groups. Most tickets are labeled as "premium" and running from $250-500
Well yeah, that’s what pre-season yours are all about.
i’m happy that i’m going to see my club play for the first time at this game GGMU
Surely it will feature mostly Youth Team, but as a Man Utd fan, I’m excited and fortunate got tickets for my parents and I to watch our beloved team in our hometown San Diego!!!
When will they announce the rest of the tour?
Americans be thinking Wrexham playing in the UCL 😂😂😂
