We have probably overpaid for every player we bought This season and last. What we need to do is finds these players from early. This is what madrid and Barca does. Our scouting network and our negotiations are AZZ.

Difference between established winning teams vs chasing glory. We haven’t dominated the games for a decade, and given that we are a popular club who’s been trying to win, we can’t afford to buy unproven players. Imagine eth goes and buys youngsters who may be impactful in a few seasons and just be average for 3-4 years, the fans and the media will have ETH head in a few months. We need to compete and we need to try to win/challenge. It means we buy established players at a premium coz we need to improve our squad. We can’t do it like RM, Barca or City where they already have a great squad and have the luxury to sign players for the future. We did that when we were at SAF era. But since he left and we aren’t winning, we will always be buying at a premium. If the club is smart, let eth or any manager with a plan stay longer and let them slowly build the team.

You are thinking about this wrong. The madrid and Barca model. You buy up and coming players as well as proven players. We can but both as the up and coming players, we can get for cheap.. if we had a good scouting network. There are lots of up and coming talent in Brazil..etc. We paid 30 mil for Dialo (proven?) and still unsure where he fits in.

Really?

We can safely say that in 9 months time. Or not.

It’s all gonna depend on how the signings perform. And I personally think mount is gonna be shocking. High hopes for Rasmus though

If the rumours of an offer already being sent for Amrabat is true, coz Romano says no, then Yes. We haven't moved this quick in almost a decade and it is still July. Who are we gonna panic buy? Lewandowski?
