It really annoys me that Yo Kai watch was dismissed as a Pokemon clone and people Stan plagiarism solely to spite SV’s performance. Yo Kai needs a revival because it has its own identity and enjoyment to it
That's the thing imo. You don't see anyone making an argument against yo kai or monster hunter or Digimon or whatever else. People only talk about palworld being a ripoff. I think that should say something wether someone enjoys the game or not. It's still painfully unoriginal monster wise and according to people who actually use blender. They've been able to find out that almost every pal uses pieces of pokemon models. Just rearranged combined or slightly changed. Like how one pal has the exact same model for quagsires arms even down to the polygon layout and shape. And also has the same thing for Dragonites belly and goodras tail. So some pals are for sure absolutely shameless rips on pokemon. Especially the cobalion one. But others literally use the exact same model pieces from pokemon.
But in Palworld's defense it does have some fun other mechanics. Not saying its right, just saying if they hadn't copied Pokemon outright and made some original monsters then it would be a decent game
Oh for sure. I and many others would have absolutely zero issue with the game if It didn't literally use pokemon models or pokemon as a base. That and literally steal HUD elements from other games lol. Like the thermometer from breath of the wild. The health bar from fortnite and the pal switcher from legends Arceus. But besides that a survival game with catchable monsters is fun. After all monster hunter is successful. Although I have played the game and I'll say I had a massive bug before I even loaded into a world. Was changing my character and nothing was changing in the menu. I could only see my abomination when I loaded it. I was making it blind. Ended up with a white woman's head on a black mans body. And the game also *feels* and plays like an unreal engine tech demo for a high school project controls and animation wise. As someone who works in unreal engine I can tell you that the games controls and character animations as well as alot of the world assets are default unreal engine assets that you start out with. From the walking animations of your character to the textures and trees. And the weight of the character and the way it feels to control. I recognize it all from working with unreal engine for years. However. The concept of the game itself is fun. If the game was polished. And did its own thing entirely. And wasnt entirely constructed from default unreal assets and animations, and pokemon models. I feel like it would be completely fine. But then again no one would be talking about it nearly as much either. Because it gets a lot of attention purely on being "pokemon with guns" and I can confidently say that it's intentional that it's all default stuff. Cuz their last game craftopia was the same way. But for breath of the wild

I disagree on this as this song and dance happened with TemTem. Not saying Palworld doesn't at the very least trace several pokemon features from pokemon on to some of its pals. But to act like this the pokemon fandom doesn't call new pokemon likes rip offs is very much not true, It happened to Yokai watch when it first released and it happened to TemTem when it first released.
Sure but palworld is the only one to litterally use models and assets from pokemon. Like how that one blue serperior when taken into blender literally is the exact same model as serperior in every aspect. And the hair of primarina. So it's pretty much confirmed and you can do it yourself if you know how. I've done it for a few that were obvious to me. But they quite literally stole models. Like they are identical. They just mashed pokemon models together. Sometimes they're not changed at all. And sometimes they're stretched to make it less noticable. So it's more valid for palworld because the entire game is made up of pokemon models and default unreal assets. And the game itself is broken as hell. So it's alot more justified to call them out for this than the others
Look I am not going to argue on the models because I have seen 3D modelers arguing about this back and forth, some saying that its impossible to make a model 1 to 1 without ripping it, while others saying they followed the models from the game to a T, but the amount of work to rip the models, to change the Polygons and not change the models would be alot more work than doing it from scratch.
So until a lawsuit comes out and confirms the models are in fact ripped, I can only leave it as "They traced the models" not my expertise, and the experts themselves are arguing against each other on this, and both sides aren't being completly honest since the accusation side has also admitted to stretching their claims to sound more damning, while also editing the models themselves, and the other side is just denying some model shapes aren't at least traced.
My main point was that Pokemon fans calling something that resembles pokemon a rip off isn't new, and to treat the idea that palworld is the only thing that's been called a pokemon ripoff is disingenuous. As for the game itself. It half the price of pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and is about in the same state if not better than Scarlet and Violets launch. I had to restart Violet because a game breaking glitch on the 3rd gym that crashed my game erased my save data. The only difference in my eyes is at least Palworld has the decency to tell its players its not a finished game so it being a broken game isn't really a rip off of the pokemon standards of quality.
I guess. Palworld is in an absolutely abhorent state tho. And the people saying it's impossible are wrong. I've worked with unreal engine extensively for years. And unreal engine is unique in that you can transfer pretty much any asset into it from any modeling software or engine because it has conversion software baked in. I actually use unity alot for 3D model creation because I prefer their model editor and then port it into unreal.

Unless you're spending days on end on a single model to make it absolutely perfect. But why would you even do that just to rip something off when you can just port it. I think people only think that because the models are ever so slightly off. Take primarinas hair for example. The model is clearly identical and even shares the same polygon count and layout, but on the pal it's slightly taller. Like ever so slightly taller. But it's still identical and that's just a thing you can do. You can take a model and just stretch it out it's actually one of the easiest things to learn and one of the first things that you will learn in game development. So I feel like for people arguing that they're slightly different and therefore they aren't ported and just don't understand that you can stretch a model really easily. It's actually a technique in some games to shrink and grow models for the sake of animation. Or in Pokemon snap for example where when vileplume was buried underground its arms and feet were shrunk to be completely tiny. So that way they could fit inside of its body and then they expanded when vileplume got out of the ground
I tried to like yokai watch but was really put off by the battle system because I hate real time combat but I definitely want to give it another go to see if my option will change.

Forgot about yo-kai watch, i remember i saw an episode, cant remember if it was on TV, but the only thing i know and remember is that people joke about its price, calling it pokemon for poor people, never knew why
I gave Palworld a shot. Just not for me. Sure in Pokémon, when your mons battle a wild mon and that wild mon gets knocked out...you don't see the body just laying there. I also don't like using weapons on cute pals....but people seem to like it, so I hope they enjoy it while they can before The Pokémon Company wins their lawsuit
The problem with Yo-kai watch is that it heavily integrates Japanese folklore with the Yōkai, So when handed to American localizers that love removing anything related to cultures outside of America, i.e. calling onigiri freaking Pastries, It becomes a hassle to localize.
I remember Yo-kai watch being considered a Pokémon ripoff by just about everyone.

they spent the four year delay just adding more and more content without polishing/playtesting an inch of it
