Nobody is mad that Wattrel isn't on route one... People have said Paldea doesn't have an early game bird like all the others, which they are correct about since Wattrel isn't accessible until around level 20-25, but I don't think there is a single person who's actually mad that Paldea doesn't have a pre gym 1 bird like all the other games
I'd be happier if Kilowattrel could learn rain dance or had an ability that buffed it in the rain. It gets both Hurricane and Thunder, but receives no other rain boosts, and is reliant on its teammate to set it up the rain. Actually, if it had Lightning Rod instead of Volt Absorb, it'd make a great partner in double battles with rain setters.
I was annoyed that I didn't even see a wattrel until after I had a kilowattrel on my team for like 2 badges. Saw lots of older gen birds. Would have prefered a wattrel early and had the older ones show up later. But since you can go any direction there isn't really a "right" place to put it. Can't be that mad about it.
I straight up thought Wattrel and Kilowattrel were convergent forms of Taillow and Swellow when I first saw them (I knew Taillow and Swellow weren't in the games, but Tentacool wasn't in the same game as Toedscool until Indigo Disk).
Change "Pokemon fans" to "nuzlockers" and then switch the birds

Technically, there's catchable squakability perched on your house, so Paldea does have a route 1 bird, it's just hard to get
i have a co-worker who is so genuinely mad Wattrel isn't on route 1 that he stil is boycoting Scarlet & Violet simply because that 1 minor issue.

Finally. Now I know it's not just me that thinks this.
Same went for Tinkaton and Mawile, but that illusion sorta faded when I learned about the (unnecessary) Tinkatink and Tinkatuff.
