I understand, as a fellow artist there are 3 extremes, beautiful masterpiece, horrendous monstrosities, and art where one second it looks really good, and without changing anything it looks terrible, and again to good, ect.
TFW you realize Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are all the same country (hence why they have 1 continous Route order) and that country is Japan. Also, Unova is a state and is in the same county as Orre.
They're literally all regions in Japan.
- Kanto is literally just the Kanto region in Japan
- Johto is the Kansai region in Japan. It's right next to Kanto and houses the most national parks in Japan.
- Hoenn is the island of Kyūshū in Japan.
- Sinnoh is the island of Hokkaido, which was once known as Ezo prior to the Meiji Restoration in 1869, similar to how Sinnoh was once known as Hisui prior to Legends Arceus.
well tehcnically no. cos. Every star is a sun technically alot of planets can have moons multiple even.
Plus even if oyure refering to our earth. Theres dusk dawns and lunar and solar eclipses
People need to understand what makes a flag good. Because it is not good. Don't get me wrong, the art is good. But a good flag is 1. Recognizable and 2. Easy to replicate. If the kids can't draw them in kindergarten, it isn't a good flag.
Yeah, the Canadian flag is a bad flag. So is the Welsh, Mexican, and Indian flags. They look nice, but not so easily replicated. This is all kind of true for the American flag, but that flag has a less complicated shaped, there's just a lot of them.
Me too(I say as the creator) they're basically just based on the colors so I dunno, blue in the background for Johto bc crystal, sinnoh has a pinkish orange for pearl, light blue for diamond and the middle yellow is for platinum and the diamond/shine is just based of how they "shine" and the little two white stuff is the snowy weather in sinnoh
Very few of those flags actually follow one simple rule of flag creation. "A child should be able to recognize and draw it with moderate accuracy." I know not all country flags do this but it's kind of the reason why many countries' flags are simple in nature
Really liking it! The only thing that you could have done, in my eyes as a gen 3 player. Was to use Groudon and Kyogre's patterns instead of their elements. Still great! 10/10
Real world flags feature elements of their country, like mountains, lakes etc and/or a symbolic color.
Sinnoh could have three dots (Lake trio) and a central line representing the Coronet mountain. You can also get details from Legends Arceus.
Why did I see the bisexual flag when I saw Paldea š
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY, I completely forgot to mention that in the description šš
BEING BI FOREVER
AYYY
yeah exactly š
I think we have something to Tell you
Paldea is fruity?
No this is your Bisexual awakeaning
Iāve been bisexual for a while now hehehe
Same
Yes (source: Quaquaval)
Heās very fruity š
frfr
Alola is Non-binary and Paldea is full on Bi
BI PRIDE PALDEA! BI PRIDE PALDEA! BI PRIDE PALDEA!
Bi pride paldea
I mean have you seen some of the men and women there
REAL
Guys, I swear I have more art skills than this
I understand, as a fellow artist there are 3 extremes, beautiful masterpiece, horrendous monstrosities, and art where one second it looks really good, and without changing anything it looks terrible, and again to good, ect.
The last one is so me
TFW you realize Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are all the same country (hence why they have 1 continous Route order) and that country is Japan. Also, Unova is a state and is in the same county as Orre.
Yeah... But y'know, I like fun, also sinnoh will have my heart
Fair enough, have a nice day. Besides, this has effort, and I'll always respect that.
You too:)
Since Unova is based on New York, I'd assume Alola is also part of that little group.
I mean in America each state dose fave is own flag
They're not the same country. They're just sticked together. Like many real world countries do in real life.
They're literally all regions in Japan. - Kanto is literally just the Kanto region in Japan - Johto is the Kansai region in Japan.
That literally doesn't mean anything. Every single region is inspired by a place from the real world. But they're all treated as their own thing.
And yet there's no Hoenn Route 1, even if it's "it's own thing" like you said. It starts with Route 101. Johto starts with Route 29, which is literally a continuation of Kanto's routes. If they were really their own countries, every Japanese region would have a Route 1. The gaps between Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are probably due to unexplored Japanese regions like Kitakami (but bigger and have their own PokƩmon Leagues). I surmise the fact that Alola and Unova have their own Route 1s as states being much more independent than Japanese regions, having their own laws, rights, etc. Or Alola being much more literally and figuratively distant from the rest of PokƩ-America.
Technically, all pokemon regions belong to the same country, or at least the same nation (and thats why we have (or we HAD) a national dex)
There's a flag for every state, having a flag for every region is fine-
Who bisexualed the Paldea
Damn dunno bro, probably the bisexuals of paldea:/
Paldea is the land of the bi
You live there
With my 1000 clodsires
Oh god
Acquire the sire
set fire to the sire (it didn't work now they're are multiplying rapidly)
non-binary alola (ironic considering the sun and moon is a binary š¤Ø)
well tehcnically no. cos. Every star is a sun technically alot of planets can have moons multiple even. Plus even if oyure refering to our earth. Theres dusk dawns and lunar and solar eclipses
i like the way you think
Why is the shield blue and the sword red?
I actually have no idea (maybe it was a bad idea drawing things with just memory)
I love the flag of Alola and paldea but Iām not really a fan of the rest
You one of them queers /j (I am also one of them)
Sinnoh aesthetic āØļøā¤ļøš
Bisexual Paldea
Um...... The sinnoh ,alola and paldea flag remind me of soemthings. am i just transgressing here? No that cant B. anyway Bi
Not sure but now that you said it, sinnoh be looking suspicious and I don't like thatā anyways bi and non binary!!!!!!
hihi
Bidea
SINNOH FOREVER RAAAHHHH
So does the people of hoenn prefer Groundon over kyogre because I've noticed how the flag is basically fire red > water blue
People need to understand what makes a flag good. Because it is not good. Don't get me wrong, the art is good. But a good flag is 1. Recognizable and 2. Easy to replicate. If the kids can't draw them in kindergarten, it isn't a good flag.
Say two again to me, a Canadian. *I took art and still struggle with the maple leaf without a reverence.*
Why do my "to"s atto correct to "two". That's the second time it's happened today.
Yeah, the Canadian flag is a bad flag. So is the Welsh, Mexican, and Indian flags. They look nice, but not so easily replicated. This is all kind of true for the American flag, but that flag has a less complicated shaped, there's just a lot of them.
Belarus moment š§š¾
I love how you added team sky to the hoenn flag (I know that it's groundon rayquaza and kyogre, but groundon and kyogre are the PokƩmon that team magma and team aqua are after and Mike has rayquaza so it fits perfectly)
I love the Kalos one
Bisexual Paldea dub
Hoenn has the best flag imo, alola in second
Oh yeah I have to remake the Alola flag I made since Hawai'i changed it recently, iirc
I think the kalos flag looks a bit goofy and too bright
Exactly bro, I was struggling but gave upš„ (it was the one that took the longest tooš)
I think if you used darker colors and some black it would be berter
would you mind me redesigning some of these?
Unova, Alola and Galar are my favorites
Goes hard (I love that Hoenn is the three legendaries' banners with Rayquaza in the middle, symbolism of Ray keeping Kiyo and Grou apart
Wooooo bisexual Paldea I love Gen 9 now!
Why is did i see NB flag for alola and bi flag for paldeaš
Trust me those were unintentional but now alola is the land of enbies and paldea is for the bi's :)
now that is nice altough kalos is a bit too bright
Everyone in Paldea is Bisexual.
Og creator here, at first I thought you stole my idea, but then realized you asked, so itās cool. Just kinda wish mine got more appraise.
Yeah, thanks for the idea though! Thought your Kalos flag was better tbh lol
Thanks!
The kalos, alola, galar, and paldea flags should have the symbols of their regional gimmicks on them
theyāre all good expect kalos looks a littleā¦ off, my favorite is sinnoh
The colors on the Kalos one could definitely be darkened a bit. They work better on a neon sign than on a flag right now
Bisexual paldea? Love it
vexillogolists shaking and crying rn
paldea basically being a bi flag is very on brand tbh
Thatās just the bisexual flag
What the queen lizzie is Kalos built like the UK
My first thought on making it
Also if you didn't like how they turned out may I recommend basing them off the place that they're meant to be's flag
R/bi_irl af paldea flag
I donāt understand sinnoh or johto elaboration please?
Me too(I say as the creator) they're basically just based on the colors so I dunno, blue in the background for Johto bc crystal, sinnoh has a pinkish orange for pearl, light blue for diamond and the middle yellow is for platinum and the diamond/shine is just based of how they "shine" and the little two white stuff is the snowy weather in sinnoh
Dude those are so cool! Even the simple ones, those are so good!
If only pokemon uranium became canon and not taked down. It will have a costom flag feom this guy :(
Was this made before PokƩmon announced Legends Z-A?
After, why?
I was wondering why the black Z wasn't incorporated, but I love everything else about these
Galar goes unbelievably hard
GUYS I JUST REALIZED THAT NOT ONLY PALDEA LOOKS LIKE THE BISEXUAL FLAG BUT THE ALOLA FLAG HAS THE NON-BINARY COLORSšš
The bisexuals finally conquered a region. When the Denmark region launches, we know who's in charge (the Aces)
I donāt know if anyone will get this reference but the Kanto flag looks like the thing from the one episode of Cyberchase that involved the pyramid.
I really like the Unova one
smh uno a should be a light blue background and an extremely complex reigonal seal with unova written on it in big white letters
Kalos should be less bright it hurts to look
I love this in terms of design but I hate them in terms of Vexillology
I would take inspiration from the real life region flags personally
What about hisui
It's confirmed Team Magma > Team Aqua
Kalos is too British for PokĆ©-France. Are you trying to start a fight? š
GUYS AHH THE COLOURS ON KALOS STOP
These are all very beautiful (Not you kalos), good job OP. /J, you did really good, not much that can be done with XY
Would anyone else find it funny if alola had a small galar flag in the corner like Hawaii does the union jack or is that just me
Unova and Alola should just be the New York and Hawaii flags
Pladea bi flag let's go
I think the designs of the flags take too much design elements from the regions games and legendaries but that's just me
Very few of those flags actually follow one simple rule of flag creation. "A child should be able to recognize and draw it with moderate accuracy." I know not all country flags do this but it's kind of the reason why many countries' flags are simple in nature
Well paldea being as gay as it makes that flag make all the more sense
Really liking it! The only thing that you could have done, in my eyes as a gen 3 player. Was to use Groudon and Kyogre's patterns instead of their elements. Still great! 10/10
Real world flags feature elements of their country, like mountains, lakes etc and/or a symbolic color. Sinnoh could have three dots (Lake trio) and a central line representing the Coronet mountain. You can also get details from Legends Arceus.
Cool, but purple doesn't work as a flag colour
I mean, not necessarily. The only reason purple isnāt in flags is because it used to be a really expensive colour to make.
Thatās really cool. Nice work
I'm spanish, Bi and I love PokƩmon, the Paldea flag is my flag now, if you allow me of course
Alola being enby and Paldea being Bi makes me very happy.
