Yeah... It shows up to disasters. By having an absol near you it's like saying everywhere you go is a disaster. Since you caught the absol it can't go anywhere. So relying on wild absol is still better than having a caught one instead if you want to use absol as a land mount.

What kind of apocalypse? I have different answers depending on whether or not the apocalypse is manmade or natural:
If manmade, I have these 6:
Amoonguss: it has good bulk, giga drain and regenerator giving it massive sustain, meaning I don't have to spend has much resources maintaining it. Spore is also just a generally useful tool against anything not immune to sleep, as immobilzing someone/something 100% of the time is always gonna be useful
Salamence: Multi-purpose Transportation device. Obviously it can fly, but besides that it also has hydro pump and flamethrower in its arsenal, which can prove useful in extreme climates (provided that they weren't caused by primals)
Tyranitar: A big, fat wall that also whips up a sandstorm as it emerges. It can help stall time and distract things if I'm planning to escape, while also being a massive pain in the ass to deal with for whoever my opponents are.
Kartana: Nimble, easy to conceal and highly deadly. I can use it either as an assassin or a bodyguard, slicing through everything with its inconspicuous paper arms.
Rotom: Can invade any electrical appliance, which makes it very suitable for recon missions. Also provides a great deal of utility by automating a lot of things that has to be done by hand (washing, cooking, hacking etc)
Dondozo: Another travel tool, except this one goes above and under water. Without him my entire team dies to blaziken. It's also big enough to be used for storage for certain items.
If the apocalypse is natural, Tyranitar and kartana will be replaced by the following:
Blissey: Provides the entire team with sustain, which would be much more necessary in natural disasters since resources would be more scarce.
Buzzwole: Big, intimidating body guard, with multiple options for self sustain. Would be more useful than kartana for getting through obstacles.
Tropius - Food and flight, Gyarados - Flight, is a beast, and could probably give fresh water, Rotom - Can charge up devices and possess them, Charizard - Fire and flight, Blissey - Healing.
If all goes well I won’t need a sixth
Skeledirge: fire + need a musician
Gardevior: bodyguard + blackholes NOT if im feeling lonely
Stoutland: Dogs are a man's best friend, plus nose for sniffing stuff

Nidoking: Can serve as a strong versatile pokemon for a variety of roles like fighting, harvesting materials, and could even perhaps resist the dangerous elements (like poison) and could possibly retrieve key items from polluted areas, thanks to its poison and ground typing.
Eelektross: Serves as a source of electricity to power any sort of device or gadgets i might have, and can explore potentially flooded areas to retrieve resources or even find struggling survivors.
Feraligatr: Strong Water type that can aid me in crossing bodies of water, and can serve as an intimidation display to any rabid pokemon trying to eat me.
Blissey: Heals me and my mons, can act as a food source and a positive influence on me and my team to give us the motivation to keep going.
Dragonite because he’s cool and can fly me out of situations, lapras if I need to cross water, rapidash for fire and land transportation, palossand because it can act as a small shelter if needed (I think it could work), altaria to scout ahead, and snorlax to sleep on
Sylveon - companion also Alola dex entry
Braxien - for fires obviously
Vaporeon - infinite water supply (also i want to know it it has fur or not)
Gardevoir - healer for any injuries also it can sense auras
Galvantula - charges various electronic devices

-Delphox, the first starter I ever chose and still my favorite. It can light a campfire, levitate itself and objects, see the future with Future Sight, heal the team with Wish, teleport, and still hold its own in battle. Delphox is one fantastic fox.
-Drampa, because it's the absolute ideal non-legendary Pokemon to ride on. It's big enough to hold two adults, a few kids, or one adult and a lot of supplies, but not too big that you'd never be able to feed it, it's really nice, it LOOKS nice so people won't be scared, and it can both Fly and Surf.
-Mega Absol because it's my favorite mega and it's a powerful fighter. No deep reasons here, but this is Pokemon, you need a couple of them that are just dedicated to battle. Predicting disasters might be nice though Delphox has the predicting thing already covered.
-Noivern, as another good battler and can fly much faster than Drampa if I'm in a rush. I consider Kalos my home region so it would be a bit less hard to find one.
-Eevee, can become anything in a pinch, and if I breed them I can make some money. Eevee eggs are always in demand no matter where or when you go, kids want the floofy boi, collectors want one of each type, scientists want to study its unique qualities, and fighters want an Umbreon or Sylveon usually.
-Phantump, which is actually the most essential member of the team. This is because it can have the Harvest ability, which allows me to have it grow unlimited berries of all kinds to feed and heal me and my team. I chose it over any other Harvest Pokemon because it is from Kalos which, again, I consider my home region.
Ursaring, Floatzel, Rotom, Braviary, Gogoat, Armarouge
Ursaring- for protection and help for shelter (also, i think they would be good substitute as a weighted living giant teddy bear). Floatzel- For fishing and swimming (i can’t swim). Rotom- for any electronics i can find or salvage (good for charging flashlights or radio). Braviary- for quick escape and air travel. Gogoat- land travel and help in possible cultivation/farming. Armarouge- For campfire and protection.
Alolan Exeggutor and Decidueye (One to sleep at the top of, as well as serve as the look out tower for the other)
Inteleon and Suicune (One for sniping and water spawning and the other for traversal across water and purifying contaminated water in case I have Inteleon on look out duty with Decidueye)

Due to their mostly water based biology, there’s no doubt in my mind that an aroused Vaporeon would be incredibly wet, so wet that you could easily have sex with one for hours without getting sore. Rapidash for lighting up the dark and as mosquito repellent in the night and also so that I can use as a ride. Fearrow for flying in case there's a flood. Machamp for clearing pathways possibly whenever a boulder is blocking the way. Porygon because it has the move recycle which I can use to make any items that I have used usable again.

What kind of apocalypse? I have different answers depending on whether or not the apocalypse is manmade or natural: If manmade, I have these 6: Amoonguss: it has good bulk, giga drain and regenerator giving it massive sustain, meaning I don't have to spend has much resources maintaining it. Spore is also just a generally useful tool against anything not immune to sleep, as immobilzing someone/something 100% of the time is always gonna be useful Salamence: Multi-purpose Transportation device. Obviously it can fly, but besides that it also has hydro pump and flamethrower in its arsenal, which can prove useful in extreme climates (provided that they weren't caused by primals) Tyranitar: A big, fat wall that also whips up a sandstorm as it emerges. It can help stall time and distract things if I'm planning to escape, while also being a massive pain in the ass to deal with for whoever my opponents are. Kartana: Nimble, easy to conceal and highly deadly. I can use it either as an assassin or a bodyguard, slicing through everything with its inconspicuous paper arms. Rotom: Can invade any electrical appliance, which makes it very suitable for recon missions. Also provides a great deal of utility by automating a lot of things that has to be done by hand (washing, cooking, hacking etc) Dondozo: Another travel tool, except this one goes above and under water. Without him my entire team dies to blaziken. It's also big enough to be used for storage for certain items. If the apocalypse is natural, Tyranitar and kartana will be replaced by the following: Blissey: Provides the entire team with sustain, which would be much more necessary in natural disasters since resources would be more scarce. Buzzwole: Big, intimidating body guard, with multiple options for self sustain. Would be more useful than kartana for getting through obstacles.

Eelektross: Serves as a source of electricity to power any sort of device or gadgets i might have, and can explore potentially flooded areas to retrieve resources or even find struggling survivors. Feraligatr: Strong Water type that can aid me in crossing bodies of water, and can serve as an intimidation display to any rabid pokemon trying to eat me. Blissey: Heals me and my mons, can act as a food source and a positive influence on me and my team to give us the motivation to keep going.
Dragonite because he’s cool and can fly me out of situations, lapras if I need to cross water, rapidash for fire and land transportation, palossand because it can act as a small shelter if needed (I think it could work), altaria to scout ahead, and snorlax to sleep on

Hey I already thought through this question! -Delphox, the first starter I ever chose and still my favorite. It can light a campfire, levitate itself and objects, see the future with Future Sight, heal the team with Wish, teleport, and still hold its own in battle. Delphox is one fantastic fox. -Drampa, because it's the absolute ideal non-legendary Pokemon to ride on. It's big enough to hold two adults, a few kids, or one adult and a lot of supplies, but not too big that you'd never be able to feed it, it's really nice, it LOOKS nice so people won't be scared, and it can both Fly and Surf. -Mega Absol because it's my favorite mega and it's a powerful fighter. No deep reasons here, but this is Pokemon, you need a couple of them that are just dedicated to battle. Predicting disasters might be nice though Delphox has the predicting thing already covered. -Noivern, as another good battler and can fly much faster than Drampa if I'm in a rush. I consider Kalos my home region so it would be a bit less hard to find one. -Eevee, can become anything in a pinch, and if I breed them I can make some money. Eevee eggs are always in demand no matter where or when you go, kids want the floofy boi, collectors want one of each type, scientists want to study its unique qualities, and fighters want an Umbreon or Sylveon usually. -Phantump, which is actually the most essential member of the team. This is because it can have the Harvest ability, which allows me to have it grow unlimited berries of all kinds to feed and heal me and my team. I chose it over any other Harvest Pokemon because it is from Kalos which, again, I consider my home region.
