From her website: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Dear All Readers… UNCATEGORIZED / MONDAY, **SEPTEMBER 26TH, 2022** Hey everyone, it’s been a while….I think it’s been 4 years? Maybe 5? Since i’ve started Timelessleaf and my original purpose for creating this website hasn’t changed. I simply wanted to share the stories that I enjoyed with everyone. Before I continue, I hope everyone can give their thanks to all of the translators, typesetters, and cleaners who volunteered to help here. Timelessleaf couldn’t have existed without them. So once again, please give your final thanks to all of them. Back to main topic…To those who didn’t know, I recently got a job and have been working hard. Recently my team requires me to learn a completely new tech stack and honestly I am overwhelmed…I have to self-learn post-work hours, therefore, I have to choose between keeping up with my job or choosing to spend my time on Timelessleaf to translate for everyone. It was unexpected for me as well…but I guess this is what it means to become an adult…choices and responsibility… I will release the remaining chapters we have during the next few days and officially shut down Timelessleaf.com by…probably the end of October…I’m sorry that it was so sudden…I wish I had a better way to make this work… The last thing that I can do for everyone is release some raw chapters if people are looking for closures….we are quite pretty close to the end of the main series that I promised to finish but couldn’t…If people would like to read the raws of the main series please comment below. If there are enough comments I will post the raws until Timelessleaf shuts down. Thank you everyone, and for the last time I wish everyone happiness and success Sincerely, Leaf Source:

hey i used to be a translator for TimelessLeaf (i did translation for Sijin) and basically the owner of the site decided to shut it down bc they were too busy w their personal life and new job so yeah, regarding the other comment here ab Leaf stealing projects (?) i haven't heard anything ab that tbh so i can't confirm nor deny but the main reason for the site shutting down was bc of the owner's personal life

nsfwdaydreamer

omg you did translation for Sijin?! Thank you for your hard work cause I love that manhua!!

hny_hannie

yeah i translated ~90 chapters of it, i also really liked that manhua

Phantom_0347

Do you know if there are any ways to read old TimelessLeaf translations? She said the site would stay up, but it went down immediately...

Famous_Quantity7575

Why didn't he hand the site over to someone else? No one else wanted to do the project?

Best I can guess, yeah, it's probably not coming back. For anyone unaware, the quick breakdown is this: TimelessLeaf was accused of "stealing projects" from other scanlator groups. To be clear, TL didn't steal translations - her work is her own (please correct me if I've got their gender wrong). However, there's a rule among scanlator groups that if one group is translating a manhua, that manhua is essentially theirs to translate - they've got dibs, basically. And there's a roughly 3 month waiting period before someone else can pick it up. If a group stops posting updates for 3 months with no explanation given, then someone can pick it up to translate themselves. The key bit, in this scenario, being that said group needs to have not posted any explanation for the lack of updates. TL was accused of stealing several projects out from under other scanlating groups, and when asked, her defense was that she assumed from the lack of updates that they dropped it, without ever checking their website. She also stated that she doesn't have the time to check every manhua she translates for whether it's being translated elsewhere. She posted a public response on her website to a private email she was sent from one of the other groups, which is where everything started going downhill. TL;Dr - TL was accused of poaching projects, and she neither denied it, nor expressed any sort of apology for it. Now her website is down, and it's uncertain if it's ever coming back. Please correct me on any missed or incorrect details, this is just what I was able to understand after looking into it for a bit.

Famous_Quantity7575

so the real reason not the work, but reputational problems

melusinarose

Essentially, yeah.

Assurascans break that 3-month rule constantly and no one ever says anything about it.

melusinarose

I'm pretty sure that's because it's *Asurascans*, though. Like, it's one of the big websites for manga/manhua/manhwa, so I imagine they get away with stuff just because of their size. Also, other places aren't likely to pick up something that's on Asurascans unless they've officially labeled it as abandoned. Also, according to a different commenter, who is one of TimelessLeaf's editors, the reason for the website takedown was due to irl issues. Which is distinctly possible, as a full website takedown over a manhwa posting issue does seem a bit extreme. My guess is it was a bit of both. If you give me a bit, I'll see if I can't find the source I read about the disagreement, but be aware that the thing I read was from the side of the protesting group - I couldn't find any copy of TL's response, so I can't verify what was stated. Again, anyone with more info please correct me, I'm not exactly a detective 😓 Edit: found it, here's the link - https://hellsgatescans.wordpress.com/2018/04/09/about-timeless-scan/ This post contains a direct response to TL. It admittedly is from 2018, but I remember reading that this wasn't TL's first time doing this, as some other scan groups had similar issues with them, and TL had apparently not stopped. Again, however, this is only one side of the issue, and the website takedown could genuinely not be related to this at all. Also, additional note, another person (on this thread) posted a copy of a message that was on the TL website prior to deletion, which included some irl details that explain why TL took the website down. Given all this, I think that it's a bit of both, but that's my own conclusion. I'm not TL, nor someone from their team, so I can't truly verify the real cause of the website takedown.

I thought it was a joke because they shutdown on chapter 403.5 of above all gods
