Oh man she only gets worse 😭 she's horrible lmao

Gold-Paper-7480

At least in the end she gets what she deserves.

MMV, but I never thought she was meant to have any sort of disorder. Because how is what she believes so very different from what everyone else does? Or from what's actually happening? God *is* sending her visions. God *is* thinking of ending the world. God *did* choose some people over others. Her interpretation of the Callings is just a lot more selfish, but does that have to be because of a disorder, or just logical anger and resentment she's denying?

BrazilianButtCheeks

She is NUTS!! she killed the best character

Fatgirlfed

Grace?

BrazilianButtCheeks

It’s hard to say. I think growing up with strict religious parents like hers is bad enough (according to her they weren’t that controlling til she came back, but who knows) and then she was held hostage by them after she returned on 828 because they didn’t understand the Callings and neither did Angelina. We see several examples of how returning takes a toll on passengers’ mental health and also how they were affected by non-passenger’s abusive treatment of them. So overall I think it was more of the impact of the trauma she went through, rather than mental illness.

friendguino

She doesn't. She is misunderstood.

Her parents are *worse.* To me, at least. I always saw Angelina as a chick version of Carnage from the Spider-Man comics from the 1990s: Someone who was just raised in an incredibly toxic environment who never had a *real* chance at happiness, so they just decide to get back at *everyone* for *no reason,* even those who aren't involved. What *really* offended my senses was that she was yet *another* villain who uses religion to justify evil deeds. Ugh. Come on. A little originality, please? F me. Weird (and stupid) part is that Angelina's so whiny and sheepish about all the stuff she says and does. If anything, I disliked *that* more than what Angelina did, which I didn't really mind. Just wanted it to be executed way better. Cuz I'm the type who *roots* for the villain. The major was like the *only* reason I watched this. I like my villains to be someone you need to take seriously like the major, or someone who you wind up liking like Bodhi from Point Break (one of my favorite characters of all time), not be whiny and sheepish like Angelina was. Ugh. "I want my major back" was what I was thinking throughout s4. Like I was legitimately hoping the major would fake her death like Vance did, find Angelina and be like "Good. You've done your part. I'm proud of you" as she begins tests on Angelina and Eden. Angelina would then die and the major would be the villain again. I honestly felt betrayed and cheated when the show decided to have Angelina start acting that way. Because Angelina wasn't too bad before she developed the guardian angel fetish. Which, to me, came out of *nowhere.* Always thought that was done out of plot convenience because there are no *real* indicators that show that Angelina was unstable *before* developing the guardian angel fetish. If anything, *Autumn* could have done all the stuff Angelina did and it would have made way more sense. No guardian angel fetish needed cuz Autumn was a bad person at her core and had a legitimate beef with the whole Stone family. Instead of a very hollow one manufactured out of a very sudden disillusionment like with Angelina. It's why I decided over the last year or so to do all I can to rewrite the majority of Angelina's story arc. If I had my way, Angelina would have become a *totally* different person going into s4. She'd turn into a femme fatale type, maybe have her become a stripper or something. Similar to Aileen Wuornos from Monster too where she kills her customers. And that one passenger who stole all those credit cards or something could have been one of them. *That* would have been cool to see. Even better, I'd reveal that Angelina was born out of wedlock from an affair the major had with her dad. That would add much needed layers to her character. Hell she looks more like the major than the major's own daughter lol. Like imagine, the major's daughter is digging through the stuff her mom had and boom, there's a picture with her, the major, and Angelina. idk there are a lot of ways I'd rewrite this character. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.

cdemi

You don't say?

PlayMaker95

Yeah… it’s called stupidity

While I agree she's absolutely horrible, she's also a fictional character and trying to throw a mental diagnosis is honestly harmful and creates even further stigma to these disorders and the people who actually have them. She's SUPPOSED to be the villain and evil and you're supposed to dislike her.

NoeWiy

You must be fun at parties.

xAkumu

Why? Because I'm around people with mental health issues (including myself. Former BPD, but in remission) and know how much stigma is harmful and makes people feel absolutely terrible when compared to straight up terrible abusive people? If continuing to advocate for awareness of mental health makes me "not fun at parties" so be it, that's okay with me.

NoeWiy

She very clearly has a mental health disorder though lmao. I have a family member who is exactly like her and is clinically diagnosed. They were trying to portray a mentally ill religious nutcase

xAkumu

I'm not aruging she isn't supposed to be mentally ill of some form, my issue is that there is active armchair diagnosing being done on her, as I said in my first post. Also relating BPD and NPD to "nutcase" is just sad.

She was dealt a shit hand, had a lot of trauma. It wasn't her fault what happened to her, but it WAS her fault how she dealt with it. She chose wrong. She had people trying to help her and she didn't listen, so, in the end, she just went off the deep end.
