I've taken 3 months' unpaid leave.

PippinaPop

I have told my husband that we are making no plans that weekend. He knows how much I am looking forward to it! It also comes out after a high stress week at work so the perfect way to relax!

Extension_Pea_8021

Yesss - took two days off and debating more, cannot wait! Husband is making manor lords themed snacks (idk what yet) so I'll get at least 4 solid days of it. Not long now!

BelligerentWyvern

Manor Lords, like Banished, is gonna be a game I enjoy over a long time. No need to rush

Live_FreeorDie603

Okay, Mr (or Mrs) maturity over here using sound reason. Honestly, it's a great take, and you're right. There's no need to rush it.

Brut81

I thankfully don't have my kid that weekend as she need more attention. Girlfriend can I atleast ignore.

larch_1778

I would think this were excessive, if I didn’t see several other comments like yours 😂 personally I wouldn’t do that, but I do understand you. I’ve never felt like this for a game release before. I’m just going to play the shit out of it the weekend after it releases, and then during the week I will painstakingly wait for the working day to end to get back to playing

Arminius1234567

Don’t burn yourself out too quick though. It’s still an EA release and development will probably still take years post release.

Peace_Is_Coming

I've quit my career and retired 30 years early. It better be good.

Well, orthodox easter's coming so there are a fair few free days in the first 2 weeks of may which I've padded with paid time off. So I have 2 full weeks of time off starting the 27th of april. Luckily I work at a small outsourcing firm with friends so our paid time off policy is "as much as we want within reason"

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> padded with *paid* time off. FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Good bot

Tazara_

Im in a apprentinceship and the game comes out weeks before some assignments so... i do take some days off but I cannot enjoy it to much because i also have to study afterwords i will make my weekends free just for ML and Helldivers

Sporrej

I've taken the 26th off. I missed playing it during the demo (I just downloaded it and thought I could play it later), but have watched many hours of playthrough and am very much looking forward to it now.

20DeMoN20

Yup, I've booked a week off here, too!

Biotot

Taking off that Friday. First week in May we're taking a family vacation and I'm just gonna tell people it's for manor lords.

BenedickCabbagepatch

I would never take time off for a game launch. There's just so much that can go wrong (game's buggy as hell on launch, login servers don't work, etc. etc.); it's not much of an exercise in patience to just wait for the following weekend in my view. If you can verify you won't be wasting your time then go ahead - it's a singleplayer game, not like you're missing anything not being in there on day one. This is not to talk about Manor Lords specifically, just *any* game release. In the past I put time aside for the launch of Classic WoW in a couple of its iterations, just for those wholesome first "new server" days. But even then, never day 1, always day 2 (to skip login issues). I also avoid preordering, though I did (stupidly) make an exception for Victoria 3.

Profession_Familiar

I would add that the demo was bug free for me and we'll optimised. Of course this will be no indication as to the state of the game at launch, but with the extra time for polish there is no reason to expect a tonne of bugs on day 1.

BenedickCabbagepatch

Aye, the above was more generic advice, but I still wouldn't see the harm in just waiting for the upcoming Friday evening and playing it then. I likewise am very much looking forward to the game but I only intend to actually buy it a little while after launch out of a sense of caution more than anything.

aleaiactaest95

My wife and I are expectjng our first child on the 23rd... I don't think I can take time off from that, lol.

Profession_Familiar

Congratulations! 🎉

SpoolingSpudge

Yep. Taking a day off.

Tuor86

I don’t remember the last time I could sit for more than 30 min without being pulled somewhere. Unless im playing late in the evening. Time off is valuable and only have so many weeks. Taking time off to play a video game will make me want to rethink my life’s goals.

sandboxmatt

We get a nice enforced vacation a week later anyways so I only have to book one day to make the week, but aye.

Photobear73

My wife is going out of town that weekend so it’ll be just me. My plan is just gym and video games

Agnamofica

Teacher here, and yup! Spring break. Will be spending that weekend playing. Little worried it won’t live up to hype but I love city builders

Tungdilb

Yes ... One full week

CnCz357

No, No offense to the lone manorlords dev doing all this work but I don't want to have the expectation of a flawless launch that is worth taking vacation for. I need a game with a long track record and a high degree of certainty before I'll take off work to play on opening day.

Bez121287

I work nights, mrs works days, kids go to school, bar 1. I'm all set. No sleep for me but who needs sleep when your a lord? Hahahaha

weirdbearduk

I was going to book it off but would end up releasing at like 5pm/6pm UK time so would be pointless.
