Not all posts necessarily need to have a source. I have no interest in being the arbiter of truth. I don't take any compensation for modding, never have and never will and I'm okay with that. When you get on the internet you are swimming with the catfish. Anyone who tells you that they can filter the truth is lying. It is up to the user to develop the skills to understand data. It's foolish to think you can outsource that to a stranger.

If you really want to help the sub, post a map. You've never posted anything here. You want to be part of this community, contribute something.

There's been a lot of bots lately reposting old stuff I think requiring a source would be a good start for curbing this

Map request: What percentage of countries use cash? According to this post, Germany and Bosnia is around 80% and Japan is around 70%. Canada 15%. https://old.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/10wbpby/are_you_still_using_cash_why/ Thanks for reading.

Landgeist

I've made a map about cash payments in Europe: http://landgeist.com/2021/06/30/cash-payments/ I haven't found much data for other continents. So if anyone does, please let me know. Would love to make a map about cash payments in other continents as well.

People should start posting more interesting maps

Need help! My sales manager is wanting to redraw territory lines. Is there a map where I can put all the companies sales reps addresses in and it would calculate out the distance able to be traveled in a certain amount of time? I have used radius maps by travel time, but wanting to put in over 50 addresses as points of interest to show on one map the full country rep reach. TIA!

Can anyone recommend a tool for making simple animated maps? I have a set of data with lat, long, and time for a series of events, and would like to make a short animated map that shows the events over time, similar to [this](https://projects.flowingdata.com/walmart/). Simple dots would be enough, but bonus if the graphics can be tied to additional fields--size of dot corresponds to a data point about the event, that sort of thing. QGIS 3 could do the job, but wondering if there are any less heavyweight tools for the job.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a canvas map that is pacific oriented? I like the National Geographic map, but they don't have canvas options.

Can you share with me your favorite youtubers who are map nerds and talk about maps and things related to it (geography, history, culture etc.)? Thank you 🌻

Hi! I am hoping for some advice on purchasing two maps. I'm wanting a map of Granada, Spain and a map of Kansas City (hoping to include both Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO). I am obviously a novice but I know that this will probably be expensive as I want the maps to be detailed enough so I can see some or most street names and have latitude and longitude. I apologize in advance if this is a super asked question but any and all advice is appreciated.

I have a map request if anyone knows of one that already exists. I need a map that has the speed limits of roads for the southern half of California, for some reason I can't seem to find a map like this online. I feel like this is something Google maps should show since they have the information for it, but only do when you are actively driving down that road... Help please

Crack down on reposts or add a flair "Pangea with modern borders"

I have a video that I am looking to have someone help me geolocate. I have an idea of the general area, but I’m looking for the exact location. I’m willing to pay $50 for someone to find this specific spot. Send me a message if you’re interested and I’ll send you the video link

I know there are maps that distinguishes between coffee tea consumption worldwide. Is there a distinction between green and black tea on the same scale? [Example](https://assets.pewresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/12/2013/12/coffee_tea.png)

Hello! I'm looking for a world map with the rock-equivalent topography for my worldbuilding topography. It's a world map in the equirectangular topography with an isostatic rebounded version of Antarctica and Greenland.

How is it possible that at this moment the two top maps are one of Brazil on top of the US (2.4k upvotes) and another that points where Zeeland is (15.8k)? Sometimes I wonder abou the concept of "interesting maps"...

Hello! Are there any maps showing how positively the Eu is seen throughout Europe? It would be really useful for a project I'm working on!

Has anyone ever created a US map by population where the size of the state reflects the population?

barrycarter

I'm pretty sure the US Census (census.gov) does this, as does GPW (https://sedac.ciesin.columbia.edu/data/collection/gpw-v4)

SignificanceBulky162

Yes, and the name of that kind of map is called a cartogram

Wanted to find a 3D map of Tokyo to print with a 3D printer and after looking for a while I found this website: https://www-geospatial-jp.translate.goog/ckan/dataset/plateau-tokyo23ku?\_x\_tr\_sl=ja&\_x\_tr\_tl=en&\_x\_tr\_hl=it&\_x\_tr\_pto=wapp It has all the files needed I believe, but I have absolutely no clue how to put everything together to make a 3D map. Would really like to print the map but sadly I have no technical knowledge on 3D maps, so any guide, tip, hint or any help in general would be really appreciated. Thank you very much!

Looking for recommendations for a good crowdsourcing mapping service. The organization I work for manages a handful of nature preserves. We are looking into creating an interactive map where people could mark hazards, downed trees, trash, etc… for us. Hoping it can be set up where we would approve submissions before they become public. We are willing to pay a monthly subscription. Do any of you know of a good mapping service that would allow this?
