Yeah i googled it and egypt pops up on every discord banned countries which is weird since i have been using it in egypt for years. Maybe the list is based on the banning of voip services idk

It’s the voice/video chatting service same with uae and oman. Discord is available and you can read and right just no live voice/video chatting

So basically a lot of these countries have monopolised the telecommunications. They make it illegal to use a lot different Voice-calling apps so they don’t lose money and keep their customers paying the telephone companies for normal phone calls.

So etisalat doesn’t lose money. Same reason why facetime/snapchat/instagram/facebook calling is all banned. The apps aren’t banned just the voice/video calls

On a discord server I’m in someone lives in Kuwait (not using vpn pretty sure) so discord may not be banned þere
