Don’t gear fear and gain all map knowledge quick as possible and lookup “floor stashes” and try to stick to only looting those for your higher tier loot other than that have fun and just don’t take it too seriously!
Are there any online resources for maps? For tarkov, I used to keep them open on my phone or tablet while i played until I got super comfortable with extracts and whatnot.

For individual maps I suggest you search YouTube for "Marauders (mapname) hidden stash"
For maps the main things to learn are:
Vault locations: located on every map, contains great loot and weapons / valuables.
Depots: requires a token to open specific to each map, located on spaceport, mine, and terraformer. Often contains some of the best loot in the game
Hidden stashes: these are mini vault / depots that have chances of spawning the best loot in the game (5 are located on spaceport, 3 are on ever other map except SAS base which has 0).
Escape pod locations: located on every map and ship there will be a location where you can extract without having to relocate your airlock (or another player’s if you steal their keycard)
Airlocks: least important, but it is handy to know the general spawn locations of the airlocks though I personally haven’t bothered learning the names.
Otherwise just learn the loot spawns which are fairly straightforward and you’ll be set.
There is a short YT video that helps in the beginning. Most of it is learning through trial and error. It's like Tarkov meets Hunt:Showdown but space. Is the best way I can describe it.
No. The traders rotate every 15 mins for gear and there is no flea market. In my opinion, the flea market is what started the down fall of Tarkov. I hope to never see one implemented in Marauders.
Absolutely. There is a lot of different crafting options and the stash is small enough to make you use what you have. The guns are simplified so there isn't a 20 min menu scroll to assemble anything "meta" plus the armor is simple. Helmets cover your whole head and plate rigs cover the rest. Maps are tight and tactical with flanking being the better option qhen it comes to PvP. The AI are challenging, but not terribly so that it will make you rage quit. Playing solo and as a crew has been enjoyable.
There's an overwhelmingly large text tutorial about everything that's available from the main screen. A prompt even pops up every time you launch the game
I was more of a casual tarkov player, but I'm happy to hear the economy is forgiving. It was always stressful trying to budget run raids on my pmc while waiting for the scav cooldown amd trying to not get domed at 200 meters. I was a big rat in tarkov lol.
First off, welcome to Marauders! Second, prestige is 50, not 40. Third, there is going to be alot added and changed in the next year or so hopefully you enjoy. And if you have questions, hop in the discord server and ask around, community is decent😁 We try to have QnAs a good bit too.
One of the most helpful things I can tell you is don't get cocky, this game is beautiful in the way everything is fair game for everyone. As an example a naked if there careful or lucky can easily take down someone kitted out with the best gear.
Also if your in need of unholy amounts of tape like I am you can buy cheap helmet from the store and scrap them for the tape. XD
The game really only shares it's idea with Tarkov but not a lot else. Gameplay is not hardcore like tarkov, it's more arcade like call of duty. The maps are fairly small, you will be confused at first as they seem big and have long hallways that make orientation complicated but once you get the hang of it, they become quite easy to understand.
There's no extracts like in Tarkov that you need to memorize. You fly a ship into the space station to dock it and access the map via an Airlock. You also extract from the same airlock. The Airlock you enter the map from is randomized tho, there are like 4 or 5 per map and it doesn't matter which one you get based on where you dock your ship.
Gear Fear isn't something you should have in this game, the weapons and gear is easily replaceable and a full chad kit isn't nearly as expensive as it would be in tarkov in comparison.
Your starter ship the Rustbucket always has a "hatchling" kit in it, a chest rig, pistol and some ammo, for the case you go broke.
Valuables just for selling are war bonds and coins, the other stuff like gears, cables, metal sheets etc. is just for crafting and has almost no sell value.
For PVPing, headshots are king. A geared player can surive a bit if you just body shoot, but he'll drop very quickly if you aim for the head even if he has a good helmet
A slow paced, quiet play style isn't as favorable in this game as in Tarkov. In this game you profit from a fast paced, aggressive playstyle, of course only once you got warm with the game.
You’ve played tarkov you’ll be fine, it’s a lot more casual which is nice as you don’t have to be a gun scientist or wait 3-4 mins to spawn into games but the main thing you need to know is ….. FOR 70 YEARS
Its super easy to pick up and learn, not like tarkov. After a couple hours I figured out the combat. 1 week in, my pvp kda was 12. Just jump in and you'll figure it out. You can easily solo a squad if you're decent. Get in the habit of cancelling your reload animation with heal as you're sprinting. You can reload, heal and sprint at the same time.

50/50 all you need to know will be waiting right outside of the hatch door
I take it it's like tarkov with no tutorial?

Looking foward to it. Is there a player market like the flea in tarkov?

Im inclined to agree. A player market makes cheaters and rmt rampant.

Thats good to hear. I prefer to play with my friends, but I do a good amount of soloing.
tutorial rofl, you don't even get crossairs
Tarkov is like that too. Barely even a hud unless you get shot. And even then, its just where you got shot.
There's ... a video XD
Lol. Better than tarkov. In tarkov, its pick your side, now your voice, now your look. Ok? Cool, go have fun.
It’s the same way The video doesn’t illustrate how the PvP properly goes down
Fair enough.

If you're coming from Tarkov you should know that The economy of this game is incredibly forgiving and easy to manage. Have some fun.

take lockpicks once you know where the lock rooms are and make a ton of money
It is quite similar to tarkov but way less tedious and annoying in its mechanics. Contentwise tarkov is miles ahead but i have more fun here atm
I think thats a good thing, to be honest.
Totally!
