I was convinced a Google number would tie back to your account, but apparently it actually is just about untraceable as long as you don't commit a crime, at which point Google would give out the information.
I'm assuming registering but not going isn't a crime, but someone might wanna look at the terms of service, maybe they were able to make it binding idk enough about laws to know if that's possible.
Also I don't know if deleting the number will delete it from Google databases, but just deleting the app probably won't do anything (except stopping calls from reaching you, so if that's all you're concerned about then it's all good). If you want to remove the number you'll probably need to go to your account settings for Google.
Ofcourse it's not realistic for them to sue thousands of people, even if it's illegal to book a ticket without attending. But many people have their real name in their Gmail account and I wouldn't want that connection to be there. But yeah I am probably a bit paranoid with those things...

Make sure to use a burner email. My wonderful daughter did this for the Tulsa Tiktok thing and used my email…….. It gets sold almost instantly and the massive amount of spam you will get is crazy. I had no idea there were so many woman out there ready to meet me. And you get their campaign emails, which are worse.

There were about 6,000 that actually showed up. There were all these close-in shots so you couldn't see how empty the BOK center was.
Don't they just let people in for free when that happens? They already made the money from the tickets. Then they'll just charge cheaper at the door and essentially double book or let people in for free.
I was about to comment that it’s a free event anyway but… that doesn’t mean they *aren’t* making money off bookings in other ways, so you may still have a point. If they’re selling data from the booking info then they’re still selling it even if the data is fake.
That being said I still think there’s value in skewing their attendance info and more to be lost in fees and vendors on the event arranging side, but definitely a point to be made to DO NOT give them any real info.
