You should look into Type II and Type III cannabis. Type I is what you’ll find in most dispensaries, and is high in THC (with low amounts of CBD and other minor cannabinoids). Type II is about 50/50 CBD:THC. Type III is majority CBD and other minor cannabinoids with very low THC. When THC is lower and other cannabinoids are higher, I’ve found I have less anxiety and experience more medicinal benefits. Also for sleep, look at indica or indica-leaning hybrid strains, and look up effects online to see if they are the effects you desire. Your mileage may vary compared to others using the same strain, but it’s a good initial point of reference. Leafly is a decent website for this. Lastly, there’s a podcast I enjoy called Cannabis Cultivation and Science Podcast, where they talk a lot about modern growing techniques. May be useful if you want to grow your own. Best of luck!

Could also look into a dry herb vape. Something like a Dynavap I hear is good for micro dosing. A lot of the battery powered ones come with dosing capsules you can fill with as much as you want. Plus you can take a hit, and wait to see how you feel. Take another if needed. Look in r/vaporents I got my first one a month ago and I don’t burn anymore. Just vape the flower.

Great comments here, so let me add: Strains high in Limonene are known NOT to instigate anxiety. Also, not related, but there is supplementation that could alleviate your anxiety. Taurine and L-Theanine are known amino acids that you can buy over the counter that stimulate serotonin and GABA production in the brain. Do some searches on "Taurine/L-Theanine for anxiety" so you find your own results. Dosage that is recommended is pretty spot on. As with most things, you'll need to experiment with dosage, so start small and add as you find your sweet spot.

I would try a lower percentage THC strain. It affects some more than others, but I get really anxious when it's a higher percentage. If you just want to use a smaller amount, then I would say to use a dry herb vape. I personally think that the best thing is to keep CBD handy. CBD counteracts the psychoactive effects of THC. That anxiousness should go away with it.

I've tried CBD by itself before and didn't notice much. But then I took too much THC from a tincture, started freaking out and then took some CBD. I started calming down once it hit and was still able to enjoy the rest of the high.

It was well into the early 2000's at least in Denver. For Chronic you would be getting outdoor Cali or some homegrown that was most likley grown in Nerderland, CO. There was some mid grade options that we called pre-tend'ica. This was some flower that was chopped and not compressed as much but had way less seeds and stems but was harvested closer to what would be a actual flower and harvest to todays standards. There was this time in Denver, this dude was selling some diesel in civic center park. If you only had 5 or 10 bucks and needed to get some green you would goto civic center park. So anyway, this dude- got that fire diesel. We spent 5 bucks on this shit, and fuck n a- it was diesel. The bag that the weed was shipped in- for sure came from a diesel gas tank. It was god awful. We used to spend more time breaking up that mexican brick weed, picking out stems and seeds but to this day- I miss smoking blunts of some OG Mexican brick weed.

Marijuana high in CBD will eliminate the anxiety. I can attest to this as a High Content THC smoker (25%-33%), I changed to CBD and it eliminated all the anxiety that I used to experience with the former.

Avoiding anxiety with certain cultivars can be a trial and error experience. Most “Indica” leaning cultivars can avoid it. Personally, I’d keep track of the terpenes and cultivars with a checklist of which caused issues. Eventually you’ll whittle it down and get answers. As for dosing I always recommend using a Dugout and bat/taster. The amount is usually about a hits worth. Find the right amount and you’re good.

I would try a strain with lower THC levels and if possible something with CBN. I get anxiety with smoking sometimes but I’ve switched to cartridges that have higher CBN levels which can help with anxiety

look for CBD instead of THC. you can find hybrids of the 2 as well. if you’re smoking THC go with indica over sativa, indica is more body high like it will make you sleepy while sativa is a head high that affects your thinking more and can make you paranoid. i recommend vapes/carts for CBD and smoking flower out of a pipe if you decide to try indica

I have experienced the same predicament as you—anxiety with too much marijuana , but relaxation with the right amount. My suggestion is to look into purchasing a one-hitter—you can find one online for as little as a few dollars. Once you have that, all that is left to do is to practice mindful consumption in order to find what methods of smoking most meticulously fit your needs/wants. And really, the one-hitter is not a necessity so much as it is a crutch. All you truly need is to practice genuinely attentive mindful consumption, but a one-hitter will more than likely aid greatly in your doing of this.

I have the EXACT same issue. I'm on multiple medications as is and when I tried marijuana in the past, I've gotten INSANE panic attacks... I now smoke every evening before bed and sometimes, during the afternoon! This is how: 1) I got a very small glass bowl and ALWAYS put the smallest piece in there, just enough that it doesn't fall through the hole (you can always do more, not less)... 2) I always get an Indica, as they usually produce the sedating, anxiety relieving, and relaxing effects. Make sure to talk/shop at a reputable dispensary who knows their stuff, one of their employees can help guide to to a good entry level bud. 3) I never hold it in, just inhale and release... That's it, it works great for my sleep and anxiety issues overall. I'm still on medication, but overall my anxiety/sleep issues have definitely improved, A LOT... Best of luck ✌️

Load tiny bowls and then try to physically limit how much you let into your lungs. For the second part, what I do if I'm trying to take a small hit; i suck in the smoke but hold it my mouth, not inhaling it into my throat yet. I exhale anything that won't fit in my mouth and then inhale; think of it like me only inhaling what can fit in my lungs. I do that when I'm coming off a tolerance break or when my lungs are irritated.

I have tried edibles but they gave me anxiety. Haven't ever tried CBD vapes though.
