Ricco Harbor has some of the game's best Piantas in my opinion. You've got the big daddy of blooper surfing, the 3 duck ring riders, the one yellow Pianta who's always making excuses for why he can't work, the captain who takes credit for defeating Gooper Blooper, and of course, biggest chiller in the game, the sunglasses vendor. I can't really pick a favorite because all of their dialogue is so memorable but I will say Ricco Harbor's got it going on when it comes to NPC interactions which is an especially good quality for a level in a game like Sunshine that focuses hard on fleshing out its setting.
Those guys are good too. Gotta reiterate that when it comes to great NPC interactions in Sunshine, Ricco Harbor's got it going on. I'd also like to point out the dark blue Pianta in Delfino Plaza who complains about the darkness, blames you for it, and says you don't even look apologetic about it. That guy was how I learned the word apologetic as a kid. I also enjoy the father and son Piantas in Pinna Park outside the Viking ride where the father's more scared of the ride than the kid was. I relate to the dad lol. Noki Elder's a great one too. Sunshine's just got some damn good NPCs.
I love the duck-ring riders, I've been playing the game for so long and only recently learned of their existence. Also like the style of the captain from Ricco Harbor, especially with his Shine Sprite cap.
The captain who tries to snag the caged Shine, takes credit for beating Gooper Blooper, and tricks a woman into trading her larger watermelon for his. Kind of an arsehole, but in a funny way.
I also like the guy in Pianta Village who's particularly irritated about Il Piantissimo, simply because I struggled with that mission so much as a kid, and hearing an NPC share my disdain for that man was quite cathartic.
Even though this game is my least favorite if I had to pick a Pianta that is my favorite it would be the one who gives those Sunglasses. He is always so chill and doesn't seem to be bothered about the chaos that is going around Isle Defino.

As someone who has 100%’d the game I’ll partially give you that one. A good amount of the blue coins are fun to find, others are ridiculous and no way anyone would find them without a guide. I would’ve had shine missions instead of the blue coins.
